@@BigmanDogs Ok now that last sentence you said I do agree with. Wrestlemania had a good storyline and thus it was ok to have a predictable finish. The storyline is the key and this feud was lacking. There really was no reason to care about Cody vs AJ, I'll agree with you there. My overall point was you can have a predictable match as long as the story is good. That's the case with pretty much any form of storytelling - movies, tv, etc...

We were talking about Kenny Omega as AEW World Champ, and I said "the issue is simple, as soon as the ref count three on his pin to Moxley, we KNEW Page was the one that would beat him, not a single opponent was build in such a way we thought he could actually defeat him". Say what you want about CHIKARA, but that promotion, whoever was the contender for their Main title, they built that one in a way you thought "he might leave the venue with the title". Same in WWE or in any company. I'll give props to MLW, when Hammerstone was the Champion, they had this idea of being a Champion means you have challengers and personal ennemies at the same time, so Hammer got beat up by EJ Nduka or Richard Holliday who were personnal nemesis, and at the same time he got to focus on Bandido or Davey Richards because those are his contenders for the title. That meant that you could have Hammer getting to focus on his personal stuff and looses the match, or the rival can interfere, or the rival injures him and so he looses because of the injury. There was this idea that yes, you're gonna have Hammer vs NDuka down the line, but it might be without a title to defend because of that booking, so there's a sense of suspense.
My exact thoughts too on Tonga, when Orton suplexed him on the tables a few times I was like "this dudes the size of X-Pac" I was watching Survivor Series 1993 the other day I was thinking that even Marty Janetty would be a big dude compared to most guys on the current roster.
I agree with you on that fine line being crossed by the fans. Great crowd but often the reactions had nothing to do with the match. Still…. Better than a dead crowd that’s for sure

The first 2 matches I actually enjoyed. The Whc and female tag team matches were boring as hell. The main event was a 6.5/10. The main problem is the result of every single match was so damn predictable. Also, the crowd was annoying as hell. A bunch of dudes who payed the ticket just for the sake of chanting random crap that have nothing to do with the matches.
KO & Orton V. The Bloodline was the entire show. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS MID! I suffered through Uso and Priest, skipped ALL the womens matches and I forwarded Cucky Rhodes match cause it was predictable. Glad its over. Crowd was great but as the night wore on they became unbearable.

People calling this a good show amazes me, none of these matches had stories, none of the matches had character work, none of them had anything surprising and none of them were anything that couldn't be done in a normal raw or smack down. The crowd was a 10 out of 10. The show was a 3 out of 10 boring, and that main event went on for way too long.

backlash was ok but didnt feel like a ppv. the main could have been a bit shorter and the priest vs uso match was bad though.
