Val Venis was a great character, and for some reason he was a pain in the ass to deal with in WM 2000 and No Mercy on N64. Al Snow too (outside of the DX guys).

Yet for someone reason it would be sexist to have female wrestlers to face any threats from men. How is that empowering? You really want to show how the female wrestlers are strong, then have them go against the men, not specifically in a physical sense, but have more threats when it comes to the men. When Rhea was in the ring with Randy Orton we knew no matter what nothing would happen to her. But back in 2007, you could feel fear that a diva would get rko by the legend killer. That threat has been wiped away, the plot armor surrounding female wrestlers is hurting them in my opinion.
to many of them are on instagram and twitter posting stupid videos and whining and complaining about not getting pushed...this would be mostly these new girls in the last 2 yrs...
You forgot to mention the absolute bottom of the barrel regarding women's wrestling. That would be the 300lb+ joshi princess weebs who also double as samurai and ninjas. AEW caters to them in a small way.

Their women's division is very diverse: big, strong amazonian powerhouses (Statlander, Willow, Jamie Hayter, Taya Valkyrie), in ring technicians in Deonna Purazzo & Serena Deeb), Eye Candy females that can wrestle (Mariah May, Skye Blue, Danni Ellexo/Harley Cameron, Queen Aminata), high flyers (Riho, Yuka Sakazaki, Billie Starkz, Lady Frost) and female wrestlers with great mic skills/character (Toni Storm, Britt Baker, Julia Hart, Mercedes Mone). Maybe I'll a bit bias because I'm an AEW fan, but you can't because of the reasons that I listed. Their division is stacked, just very poorly booked. Another thing I wanted to add is that feminity exists in AEW. They have plenty of femine wrestlers.
I will take women's wrestling seriously when they will fight against men on the same level of physicality. Until then, they can only get over with sex appeal with me because athletically they don't compare
The Nxt women coming us actually have characters so when they all make their way up to the main roster. Hopefully they actually tie them into storylines. Nxt on Tuesday does a way beeter job telling stories than the main roster sometimes.

This video just backs up my view that the whole women’s revolution and Stephanie McMahon were BS. Stephanie did nothing but push the Bella twins (it didn’t hurt that John Laurinitas is their stepdad). (Lynch is insufferable on the stick or in the ring.) The "revolution" has made me nostalgic for the evening gown matches and bikini contests.

TNA has the best women wrestlers (Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich, Tasha Steelz, Rosemary, etc.) Unfortunately TNA lost Deonna Purrazzo, who made the bad decision to sign with AEW. When it comes to promos Tasha Steelz can destroy cosplay wrestler MJF on the mic. As for gimmicks the best are Rosemary and Su Yung, whose status in TNA is unknown. Rosemary has her demon gimmick where she cuts unique promos with the language. Su Yung has 3 gimmicks: undead bride, Suzie the child-like character and Susan the Karen-type character. All 3 are believable.
