First song by modest mouse I heard was float on, obviously, and I thought they were a mellow band. Little did I know they have post-hardcore songs that sound like At the Drive-in
You can't compare that indie-like Float On to the masterpieces on the first two albums: This is a long drive... and Lonesome crowded west. Teeth like God's shoeshine, Beach Side Property, Exit Does Not Exists, Cowboy Dan, Doin' the Cockroach is the best what they have to offer.
@@TheDymeR don't forget about their actually good "mellow" album Moon & Antarctica which is a masterpiece front to back. No other rock album has atmosphere like that.
Tempo seems a little bit faster at parts in the intro and first couple verses. Doesn't seem that consistent. But this riff is hard to play for that long and stay steady
Epic zoom job on the dude with the Afro lmao
He saw the coolest dude walking by and knew he had to capture it haha
This song grooves so fucking hard. One of my all time favorites right here.
When is the last time they played this live? I would pay for a ticket just to hear this song alone but I feel like they don't play it anymore.
John S heard it live in Vegas July 2017. Well I might be wrong..but you you tag along
Absolutely badass. Do they pretty it up with all the new members like they do for Cowboy Dan?
June 30, 2008 in Belle Vernon, PA was the last time they’ve played this live.
Fuzzy Dunlop hey I’m cowboy dan
Betcha they'll play it every night on the LCW 25th anniversary tour.
fav modest mouse song can't lie.
OH MY GOD DAMN!!!!
I wish that they wouldn't cut off the very last hype bit x.x
I was thinking the same thing. I have seen other live recordings of this song and for some reason they always leave out the epic ending to this song.
take them all for thier sense of happiness. that comes from hurting deep down inside. Holy fuck!!
God damn rest in peace Jeremiah Green you were the best

It's crazy to see people stood that close together
Hells yea
Sounds significantly different than the recording even though the recording itself is live, would love to see this live

They lengthened a few sections. I think it’s one of the best live renditions I’ve seen. Great song.
I envy the people who went at that concert, i was not even born yet:(7
I was there, first time I saw someone using an apple as a pipe.
are there any performances where they do the whole thing?
