I have always been impressed with Hal Rucker- he comes up with some incredible ideas, and his machining, construction, and attention to detail are amazing. Just wish he had more success to go along with his great ideas.
Ahhhhh such a good fight! I remember seeing it the first time thinking man! This is going to be close! Buster the solid titanium Terminator. Never understood the axe weapon head design didn't do so well. You're bots are always the must see when there's an event.
A solid titanium chasis? Jesus man! How much did that set him back? Leave it to good ol' Hal to come at you with solid bricks that refuse to die. Unrelated note, I hope your hand's healing up nicely.
Titanium produces so many sparks when hit, I love it! You can definitely see Hal's design language in Buster, especially with the low profile and non-steel construction. Question though, what is that bit hanging off the top of this Tombstone's frame, in front of the spinner? Is that meant to guard the hub from damage?
I really liked the match, the Super-Heavyweight Tombstone is awesome. If you are able to enter Tombstone in other events (One you get better), is it possible to add the piece of frame that partially blocks the exposed weapon chain? Anyway, Get well soon.
Hello Ray, I'm a huge, huge fan, in every new fight/episode I'm sitting wishing that maybe you built a protective cover around the wheels of Tombstone, I've noticed that in too many matches since 2019 you get counted due to wheel/tire damage and sadly, often self inflicted (hit the wall).I t's very rare that you lose due to a knockout, is there a reason you keep competing with exposed wheels? I wish you all the very best, greetings from Israel.
It's been explained some times about the wheels. The reason they aren't protected is for a few reasons, although it's clear to understand why people ask! 1 - They already are protected by the weapon. The weapon width from the front is near the same. 2 - The amount of weight that it would take away from the weapon to fit enough armour around them to make them not just crumple in and jam the wheels is impractical. 3 - They would increase the width of the robot so much that it imbalances it in drive. Hope this helps!
@@EakDaFreak69 As the robots get larger, the cost of building and maintaining the arena goes up significantly. I know there are builders who would still build for the class if it was an option, but truthfully as hard as heavyweights hit now I agree with the thought that we don't need the supers anymore. Heavyweights at 250 seems like a decent max weight to me.
Unfortunately, no. If you look at my 'hand injury' video, it explains it all. But bottom line is I will have to take the rest of the year off for competing.
Titanium always gives the best sparks

Oh so this is where Hal got the idea for a Duck spinner lol
He may not be in Battlebots this year, but he is still doing Battlebots ;p
Man I didn’t know you and Hal had another fight back then. I know about Tombstone Vs Duck! And Last Rites Vs. Whoops!
Those wheels were hanging on for dear life. Makes me happy to see how beefier the shock mountings are on the current iteration.

I love watching these little tidbits of combat robot history.
those bright titanium white sparks are so recognizable :)

My favorite bot. Just seen you had a channel. When you ask at times “you want more” just adds to it all 😂😂
I'm super interested in this type of video from you, sir! Keep it up and get well soon!

Chain guard, I imagine.

Very cool old school fight!
Those sparks!!😍💥💥💥
Sparky would be a good name for it.
Quite impressive seeing the Superheavyweight version Tombstone with the same name.
Wow 2x tombstone robots yikes double trouble
Titanium Confetti FTW
think that and ringmaster from season 2 of the reboot is the only times ive seen hal put a spinner on one of his robots.
Tombstone The King Of Kinetic Energy Busted Buster! Ray Billings Has Done It Again!

Cool
Epic!
At the beginning of the video, which tombstone is the newest, the one on the left?
The one on the right is the newest version.
@@ray9368 ok
I think is like 2006
What is the weight limit on super heavy weights?
Super Heavyweight class was 340 pounds. It's still in some rule sets but I don't know of any even that supports them any longer.
@@ray9368 incredible. Was it just too expensive, or does weight start to give diminishing returns in entertainment value?

How expensive is it to make and maintain a bot like Tombstone?
Hi Ray, are you competing in Season 7 of Battlebots?
He sadly is not
