Joss, at 30, returns to North Sea Jazz for believe the 4th time(?), characteristically energetic and engaging, right on key! Hot-Lanta Soul Bro' Rick Jordan has here been temporarily substituted by Carl Lemar Carter, Joss's third (2007-2008)drummer, who, at that time, departed to perform with Raphael Saadiq. Joining Carl, Pete, Christian, & Leon (the "core four"), "Tennessee Titan" Emmanuel Echem teams with James G-Bateman to provide GREAT BRASS dimension and augmentation. Great to see Artia Lockett return after 2 yr. hiatus to join Sharon White => excellent backing vocalist duo. ONE COMPLAINT: 2017 Jazzwoche excepted, the audio-video productions this year have been sadly lacking in comparison to prior years! Clearly a problem with focus in several of these numbered videos.
