Thanks Sam and Max for trusting me to take you guys around! Epic food list here and watching it made me hungry (& then full) all over again 🥳 Thanks for lovin’ Hong Kong!
Sam, I can't thank you enough for taking all of us on this epicurean journey to Hong Kong! I'll never get to go but you took me there with and I'm so very happy!
Lived in Hong Kong for 3 yrs while my husband was an attaché. Absolutely one of my favorite places on earth! Can’t even think about eating Cantonese food anywhere else. so glad you enjoyed it!
I don't know about the other Chinatowns but NYC Manhattan Chinatown has a lot of these foods, I grew up in and around it and I've had a lot of these foods.
Yeesss! I haven't even watched the video yet and already want to comment. I love these types of videos. Changes things up and shows a different culture that I unfortunately will probably never see in person.
It’s so funny how Iv been following some of your recipes.. and now I came across a video of you eating in my backyard! Luv it! Hope u had a great time in HK
I love this! ❤ I love how well Max edited everything and am wondering if he gets to enjoy all the different foods as well as Sam. You guys are amazing! Thank you for your hard work!
Omg, do more of these videos also!!! Love love love it!! Living vicariously thru UA-cam at this phase in my life. I’ve always wanted to go to Asia!! Love your show dudes!
Love your food travel videos, they always make me want to go and follow in your footsteps. Virginia was a treat and I’m glad you occasionally let Max eat some of the food 😂
I used to be in and out of Hong Kong in my Navy days. The food experience has always been the highlight. I am going back next year. Great Work guys! As always!
Fantastic delicious show! Hong Kong and Singapore are the best cities in Asia for delicious, food! I could quite happily lick the screen watching this show this afternoon!
I am so with you on the Tripe Sam. The food looked so delicious, I had to order Chinese for dinner tonight. Looks like you had an amazing time. Love Virginia's energy!
Just to mention that the editing and camera work and color profile, everything is awesome. So is the food, of course, but the video experience is enhanced. Thank you. ;) Cheers from Paris.
34:33 - great to see you sitting next to a photo of Dave Myers (RIP) and Si King, the Hairy Bikers from the UK! They made great food and cooking series travelling the world! Esteemed company, Sam!
This is an incredible episode!!! I love your fellow Canadian friend; she's lovely. I want to try everything! And all the people there in Hong Kong look so healthy. Many healthy looking elders. That food! Thank you for this, Sam and Max.
I spent almost 8 years circling the globe for work, sampling life everywhere I went. Now that I'm retired, I can no longer fiscally or physically travel like that. So, now I drive to different towns (nothing as big as a city) and pull a SamMax testing and testing to find gems. Some great and some terrible results but so much fun trying. Thanks for the inspiration, Sam!
Love the out of the box creativity! I’m trying your ranch recipe you posted 2 weeks ago. The texture reminds me of a German cucumber recipe my grandmother used to make. A little on the runny side but loaded with flavor! Can’t wait! You still doing the knife give away!? 😀
Love these videos, any chance you plan on going to Iceland? Going in a few months and even doing a food tour the first day, but would love to see what you guys could find.
Thanks for introducing Hong Kong food to the world. Your list is comprehensive. The food here is not necessary expensive but they sure are tasty. My favourite are wanton, dim sum and egg tarts.
Nice to enjoy a longer STCG vid. This will be the last one I can watch for a while. (No details, just living in hard times) I'm hoping to see your version of an oyster omellette and/or soy noodles when I'm able to tune in again. Thanks for the inspiration and entertainment! 🤜💥🤛
I want to say thank you for showing the tradtional places 🙏🏻 the right authentic Chinese dishes to all your viewers. You tried all the right food. Im glad you liked it all as well. Thank you Sam and Virginia you OG !! YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF GIRL ❤🎉
Great long video Sam absolutely loved it and wish I could make it to many different places one day but poor doesn't get me anywhere so I do all my wonderful cooking right at home! I'm going to try to recreate something there in a minor capacity with hopefully minor failure lol love the long video and great work and I'm glad you thoroughly enjoyed it! By the way it doesn't look like anybody won a knife from that video!!!😢😢😢
Amazing. Should have also gone down to Aberdeen and the wet market, buy some fresh seafood and then bring it upstairs to get it cooked. Getting fresh seafood and having it cooked is wonderful
that was a fantastic exploration of hong kong eats. great shots, great personalities. great energy. loved it. but wait! on that dish with the 4 meats, BBQ / roast duck was MIA!
I instantly subscribed. You are legend eating soup noodle on that longest escaltor in the world. I never thought of and I have never seen anyone done that. A foregin act of brilliance. I also really like how to went to those local ones. Yes, all our food are savoury, are unforgettable.
Can’t wait!!! I’m planning to make a surprise trip with my wife and kids for our wedding anniversary! Since we never had a holiday/ honeymoon, yes they are grown. Thank You for sharing your experience. I will definitely try to duplicate your travel. You are the best Sam! And you are correct…. Food Network can’t even make this happen. You are honest and true to the point. Intestinal food,NO, dried squid,No 😂🍸. Again thanks to you and max for making this happen. I wish I could have a food tour guide when I get there. Honestly I would be lost
I'm glad that so many of these dishes have traveled to where I live in Perth, Western Australia courtesy of the Chinese community from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia etc. When I worked in West Perth we would have restaurants that we would frequent for lunch in the neighbouring and not so neighbouring suburbs depending on what the consensus was on what we felt like. From memory there was about three different wonton noodle places, a couple of dimsum places, a 'duck/rice' place and then a place that did duck/rice and dimsum for the days we couldn't decide (which for a high percentage of times coincided with the day it was shut 🤣). Even when I was in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea for six months I would meet a college and his wife for dimsum each Saturday morning. In spite of all of that you still showed so many exciting dishes to try first in your Singapore video and now with Hong Kong, sp thanks heaps!
Thanks Sam and Max for trusting me to take you guys around! Epic food list here and watching it made me hungry (& then full) all over again 🥳
Thanks for lovin’ Hong Kong!

Excellent video! Hong* Kong is on my list of places to go and now I have a food wish list.
Absolutely hilarious every time Sam says, “Ok, leave that out.” Max always leaves it in! 🤣
NGL that's partly why I love this channel lol
Always? 🤔🤣
@@knives2014 ha, I was thinking that too. If he leaves that in, imagine the stuff Sam says that actually has to get cut 😂
Sam, thanks for all the videos you do from Asian countries highlighting their everyday food. My favorite kind of food!
The best shrimp fried rice I ever had was from a little shack on a pier in Hong Kong. Those were in my Navy days. USS Midway CV-41.
This is such a fun episode! Sam, glad you got the most authentic wonton noodles in HK! That’s the best🤘🏻I miss it so much
and thats just the beginning, Home Kong has so much to offer... my fav here are BiangBiang Noodles. Cheers and thx for coming to HK.
