I am impressed how well made and big the vapor chamber is. No wonder it does not heat that much over long periods of game & heavy use.
👍
Do you think it won't have mother board issues. Because I am worried about the negative comments.
@@rgarnet2677 Only time can tell and nobody knows for certain. So far, the "F" series of Poco does not have these "deadboot" issues except of course the few models they released back then...
😃👍
@@kodaph Actually they had ... I got bootloop yesterday ... clean install EU solved the problem 🙂
7:21 that battery and processor combo is a beast! I'm sitting at 51% with a little over 6hrs SOT. Some days it's 5hrs SOT with 50% so it varies but that's still great in my book (stock ROM, not rooted.. Yet). I don't game mostly WhatsApp, UA-cam, web browsing, a few calls here and there, voice notes and then it's just your myriad of utility apps (banking, e-commerce, etc). I seldom take pictures though. The first few days it got warm from just regular use but it was obvious to me that it was just the battery breaking in and that after a few charging cycles it would get better and it has! It still gets overly warm (barely noticeable but it's there) from time to time but it does go away on its own. I've only had it with me for like 2 weeks so it will probably get better where it won't even be noticeable.
I hit ~10 hour SOT close to empty when I first got my Mi 9T as well haha.
Expecting the Poco F5 any day now!
Thank God I've found this video. I'm overthinking since I thought that the sim ejector is the microphone hole. Thank you.
You're welcome :)
Not too bad. I'd be happy working on this phone. I prefer the plastic back to glass ones definitely.
Yep, for repairs it's easier but I personally prefer the feel of glass ones over plastic.
@@PBKreviews in my opinion, the feel of the back doesn't really matter since the phone will be in a case anyway.
True, if in a case then doesn't really matter.
But I think glass back will increase durability more because glass can't be bend .
Me too
No nonsense video - excellent information. Very educational
👍 Thanks
I was waiting for this tear down ….great job..can you kindly tell me how will you rate the inside build of this phone?? It will help me a lot to buy or not
It's an improvement and has a nice large and solid vapor chamber to transfer heat.

Great video. I got to ask, is glass back panel much better than plastic back in terms of heat management? If yes, is there a big difference between the two?
Thanks, Yeah for heat its better.

and i should have this phone. immidiately
Mine is like new after 5 years and battery at 87%Life lol , just bought this f5
I ordered this phone it seems it's also used pop method RAM over processor
To cool down the device can we use a external cooler if it's is what are those?
What's your opinion on the quality of motherboard, will it survive for long?
bro can i install poco x7 pro battery in this f5?? pls reply, my batter health is like 76%, and i am looking for silicon-carbon battery
sorry to annoy, now since months elapsed, do you think the phone will face motherboard issues like x3 pro? please respond to me because I already bought the phone but haven't opened it yet so i can return it. thank you
In the Russian market, it only happens that the battery fails due to its defect, but it is replaced under warranty, and in 11 months I have not seen any complaints about the motherboard.
hi, can i replace the pink paste from proccesor with mx4? im trying to fix overheathing
How wise is it to glue a thin magnet to the inside of the back cover? I have one of those covers with magnets and it's great but want to get rid of the cover and don't want to stick a magnet to the outside 😕
Sir, can i just unplug the battery connector and just remove the battery if i want to replace my battery?
because in ur video, removing battery is the last thing u do..
but in my case, i only want to replacing battery
It's okay to just remove the battery, i'm doing it with my poco x3 pro a month ago
Подскажите, я вместо отверстия сим лотка засунул иглу в микрофон. Я не мог повредить его? Сеточки я так понял там нет. Спасибо.
Нет, ничего не повредилось. В видео об этом ясно говорится
If I just want to replace power button, do I need to remove many components?
Can you please tell us that will this phone also have motherboard dead problem like old poco phones?
What do you think?
I don't think so, I think this one should do better, especially with the better heat management with that large vapor chamber.
@@PBKreviews i heard that old poco like poco x3 have dogshit heat management, they didn't even put an effort to mitigate heat, hence why fried mobo or chip is a common enough problem, is it true? what's your opinion on this matter?
@@ki6108you can't compare poco x series to f series because f series is different class than that cheap x series
@@ki6108also you can't justify all poco phone has this motherboard issues
I watch some video teardown on poco x3 pro and what I see is it literally doesn't have a thermal paste on cpu lol no wonder why it has a deadboot issue
Very well explained and also thanks for answering many comments here. Helped a ton! Indian Poco for some reason doesn't come with NFC. Do you its possible to add that later after some years maybe..?
Thanks, and you're welcome. You should be able to add the NFC antenna (considering if the contacts have been soldered to the main board of the Indian variant), however I'm not sure if the software would pick it up or if you would also need to flash firmware from the global variant to enable the NFC.
@@PBKreviews I guess so.. Thanks again
@@PBKreviews but where is the antenna btw , i just couldn't able to see it in videos
I am using a phone cooler on this phone while playing heavy games like Genshin Impact. Do you think that the plastic cover and graphite flimgrain present inside the phone protect the battery and mother board if their is any internal condensation?
I have also heard using backcover with phone cooler prevents internal condensation do you think this is true?
I recommend using the cooler with a cover, I've been using it for 7 months on my F5 and playing Genshin, it stays between 37° and 39° which is enough to not stress the hardware...
Very useful informations. thank you man
nice video, maybe next time you could make a full review about the phone, which include all of the information and your thoughts of it regarding the inside of the phone (design, motherboard, heat management, etc) 👍
Thanks 👍
Does the display part the same with poco f5 pro?
Bro my poco f5 phone blue wire is swithed off does it a big problem my phone doen't connecting.
Its an antenna cable, so you would have to replace it. They are called smartphone coaxial cables. It's usually difficult to find the exact one for your phone model, so you may need to find one that is similar in length from a different phone to use.
Bro, permission to ask if you want to use a cooler, does the cold immediately spread to the CPU? Do you need a heatsink?😊
Not sure what you mean exactly.
@@PBKreviewswhy in Indian variant there report motherboard issue for this phone? in India are they used cheap quality internal products 🥹🤔🤔🤔
One question was how much would you estimate price by looking at its parts?
Sir, as we know poco phones has motherboard issue, may I buy thi phone, how's it's soldering and all?
So far seems to be good, and I haven't heard of any issues. Also the large vapor chamber should help against any overheating.
Motherboard issue chances ? Motherboard quality ?
P.S: Because there is a bad history of motherboard issues after update with POCO phones in India .
Not sure, it would be too early to tell but it has better heat management with the large vapor chamber, so hopefully will not have any issues. People seem to be pleased so far with it.
No motherboard issues, motherboard and all the materials have good quality
But POCO x6 Pro have sudden death issues, so be careful
What can you say about the vapor chamber/ liquid cooling technology of f5 vs x4 gt?
Is the ram above the processor like the Poco X3 Pro?
I mean, is there a possibility of a motherboard malfunction problem like the Poco X3 Pro?
yes it's seated above for better performance but this phone has better cooling so hopefully there won't be any issues
@@PBKreviews We hope so. Thank you very much and thank you for your beautiful and useful content ♥️

Hello, how many degrees of salt are needed to open the cover of this cell phone? Curious, if I put his case in the sun for 5 minutes, and put it on the phone, would that temperature be enough to open the cover?
I am having problems with the SoC reads NA°C and the temperature of the smartphone increases rapidly and stays at 35°C on normal uses, I have tried even factory reset but the problem persists, what could be the cause?
Is there an ingredient in the presence of wine on the ram, or is it normal? please reply
@PBKreviews I accidentally dipped the top part of phone in water for like 2 seconds. I didn't notice any changes. Should I be worried of water damage or corrosion on headphone jack or any ports on top of my phone. A reply would be much appreciated
There's no way to really tell unless you took it apart to see if any water got inside. But there is a rubber gasket around the headphone jack, so hopefully not. If you notice any moisture around the camera lens or any signs the phone is acting up, turn it off to prevent shorting. Then take it apart and disconnect the battery, dry out any water and brush off any corrosion around chips or connectors and re assemble the phone.
been like 3 days and no moisture on camera at all, I just wish it won't rust on headphone jack
does the secondary microphone have any protection from water like a rubber ring?
I am here because I am worries about that hole at the bottom. It is good that you mentioned not to worry. Thank you my good sir.
👍 you're welcome
I hope you can help me, I cleaned the microphones with compressed air, now they are damaged and only white noise is heard, but you say that its hard to damage the microphone, what do you think is the reason?
Compressed air can sometimes shoot out liquid which might get inside with the pressure. Or its possible your filters are dirty and the air clogged the filters up not sure.
Hello, I have a question, the motherboard of the Poco F5 12gb/256gb variant is it compatible with redmi note 12 Turbo 12gb/512gb
I don't like the design in which the cable is being sandwich by the heatsink and the battery. that's just dangerous for a phone that you expect to heat up so much coz their target customers are gamers.
I'm still have my Pocof1 with me working fine. (I already replaced it's battery once and replaced thermal paste) and I'm here looking for future replacement.
I'm always looking for disassembly video's of any phone I plan to buy so I knew how easy to break them apart in case something minor happens.
👍
So would you go for it or not...
what about the motherboard quality?? what's ur opinion on it.
Is that a Mediatek logo on the processor? Shouldn't it be a snapdragon?
that is micron logo on the rom
Sir , Does Poco F5 support VoNR ?
What about the frame? Is it metel or plastic? Can i get a metel premium feel when i take it on hands? Or purely plastic feel when it take on hands......
It doesn't feel cheap, but it's a metal mid frame with a plastic coated border. So the outside will act or feel more closer to plastic but if you bend it, it's strong and won't break. But if you force it say under extreme conditions, it will bend and stay bent but not break like plastic. You would have to bend it back to straighten it since it's metal but yeah that's if you really try to bend it with extreme force.
@@PBKreviews Nice insight... I believe I've seen Poco F3 plastic outside for coating but inside is metal... probably to save cost yet integrity is solid
May i ask, if i use a cooling pad on poco f5, where is the best place to put it? Right in the middle or somewhere else?
on the back upper 1/3 portion where the main board is.
What is cooling pad?
Thanks for explaining the microphone. I was worried when I accidentally stuck the sim ejector into it.
Glad I could help!
@@PBKreviewsthank youuuuuuuuu
I wont damage the microphone if you poke it quite hard right?
Will it bend like the poco x6 pro?
спасибо за разбор телефона ❤

U still replying to comments even after 3 months… Impressive bro👍🏻 Want to ask why in Indian Poco phones motherboard dead after update, Any reasons sir?
Thanks, I try my best to answer as much as I get a chance to. Not sure honestly. Might be conflict in software reading hardware. Most manufacturers will spend extra time testing new software, even beta testing it on select set of people who volunteer before sending it out to the public as an update to make sure things like this wont happen and even then sometimes issues arise but at least the issues are usually small and don't brick or render the phone unusable. So I am assuming they probably don't test the software as thoroughly to make sure it had no problems, before pushing it out to the phones.
@@PBKreviews So can I escape the problem by custom roms?
Possibly, but those sometimes pose risks too if not installed correctly, they can brick the phone. In most cases it's not the motherboard failing, but when the firmware is bricked or corrupt to a certain point, it requires special programming with tools the manufacture has to fix it. So its not like the motherboard burns or anything like that. Just not user programmable when it's corrupt beyond a certain point.
@@PBKreviews Thank u sir for the reply
You're welcome
Even though RAM and CPU are stacked, is Poco F5 still recommended?
yeah seems like it should be a good device. Most flagships now all have stacked RAM and CPU. It allows for better performance. As long as they have good heat transfer, there should be no problems.
tell me what kind of smartphone that has separated ram ?
all smartphone uses soc and all soc stacking up ram above the soc or processor

Great video. I want to ask something related to soapy water damage to this phone. water was on it for around an hour.
It stopped fast charging(67watts) and camera lens had fog. Rest of the phone was working fine.
Used the phone for a day before plugging the charger. Immediately switched it off and left it drying with silica gel packets. after 12hrs back camera lens fog has gone and front camera fog has lowered but not gone.
Do you think the motherboard will be damaged and corroded by now? or should I take it to repair shop to clean?
After a week of drying, is the fast charging going to come back?(because it is charging slow and not stopping, I think its not dead) I remember the phone saying "external dac plugged in" during that one day of use, maybe its thinking a device is plugged instead of charger and only allowing slow power flow.
what do you think? will I have to get the usb port replaced ?
edit: everything is fine after drying it for 2 days but I'm continuing to dry it for a week just to be sure
I want to ask, how to change the lens glass on the backdoor? Because I have a scratch problem on the camera lens glass. I'm also confused where the original Poco spare parts are sold
Hi, you would need to use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the scratches glass lens cover and use a thin razor blade or something similar to pry it off. Then you can replace it with replacements like these: www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805410354461.html?pdp_npi=2%40dis%21USD%21%243.98%21%242.39%21%21%21%21%21%402101ead816900184297927652ef8ad%2112000033693631892%21btf&_t=pvid%3A3385f3ce-2c15-46dc-aa53-fa5b7db1fafe&afTraceInfo=1005005596669213__pc__pcBridgePPC__xxxxxx__1690018430&spm=a2g0o.ppclist.product.mainProduct&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

There it details "rated and typical capacity of battery", what does that really mean? Does it really have 5k mAh or 4900 said battery?
Sorry if my English is badly written, I'm using a translator.
every battery usually has a rated and a typical capacity. They are made to work at a certain level which is written and should function at a minimum level as well. So basically in easier terms, its like saying it can and should work at 5K but at the very minimum it should be working at 4900. But every battery degrades over time so yep.
is the location of the cpu and ram stacked?
yes
Poco f5 and redmi note 12 turbo use different screen, right? One is amoled and one is oled
yeah one is amoled other is oled. But not sure if they can be swapped. Wanted to see the topside speaker and its holes as the back vibrates a lot when played full volume. All other redmi phones had 4 speaker holes and this one had only 3 which is contributing to the poor speaker performance compared to other redmi phones.
I don't think the holes have anything to do with it, I just tried it on this one and the bottom has the sound vibrations too but that's normal since it's suppose to give a bit of bass and treble. It gives a more immersive sound. I would prefer this over dull none bass speakers which give to feedback. Now if it was the sound being muffled that would be a different story but its crisp n clear. I would say these speakers are actually better than that of previous redmi phones. Also you can go into the sound effects and adjust the settings in the phone if you don't want it to have as much bass or treble and mess with the equalizer n so forth to make it vibrate less. Hope this helps.
