As far as I know.. these beats and instruments are to be used for prayers in the place where it originated from.. not in other places. Chendai is perfectly suitable for hilly and green Kerala. For Tamil Nadu we have kummi, thaara thappu and many other ways of praying. It is best when we pray in native method to reap maximum blessings. In Maharashtra still they are sticking on to a kind of drum, sitar etc. This is a big science. Instruments are made from products we get around our house which is suitable for our use. When we take this chendai to uttar Pradesh for prayers, the quality of the instrument and sound might be poor and not give 100 percent benefit
