I miss these baby videos. Genki was very protective of Kintaro when he was born, all female gorillas are, but with her it was different. It wasn't long before she got pregnant with Gentaro by Momo when he first arrived. Human or animal, bonding experience is beautiful. With female gorillas carry their babies all the time when they are very small. It was so sad when Gentaro had to be hand raised by the keepers, and Genki didn't get him back til he was 10 months old. She was trained well on how to breast feed with Gentaro, but her milk output was in trouble. So with Kintaro, she was super prepared, and she wasn't going to let anyone take her baby again. The video with Gentaro trying to get Genki's attention after Kintaro was born, was so hilarious. He would play attack her, and he was super curious because Gentaro tried to touch him. Genki made me laugh because she held Kintaro in one arm, and shielded herself and baby from Gentaro's playful assault. These vintage family videos will always be treasured. ❤❤❤
