History: Assyrians are the indigenous people of modern day countries of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria; as Assyria once existed amongst these borders. Going to Iraq, the homeland of our ancestors, is a big deal, especially for those of us in the diaspora, as we are able to see where our lineage comes from.

Where is this village. I could not find it on the map
On Google it’s spelled as “Diyana” in the Soran District. However, the official signage when you enter the village it’s spelled “Diana.” The village is located not too far from the border of Iran

: Actually no , it is the Occupied Assyrian Region of Iraq or as simply known as Northern Iraq , you Kurds invaded us from Iran & Turkey and you are not native to Mesopotamia .
