Don't Mess with My Toot Toot Doug Kershaw Seattle

On1/16/ 2008 Doug Kershaw came to Seattle for a reunion show co-ordinated by Eric Apoe and Pat Hewitt, with Doug's extended band that hailed from Seattle in the '70's and 80's. The show was at Seattle Triple Door Club. This will be the 1st video from that show of one of America's foremost Folk Music legends. From left to right the band members are John Balmer Piano, Al Kaatz Guitar, Pat Hewitt Super 400 Guitar,Annie Rose DeArmas Guitar/Vocal,Greg Loeb Bass,Marty Vadalebene Drums, Doug Kershaw, Eric Apoe Drums, Max Paul Schwennsen Guitar (band leader and reason for all of us playing with Doug) Pete Pendras. Bill Shaw is another alternate Drummer (not in this Video) and Brian Smith Bass on one song, and of course Don Dodge Stage manager. There were also other players during those years....Ritchie ??? (Bass player who started with Max in 1974),Bruce Hewes bass, and songwriter Bill Carter Bass. We were the Cajun Army Corp, The Seattle Ana Men...and Women.....

In 1977, I was punchin cows as young lad down Patagonia, Arizona and heard Doug on a record for the first time. At first he left us scratching our heads (Cajun we never heard before, jus alota TexAzMex mix), but over a time he just kinda grows on you. After pulling a 12 yr stretch in the Army, I enlisted into the Navy then got benched at West Bank New Orleans, LA and thats when I ventured into the Cajun Swamps, got introduced to more Cajun Artist like Jo-El Sonnier, Waylon LeDeux and many others, I was HOOKED!

It's not dumb little song. At least the original wasn't. It was originally done by Rockin Sidney. He is a Grammy award winning Creole musician from Lebeau, LA.
