I just got one of these! And I replaced the belts and it works almost fine. I just have a lack of actually well made belts of the correct size, so there is a bit if flutter and the fast forward and rewind don't work very well because I didn't have a belt that was tight enough. All that aside everything else works great! These things are HUGE. Honestly it's the biggest "walkman" I've ever owned
Thank you for these videos! I've just picked one up. Wonder if you can tell me if you've found the speed adjustment inside or do you just set via the pitch adjust? Cheers, Paul
Great video, I have the same model and I still have the trouble that mine doesn’t even turn on (Unfortunately it received more power than the 6 volts, I hope replacing the capacitors works but who knows) however your video helped me to check how to open the cover and see more inside :)
I just took mine apart to clean it up, seemed like the tape wheels were a little squeaky. Put it back together and it won't work now. Not sure if I possibly broke a wire, but have no idea what to do now and there's not a lot of info online. Any suggestions?
I scraped off all the corrosion and it looks like all the copper is still intact. Not seeing any of it lifted off the board. I'm going to try redoing some of the solder and see if that fixes it. Edit: It didn't fix it. I tried looking at a wiring diagram and when I move one of the wires to a different spot an area of the board starts to get hot. To me that seems like there is definitely power getting through the board, but I'm still not getting moving wheels/gears. Also, I'm not getting my operation light to come on no matter where I place that wire I was moving between two spots.
I got mine back together and now play does nothing. rew & ffwd works. the two wires to the indicator light have come lose however I can't find anything else amiss 😢
I've the same model. But the problem with mine is, Balance wheel is not working properly. If i turn all the way up to left, it will play okayish both left and right channel. But does'nt work as intended

Hi, I normally just use the external adjustment wheel. I may open it back up again soon as I have a test tape, will let you know how I get on.
Not just pitch sorry, speed potentiometer
Hey!! I have a question where’d you get your replacement belts?

the cue bundles tape because there's no resistance on the rewind wheel, so the tape keeps spinning
The Sanyo M4430 was the 1st walkman my family had
That's cool! Mine was a very poor Saisho with no rewind key. I'm glad I have some decent ones now though.
Can you please make "fixing the sanyo m1010", mines wont play!?
is this only a cassette player or can you also record with it?
Fantastic!! a pleasant greeting friend, good channel !!
Thankyou! Glad you are liking my videos :)
Hey man what do u call the spray that you use to polish the exterior of the walkman
Hey it is a product called Mr.Sheen - it's basically furniture polish that leaves a nice sheen once its used :)
Thank you 🎵 I have MGR- 87
Cool, that's a nice machine!
@@monkeysyndicate thank you 😃🙋♂️👍

Also, in one area of the board the brighter green is flaking off, but it worked before
Hmmm it may be some of the copper has lifted off the board? thats the spot I would be worried about. Was there any corrosion there?
@@monkeysyndicate Looks like there is. I found a forum post that looked the same way my board does and he did some bodge wires in those places.
