  • What a gift it has been to celebrate the legacy of Debbie Friedman this week, with the largest number of people present in the sanctuary since December 2019, and so many participating online. We hope you enjoy such memorable moments, including people dancing in the aisles and everyone singing together, captured in this full concert video. We look forward to sharing many more concerts with you! Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom!
Featuring Bat Ella and Shira Kline, alongside Cantors Azi Schwartz, Mira Davis, Arielle Reisner, and Natasha Hirschhorn
    Producer: Eli Grunfeld
    Music Director: David Enlow
AV: Oscar Acevedo, Erik Van Batavia, Russell Miller

Debbie often came to Laguna Woods CA to visit her mother, Aunt and Sister. She often came to our Temple all for Seniors to teach us her songs.
She was everyone’s friend and left us her gift of her music.

Debbie , of blessed memory, grew up in St Paul,Mn & was a fixture in the twin cities of MPLS & St Paul. She was a major influence in the Jewish camps here. ✡️

Debbie walked in the footsteps of the Baal Shem Tov, Shlomo Carlebach and many others before them to bring joy and blessings at times of pain and sorrow. It is music that brings hope in troubled times. Today are such times in our world and we must find a way to once again have music bring peace to our hearts and souls. Let’s always remember John Lennon’s IMAGINE and do what we can to make his dream a reality. To plagiarize
If you will it it is not a Dream

I am privileged to have met Debbie z”l in the early’70s & as a friend she was an important part of my journey to become a new Jew, being an inspiration and bringing her music and energy to many life experiences starting with my wedding. She may longer be physically present however her spirit, music, energy are eternal.

I think some of these Cantors could easily have careers as solo artists or in Broadway musicals.
