Forget everything I said about getting the gladiator. This is my dream truck right here. From this day forward, I will be saving up for one (when it is pre owned, as a pre owned truck that is only a year old is almost $10,000 cheaper than brand new)
that 2 inch lift is pretty great for off road, its nice that its off road ready strait from the factory, otherwise you'd have to add all that stuff aftermarket where all those same extra parts arent covered by warranty, and your not devaluing your truck by adding them like you have to for other trucks you want to get off road ready. Plus it just looks so bad ass!
I bought this truck (diesel) about a week ago..... I can’t imagine how anyone buys another truck.... the truck is so good, with the diesel I’m averaging ~30mpg. If your in the fence, don’t be - buy it!

Hi Brian 😄. I'm not a truck man, but the GMC AT4 is impressive. Yesterday when I read that the 6 function tailgate would be demonstrated in this vid review I was not sure what to expect, and that is a great thing. Actually seeing how the 6 function tailgate works was awesome and different. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it. Again, I'm no truck man, but I was amazed by the AT4's functionality especially in the rear quarters with the indentation for extra headroom and storage compartment in the seat back.

The commentator did a great job! As for the truck the Ram is so much nicer and a better overall truck. And this truck can only tow 9500# that’s a joke!
The direct injection/Dynamic Fuel Management will cause problems down the road. Any money you save on fuel will be spent on carbon cleaning and collapsed lifters.
Yeah you probably are right, I used to have a honda with their vcim its same idea as gm, and it gave us a lot of problems. Hopefully this new gm won't be the same.
GMs new system doesn't always use the same cylinders to disable. They randomly disable so that they will all disable instead of the same cylinders all the time.
Still can't help but think this tailgate is such a gimmick for city slickers that don't actually use their trucks for what they are rated for... This might sound ford biased but at least you don't need a high end model to get a simple mechanical step that doesn't require you to remove a hitch off the truck everytime you want to get into the bed, especially when you tow quite often and/or the hitch is covered in crap from the roads or work sites. GM truck sales are a direct reflection on what the majority of truck buyers are already realizing on their own. Sorry but Dodge takes this year's nicest truck by far and even ford Q1 sales are dominating still. Interior in this truck looks soft and comfortable but definitely dated right out of the gate. Just my 2 cents
It's no more of a gimmick than Ford's tailgate step or Ram's new split tailgate. They're just add-ons meant to justify a higher price. Just like Ram's gimmicky 12 inch touch screen. Ram made a pretty truck but it's capability is mediocre. Terrible payload ratings, terrible real world fuel economy. And the reliabiliity and build quality of the 2019 Ram 1500's have been terrible so far. The forums are packed with people with transmission problems, engine problems, electrical issues, glitchy touchscreens, watching leaking in through the firewall because there are seams that weren't sealed, the brakes has squealing issues, etc. Ford sales are flat so far this year. The reason their sales are even holding flat is because they've started pushing for more sales to commercial and rental fleets. Not to mention some of their dealers are offering $20k off a 2019 F-150. Ford must have really loaded up on fleet sales in Q1 2019 because their sales report was missing a lot of details that have never been missing in sales reports in the past: data on the breakdown between retail and fleet saales, data on inventory, or SAAR numbers. They almost certainly didn't want to reveal that the only way they were able to maintain these flat Q1 sales numbers is because they made a significant increase in fleet sales to achieve it. 2019 will be a down year for F-series sales unless they raise incentives to an unprecedented level. It's not a surprise though. The F-150's interior quality is terrible thanks for the warp-prone plastics, the bodies of the trucks are awful, with all kinds of wavy defects and uneven body gaps. Some even have areas where the bodies are missing paint. The beds are another issue. Many that buy trucks for work and need a bed that's tough are realizing that aluminum beds have a durability problem. They crack, rip, and dent way too easily.

You would have to use the left side step and the handle to get in the box when you have a trailer on or a hitch in place for sure.
