This guy's has clearly gone to Gen Con several times and clearly it makes him very excited and happy. Such a great video and great energy to introduce people to what Gen Con is all about
@@chriseads4791 it doesn’t officially open Wednesday, the exhibit hall isn’t open. But people come to will call to get their badges and event tickets, go to the Gen Con store, then go over to The Stink at Union Station to meet and play games
A few minor notes I thought of while listening to the video: 4:43 Generally, you don't need electronic tickets up on your phone. They check/scan your badge for the ticket, not your phone. You can keep your phone in your pocket. 6:33 Starting this year, the trucks no longer rotate. The same trucks are going to be there from 9 am to 10pm, with a break in the middle for restocking. On the plus side, this does mean there's no longer a dead period mid-afternoon when all of the trucks are rotating in and out. 7:10 A bit late for this year, but Gate Ten parking has gone on sale considerably earlier than May in recent years. This year, they went on sale in mid-January. Just a note for next year.
I’m so happy it helped! 😁 we have a first timer going with us this year too, it’s always awesome to see someone’s first Gen Con. Come say hey if you see me out recording 🫶
To add..if you have mobility issues/disabilities, skip Will call and go to Guest services at the end of the Customer service row, they will send a runner for your tickets also get a wristband to not have to stand in line to get into events etc. They have chairs so you can sit while your tickets are fetched
HEY!!! I'm a lead demo agent for Catalyst Games Lab. Stop by Friday!!! In the gaming area!!! Would love to see you!!!!!! I'm running a tournament all day!!!!
Those going last minute or who lost bigly on their wishlists for events, be aware that the vast majority of seminar events will have no shows because they are free, and people will drop those if they feel too busy. So if you're interested in one, show up anyway. You'll most likely get in. And you don't even need a generic ticket. Just your badge. Don't let a seminar 'sell out' keep you away and missing out. Source: me - I've been running seminars at Gencon for about 10 years now, they almost always 'sell out' but attendance is typically about 75%.
@@TraveltheBoard Speaker for the seminar is supposed to get a count of how many no-tickets are there and put that on their ticket envelope for turning in. Seeing how many people actually show up, ticketed or not, is part of their decision making process in what rooms to put seminars in in the future.
Be sure to like the video and subscribe! I do daily vlogs at Gen Con every year so check those out and enjoy the fun! 😄

It is my favorite time of the year! On the drive home from Gen Con I am already starting plans for next year! 😄 Thanks for watching!
@TraveltheBoard hear hear!🎉
Thanks for covering a lot of aspects that other videos don't -- very helpful!
Happy to do it!!! 😁
This is our first GenCon, we got recommended your video at random. We subscribed! Hopefully we run into ya!
Thank you! 💜 Yes please come find me!
I just posted your video in the Gencon Discord
Thank you so much!!! 😁🫶💜
So excited for Gen Con 2024! 🙌😁
But but but...I need to do ALL OF THE THINGS!!!!!
This is my 14th gencon, and I still overdo it every year.
Don’t forget the 3-2-1 convention rule. Every day you need at least:
3 hours of sleep
2 meals
1 bath/shower
Beautiful! 😂 I definitely should have included that
From someone who has never been to GenCon but lives with you. I feel like I’ve experienced it with this video. 😊
You’ve heard me rattle on about it for years lol
This is going to be our first year going and this video has been a big help! This is such an amazing video!
Thank you so much! 💜 that was my whole goal was to help 😁
You will love it! I love meeting first timers. If you see me there vlogging come say hi!
Gen Con starts on Wednesday for me. Will Call for badges at noon and then pickup games all day with a break for food at the Block Party.
Same! Even the drive up we have so many amazing memories from, we make it a party bus for 7-8 hour drive lol
Where do you find pickup games ? Is the convention already open on Wednesday?

Awesome video! This is my fiance and i's first big convention. The tips were really helpful too, we appreciate it

I'm buying one of those backpacks just to wear around you 😂
You’re the worst type of person 🙃 just don’t thwack me with it lol
Oh no, that's the only reason to buy one for me 😂 #OnlyThwacks

This is an awesome tip. I actually went to a seminar once without a ticket and felt like the teenager who snuck into a movie 😂
@@TraveltheBoard LOL Love it!
At the end he took up tickets and I grabbed my bag and ducked out like I was avoiding the cops 🫠

That makes sense! Lol well now I know I’m not gonna get arrested by the Gen Con police I will make sure to spread that word to people
I like electronic tickets , the only issue I have is I know what games I had left based on how many tickets l had left
I can agree with that. I think every event should have the option for each one or both at checkout.
@@TraveltheBoard the one thing I like about electronic tickets is you have nothing but your badge to keep track of
