    I was 8 years old when it happened to me. I had the unfortunate memory of remembering everything. Still to this day I never told my family. Listening to these stories make me feel really good out there that not all heroes wear capes! Beautiful brother!

    I was molested for years by a family member. The family did nothing about it and protected him. Years later when I found out he'd been molesting my young cousins, I told all the parents of those children what he was doing and it was horrible. Everyone called me terrible names (I was a young teenager) and blamed me, a child. The police finally got involved and they found thousands of images in his room, many were pics of children in the neighborhood. The law sent him to prison but with the family standing up for him and making his life as comfortable as they could, left me feeling as though he was still getting away with what he'd done. I eventually learnt he'd been regularly beaten and 'other' things. Knowing that someone finally really held him accountable, gave me a sense of peace and I was able to move forward in my life without that weight holding me back. Someone stood up for all those children he'd damaged. I'm not happy about his suffering. He put himself in that position.

      I can relate to you. My uncle started on me when he came to our house on leave from Vietnam, and when he went back, i remember feeling safe, but he came back after the war to live with us!! It went on for years, and my own brother was starting with me. It finally stopped when i was 16. i went off on my brother. I almost killed him.

    • @melissarmt7330
      @melissarmt7330 3 місяці тому

      I am so sorry. In regards to your brother, it's likely that he was also abused by the uncle. When young, those first sexual experiences really make a mark on us and it's hard to learn what is it that you want and what is it that your body is just responding to. Our bodies don't have a conscience but you do. I hope you're able to salvage your relationship with your brother and help one another to heal. @@K9-Crazy

    My earliest memory in life is being molested by my mother’s boyfriend from ages 3-6. I’ve recently looked him up and he’s currently serving a 15 year bid for acts on a different minor. His name is James Tyler and he’s in Missouri DOC. I never told on him. I didn’t even know it was wrong until I was 16. I had apparently blocked out my memories but while I was doing a 2 month inpatient program at 16 years old I was speaking with counselors and it all came back to me almost immediately. God bless ANYONE who hurts someone that harms a child. It left me broken and VERY confused for all of my childhood. And some of adulthood. I even questioned my own sexuality because of this man. I know for a fact that this type of abuse will hurt a child for their entire lives because it absolutely ruined me mentally…. in many ways.. I love this guy!

    I’ve had the good fortune to meet and befriend former prisoners, over 33 years of work and 58 yrs of life protecting children and the vulnerable. There is only one place and one group of people in Canadian society where children and vulnerable people are truly safe- in prisons and/or around former prisoners. Schools, Hospitals, Institutions, group homes, foster homes…they all fail. Someone always cracks, looks the other way, worries about their own shit. They all fail to protect! When it comes to Goofs (what we call chomos here in Canada), Prisoners and criminals NEVER sleep, NEVER look the other way, NEVER pass the buck, Never forgive, Always punish. Any of my colleagues out there who don’t like this message….go fuck yourselves and stay out our way. Thank you for your work here. You are a good man giving back more than you ever took. I never considered myself a child SA victim. I was recounting a story to a friend that I only ever told my wife before. TLDR: at about 9 yr/old an older boy, about 15, tried to pin me in a pool. Lets just say I could feel what he was trying to do. I was able to turn the tables on him. I was choking and trying to drown him for it, half drowning my self in the process. My brother pulled me off him to keep me from killing him (to keep me out of legal trouble). Being able to do this I never felt like a victim. I can imagine what it would be like for those who couldn't fight back. Steve N. did what no one did for all of those who couldn't fight back. SA offenders have offended multiple times before being convicted the first time. They will reoffend. It's a matter when, not if. They should be permanently removed from society.

    Abuse can truly ruin a child's entire life, any kid that can survive such horrors is a hero. I was never into crime, but my childhood experiences lead me down a path of mental illness that I still haven't fixed. When I see people that have been able to overcome all that shit and lead happy, healthy lives, it really warms my heart. That makes me so sad but my experience was opposite I wasn't r***d or anything as a child but my first husband and the father to my kids messed with my 14yr old sister and I didn't wanna believe her he'd gotten me pregnant only 6 months after having my daughter and then went to prison lying to me the whole time destroyed my whole family and my mind.... my son was born 2 weeks early and had to have heart surgery at 6 days old.... started doing meth via IV for the first time in my life lost my kids to their grandmother cause I couldn't raise them myself because I was just lost young and naive... he was 23 when we first started dating and I was 16..... should've figured but I thought I was more grown up then I really was..... mind fuckery is up there with physical abuse..... bones and bruises heal..... but since I've been clean for 4yrs now and getting lots of peer support and therapy from ppl wide been in the life, I'm closer with my kids my daughter is 12 and my son will be 11 on the 1st of March.... I hope you have family or even friends that are like family to help support you because without mine and my nieces, nephew and my kids I don't think I'd be anywhere mentally stable like I am right now
      Idk how you'd feel about seeing a therapist or anything that might could help you to learn how to live better with your passed experiences but I truly hope you find a way to not let the past control ur future I hate any of the stuff happened to you and I pray karma will give the punishment to whomever did this to you, but pray more that your life can be better for you and you have lots of love and support!!!!! This world needs to stick together and those with horrible past experiences should all stick together I think that's something America should do to finally unite us all! But I honestly hope and pray your life can be the best it can be ❤ sorry for rambling I just wanted to hopefully help you know you're not alone or maybe inspire you to try and find a outlet for those bad memories and emotions and allow yourself to heal the best way you can! You can be a hero to hun even just sharing with others your experiences you might find others who need help too and you can help them and yourself...... I don't know you and you don't know me but I'm hoping to become a peer support myself and hope to help at least one person a day when I feel like they need help and ur my person today!! I hope I've helped in some way to inspire you....

I still have nightmares and night terrors from the things that happened to me. It destroyed my developing mind growing up, the damage that's caused to children who are S*xually abused is irreversible. These types of people are so sick and Im glad that these chomos get the karma they deserve for their disgusting actions. If theres anyone who reads this message and youve been through similar experiences, please let me know of any trauma therapy groups that I could get in touch with. Didn't even know it at the time but got pulled for speeding and the guy in the passenger seat bugged out and they found his gun under the seat. When they caught up to the guy he even said "don't arrest doug, he didn't even know it was there" but they got him anyway and he served his time. RIP big man

      @@JdDelay5150 I'm sorry you had to suffer from the monster that did that to you. You're right we never know what someone had to endure to choose that path. It doesn't justify committing crimes, but our prison system needs to do a better job rehabilitating these people even if they are there for life. Like homeless there is no black and white solution, but there are better solutions than many of the ones we've been implementing for decades.

      Adverse Childhood Experiences have been shown to be linked to serious health problems later in life, and growing up with abuse causes children to not securely attach to their caregivers, which has lifelong consequences as well. Among inmates, cluster B personality disorders are common, with antisocial PD being the highest represented in prison populations. PDs develop typically as a result of childhood abuse and trauma and cause a lot of behavioral problems, which is where the intersection with criminality is found. Learning about developmental psychology as a rape victim myself has taught me so much about how and why I’ve made choices I have and how to avoid being victimized further. I think anyone who’s experienced problems in their lives, whether they end up in prison or not, can benefit from learning this stuff and considering how it relates to their lives. You can’t heal if you don’t know where the wound is.

      just recentely a pred. hunter got 3 years in prison for this. While at the same time 8 migrants r4p3d a 15 year old girl in a park and beat + filmed her doing this.
