Hello Dr. Lee!!! In the textbook I used to study for the CNA exam, it mentioned raising the bed to waist level in order to maintain proper body mechanics. However. you omitted that step, so I was wondering if it is necessary?
Hello Gary, I don't teach my student to raise the bed to waist level during the state exam because the student might forget to lower the bed and this would put the patient in an unsafe position and fail the student. In real life, I would say, Yes raise the bed. Not on the state exam. It is NOT required.
