I haven't seen anyone mention this, but trolldier could also be a good backup money-grabber. garden a bot on the way in, grab as much money as you can, and jump out before the bots aggro on you.

Give the Market Gardener a "Crits on Airborne kill" upgrade. He can jump in Market Garden a bot then go Ham. Though I feel you'd still want a Damaging Rocket Launcher

A market garden crit deels a burst of damage to groups of regular bots One Issue with this Idea is the Trolldier is focused on hitting one enemy at a time, so explosive Crits (like Snipers explosive Headshots) would allow the weapon decent Crowd control. Combined with Crits on Kill so he can just run around after wards and pick off any bots that survived
Mantreads upgrade ideas: 1. Earthquake boots: landing on the ground from a high alititude causes a shockwave from the player outward, stunning nearby robots momentarily. The higher the fall, the bigger the shockwave and longer the stun. 2. Damage reduction: decrease the amount of damage taken from rocket jumping and fall damage: max level also decreases flinching in the air from bullet damage. 3. Airial momentum: increases turn movement and allows player to increase speed in one direction by move in that direction, however, this also increases the force of gravity on you. Basically, you can turn better and even move somewhat to certain directions by hitting the move keys, but you fall faster, as well. Including if you use the jumper. Finally, 4. Spring loaded: on successfully landing on an enemy, you have a short time to jump again and launch up again for another drop. One activates once, recharges as you land on the ground (and not just a b-hop) and launches at a fixed altitude. Not affordable if airial momentum is already purchased. If earthquake boots are also purchased, the second jump will not activate upgrade. That’s at least my ideas, i’d love to hear whatever anyone ease comes up with. Also, i’m giving the go-ahead if anyone’s a modder and mods this into an mvm server, i’d just like a shoutout for the idea.

I think Trolldier could be made viable if you have an upgrade that, say, causes AoE damage to enemies when you deal crit damage to an enemy with a melee weapon, with the AoE being regular damage or mini-crits. On top of that, also give Soldier, and maybe even Demo and Pyro by extent, damage and knockback resistance upgrades that take effect when they're in the air. There's just so much that Valve could do for MvM to make all kinds of playstyles actually viable and not overly OP, if only they still cared about MvM...

The more I watch soundsmith the more I appreciate the little things, including the sound(definitely in this video, it always seems to get better)! BUT, the fact that sound went out of his way to either make or commission THAT THUMBNAIL is an amazing amount of dedication to stupidity, and I, for one, am here for it.
How to make trolldier viable in mvm: 1. 400 cash upgrade, 4 tiers, explosive crit, each upgrade increases the additional damage of the explosion + radius of the explosion, market gardner only 2. Replace rocket jumper damage and health on kill upgrade with knockback increasing upgrades, allowing longer distance jumps and the potential to send bots flying back through the map like super airblast 3. Give mantreads a special upgrade where knockback + damage reduction is retained on landing, allowing for safe escapes, 1 tier adds an additional second to allow for crazy multiple gardens in a row, refreshing the buff constantly
My ideas for upgrades: Manntreads: when landing after a rocket jump a small radius makes enemies jump (basically like Thermal Thruster but for Soldier) and maybe a upgrade to make Soldier a little faster while he's out of rocket, kinda like the escape plan Market Gardener: like in the video after hitting someone the kill will make a explosive radius wich hurts nearby bots
Actually, Mantreads damage is based on velocity, not height. So if you go down really quickly, you'll deal more damage There is also a bug that allows Mantreads damage to multiply if you land on a soldier who is also wearing Mantreads, who in turn can do it to another Soldier, and you can probably see where this is going
Well...it's not necessarily a bug. The Mantreads deal fall damage to whoever you land on, and the Mantreads take the fall damage and multiplies it. The game doesn't care WHERE the damage comes from, it just looks for the type, which happens to be fall. If, for instance, the mantreads did the same for bullet damage, it would deal that through his feet whenever he got shot with bullets.
Immediately liked the video, whenever Soundsmith uploads it's an immediate day changer! From bad to amazing. The uploads may take longer from time to time but they always bring a smile to my face
New melee idea: The Field Miner (please someone come up with a better name) When loaded: attack becomes explosive and deals Crits to the main target while the wielder is rocket jumping 20% slower firing speed Must be reloaded on attack No random critical hits During the robot war, While bashing in the heads of his mechanical counterparts, soldier had the thought of making his shovel explosive too! After threatening engineer, and getting a little help from demoman he had a shovel of mass destruction. (a thickened pickaxe made of a reinforced alloy, with an attachment for rockets/pills/other explosives. (leaving them exposed)

You just paste in a WAV file named mm_match_end_win_music_casual for match victories (paste it in your custom ui folder), or your_team_won for game victories (this one goes in a custom folder called "misc"; think it has to be an MP3, but I paste both a WAV and MP3 in my file just to be sure).

To be fair quick fix has always been one of the best options for medic in mvm. It lets you absolutely spam shield with it's fast healing and self healing, so you can use the shield to actually be a respectable damage medic in a way that's also useful to team.
5:11 Possible level 2 after getting explode on Garden: You take knockback (and damage if not using the jumper) from these explosions, essentially letting you jump again without needing to fire another rocket.
Mantreads: Upgrade 1: damage up Upgrade 2: healing after kill Upgrade 3: Knockback (kind of hard to say where the knockback should be, probably upwards, like you stomp and in an area the bots just get blown upwards, double edge sword) Upgrade 4: gravity up (making you land harder and more quick) Upgrade 5: less fall damage (final level going to 90 damage reduction) Upgrade 6: extra bounty (extra money per kill, because let’s be real, who would go on their way to stomp if you can just market) Market gardener: Upgrade 1: damage up Upgrade 2: swing speed up Upgrade 3: frenzy! (Hella fast speed swing speed for up to 4 seconds {only after successful market garden}) Upgrade 4: Explosive kill (only when successful market gardening {no damage to wearer}) Upgrade 5: crits (up to 4 seconds) Upgrade 6: After image (basically multi hit attack, one successful market = up to 5 market gardens {doesn’t stack with explosion market})
I actually got to fuck around with randoms once on the last round of Manhattan in boot camp I believe because the final wave was just 2 tanks and a bunch and weak supports (we had already reached max tank shredding) so I ran disposable just for shits and giggles (and someone suggested to run double minis i didnt have a chance for that though) it seems like boot camp is way more forgiving of doing dumb shit
A damage upgrade option for the Market Gardener would make it more viable for Medic picks and good burst damage against giants. Same goes for the Mantreads, with both a damage upgrade and explosive stomp, it would be like the explosive headshot, but likely stronger considering how you have to get into a favorable position to stomp. Overall, it would be silly, but makes this niche more interesting.
Potential buffs could be something along the lines of Rocket Jumper: -Rocket knockback +15% per upgrade (to self and enemies, but probably just to the soldier though it would make it easier to get out of jumping directly into 20 enemies and toss them around, kinda like a scorch shot around you) Mantreads: -Explosive stomps (probably just one upgrade) -Air control +15% per upgrade -Fall damage resistance (don't know how much to put, or if it'd be even worth it) -Slowing stomps (akin to how the Natasha slows things down, but this one would help it more to solidify it as having a role against giants, since slowing them down while also dealing explosive damage could make the ubered giants less of a problem) Market Garden: -Crit damage (so it'd make sure that it isn't an instant tank killer, but a viable option for "I want this thing dead now") -Marked for death on crit (again, to solidify the "I want it dead")
I love the idea of the explosive market gardener, because taking one of his shovels and just tying a landmine to it is 100% something soldier would do

One Issue with this Idea is the Trolldier is focused on hitting one enemy at a time, so explosive Crits (like Snipers explosive Headshots) would allow the weapon decent Crowd control. Combined with Crits on Kill so he can just run around after wards and pick off any bots that survived
Mantreads upgrade ideas:
1. Earthquake boots: landing on the ground from a high alititude causes a shockwave from the player outward, stunning nearby robots momentarily. The higher the fall, the bigger the shockwave and longer the stun.
2. Damage reduction: decrease the amount of damage taken from rocket jumping and fall damage: max level also decreases flinching in the air from bullet damage.
3. Airial momentum: increases turn movement and allows player to increase speed in one direction by move in that direction, however, this also increases the force of gravity on you.
Basically, you can turn better and even move somewhat to certain directions by hitting the move keys, but you fall faster, as well. Including if you use the jumper.
Finally, 4. Spring loaded: on successfully landing on an enemy, you have a short time to jump again and launch up again for another drop.
One activates once, recharges as you land on the ground (and not just a b-hop) and launches at a fixed altitude. Not affordable if airial momentum is already purchased. If earthquake boots are also purchased, the second jump will not activate upgrade.
That’s at least my ideas, i’d love to hear whatever anyone ease comes up with.
Also, i’m giving the go-ahead if anyone’s a modder and mods this into an mvm server, i’d just like a shoutout for the idea.

I think Trolldier could be made viable if you have an upgrade that, say, causes AoE damage to enemies when you deal crit damage to an enemy with a melee weapon, with the AoE being regular damage or mini-crits. On top of that, also give Soldier, and maybe even Demo and Pyro by extent, damage and knockback resistance upgrades that take effect when they're in the air. There's just so much that Valve could do for MvM to make all kinds of playstyles actually viable and not overly OP, if only they still cared about MvM...

How to make trolldier viable in mvm:
1. 400 cash upgrade, 4 tiers, explosive crit, each upgrade increases the additional damage of the explosion + radius of the explosion, market gardner only
2. Replace rocket jumper damage and health on kill upgrade with knockback increasing upgrades, allowing longer distance jumps and the potential to send bots flying back through the map like super airblast
3. Give mantreads a special upgrade where knockback + damage reduction is retained on landing, allowing for safe escapes, 1 tier adds an additional second to allow for crazy multiple gardens in a row, refreshing the buff constantly
My ideas for upgrades:
Manntreads: when landing after a rocket jump a small radius makes enemies jump (basically like Thermal Thruster but for Soldier) and maybe a upgrade to make Soldier a little faster while he's out of rocket, kinda like the escape plan
Market Gardener: like in the video after hitting someone the kill will make a explosive radius wich hurts nearby bots

Actually, Mantreads damage is based on velocity, not height. So if you go down really quickly, you'll deal more damage
There is also a bug that allows Mantreads damage to multiply if you land on a soldier who is also wearing Mantreads, who in turn can do it to another Soldier, and you can probably see where this is going
Well...it's not necessarily a bug. The Mantreads deal fall damage to whoever you land on, and the Mantreads take the fall damage and multiplies it. The game doesn't care WHERE the damage comes from, it just looks for the type, which happens to be fall. If, for instance, the mantreads did the same for bullet damage, it would deal that through his feet whenever he got shot with bullets.

To be fair quick fix has always been one of the best options for medic in mvm. It lets you absolutely spam shield with it's fast healing and self healing, so you can use the shield to actually be a respectable damage medic in a way that's also useful to team.

Upgrade 3: Knockback (kind of hard to say where the knockback should be, probably upwards, like you stomp and in an area the bots just get blown upwards, double edge sword)
Upgrade 4: gravity up (making you land harder and more quick)
Upgrade 5: less fall damage (final level going to 90 damage reduction)
Upgrade 6: extra bounty (extra money per kill, because let’s be real, who would go on their way to stomp if you can just market)
Market gardener:
Upgrade 1: damage up
Upgrade 2: swing speed up
Upgrade 3: frenzy! (Hella fast speed swing speed for up to 4 seconds {only after successful market garden})
Upgrade 4: Explosive kill (only when successful market gardening {no damage to wearer})
Upgrade 5: crits (up to 4 seconds)
Upgrade 6: After image (basically multi hit attack, one successful market = up to 5 market gardens {doesn’t stack with explosion market})

I actually got to fuck around with randoms once on the last round of Manhattan in boot camp I believe because the final wave was just 2 tanks and a bunch and weak supports (we had already reached max tank shredding) so I ran disposable just for shits and giggles (and someone suggested to run double minis i didnt have a chance for that though) it seems like boot camp is way more forgiving of doing dumb shit
Soundsmith at the start: Why are there no upgrades. This is gonna suck.
Soundsmith at the end: NO FEAR!
A damage upgrade option for the Market Gardener would make it more viable for Medic picks and good burst damage against giants.
Same goes for the Mantreads, with both a damage upgrade and explosive stomp, it would be like the explosive headshot, but likely stronger considering how you have to get into a favorable position to stomp.
Overall, it would be silly, but makes this niche more interesting.

Potential buffs could be something along the lines of
Rocket Jumper:
-Rocket knockback +15% per upgrade (to self and enemies, but probably just to the soldier though it would make it easier to get out of jumping directly into 20 enemies and toss them around, kinda like a scorch shot around you)
Mantreads:
-Explosive stomps (probably just one upgrade)
-Air control +15% per upgrade
-Fall damage resistance (don't know how much to put, or if it'd be even worth it)
-Slowing stomps (akin to how the Natasha slows things down, but this one would help it more to solidify it as having a role against giants, since slowing them down while also dealing explosive damage could make the ubered giants less of a problem)
Market Garden:
-Crit damage (so it'd make sure that it isn't an instant tank killer, but a viable option for "I want this thing dead now")
-Marked for death on crit (again, to solidify the "I want it dead")
