What an impressive video. WOW. Those old timers .... Really impressive
That was totally awesome touring of the Copper Queen Mine. Now let's go to the Copper Queen Hotel for a night's stay then stop by the Hospital first thing in the morning. I'm not scared of no Ghost. Even if documentation has it as so Haunted Mr. Jeff Williams had to check the back of his seat, make sure nothing was getting loose. Thanks' Mr. Jeff for looking, we wouldn't let you in the car any other way!
hahaahhaah Thanks
Thank you for producing vids with clean language and content that my daughter and I can enjoy together.
+Ryan Trobaugh You betcha Ryan, that is always the way we like to make them and really glad to hear that you two are spending good quality time together watching me and Slim
Jeff and Slim
I think Jeff Williams would make a better tour guide! Thanks for the video! Looks like some great vacation destinations from boring old Michigan!
Hey, we got plenty of mining in Upper Michigan!
@@BubblewrapHighway The Keweenaw area is on my list of places to spend a week exploring! I did the Adventure Mine tour last summer, it was awesome!
Sweet! Hey you know riding backwards is great... You get to see where you've been... Thanks again for another great episode Jeff.
+mobiltec always a pleasure and hope to see ya out in the Goldfields .
Jeff and Slim
Wow this was just amazing! I don't think I ever tanked you so thank you Jeff for all this that you do. Many don't know how much work it takes to make these videos. You (and slim) do such a great job, panning the camera around to let us feel like were there.
We have a saying in the oilfield, "that was back when men were made of steel and the equipment was wooden." Today this generation could never do this kind of work. Just watching a show like yukon gold or gold rush will demonstrate that.
This is a real treat, Thank you.
As always Jeff is great company, and our own tour guide. Thats luxury compared to a coal mine I toured.
it's always a great day starting out with one of your videos because your not all grouchy like that old tour guide. Thank you for showing us the way!
I think he use to work there cause he showed us a pic of him in the 70s . He a good guy though....I am sure he has seen a lot.Glad you liked the video
That was a great tour. Thank you for all of the hard work you put into these videos. Very entertaining, and educational.
thanks
very nice tour , the riding shuttles were awesome. we have a mine here in placerville(hangtown) called the gold bug mine, which does tours.
I also wanted to thank you for this video...........very interesting and educational!
It's hard to keep up with you Jeff. You are always busy. I just stumbled upon this video. It's one of my favorites from you. Thanks for this. I learned alot.
I know...right....and glad to hear that.
I went on that tour many years ago. Thanks for bringing back a good memory.
+Katie Hibbs it's a lot of fun huh.
Jeff and Slim
Really cool tour but I would jump off of the train and have a real good explore of the mine on foot. I have one of those muckers. Really cool it is called a Rocker shovel and runs on compressed air!
Thanks and we would love to do that but they might get mad and lock us in so we have to be a tourist and thanks for the info.....we always called it a mucking machine.
JS
We recently went down 2000 feet in a gold mine in Victoria Australia. Woods Point. It was hot and humid. I tell ya there were a few that had to get out and could not stay in the mine. I loved it and at the deepest point we saw gold in the quartz veins. Awesome.Loved your Vid
+TheBigbopster wow that sounds great and nothing like native reef gold.
Jeff and slim
The first lumberyard in Arizona was built by the Wood family, about 1898. It was there for the mine company "Phelps Dodge Company" to acquire oak timbers to shore up walls and overhead areas where needed in the 2500+ miles of underground mines. Built next to the Lavender Pit which was an open mining pit.
What an awesome, educational video! I don't think I've ever seen the "timber dogs" that you pointed out. Yep, they sure do look like giant staples. Loved every minute of the video. Thanks, Jeff!
+Exploring Abandoned Mines in CA, NV, and AZ Thanks Frank thought you might like this one. I always like looking at your vids too cause I am looking for deposits in the stopes that might have some values in them hahaha. Thanks and take care my friend
Jeff and Slim
LOL You watch my videos looking for possible deposits to mine, and I watch your videos looking for new abandoned mines to explore!
Very interesting. Great info! Thanks for the tour.
Wow! That brought back some memories... In my younger years I worked all over the mining industry... first in the coal mines of southern Alberta and BC... Then I went up to the Yukon and did time in an asbestos mine and northern BC to another asbestos mine. There is an entire mountain of Jade, very close to the town site... After that I went to Eldorado Nuclear, mining Uranium... That mine went down 1200 feet, if I remember right... Down at the 1000 foot mark, I took a tram ride (like the one you did in the video), to the Winze... There, the top and bottom were underground... I worked off, in drifts, which centered on the winze... I did several jobs, operated a Clam (Mucker), Tram and other equipment... :-)
+DStray Cat wow thanks for sharing that, sounds like you been in mines most of your life too. I would guess then that you had to use a Jack Leg all day . I remember sometimes it would get away from some of the guys and the steel would catch in the face and kick that leg up . That is why you want to stand off to one side .
Jeff and Slim
Sounds like your done a lot of time in the mining. Good story thanks.Cheers from "Australia"
+Ask Jeff Williams yes jeff best miner cheers from the uk ( england)
haha he wasn't feelin the c'mon lets go on the ride back out with the head lamp in his face, but he pulls thru for the fans and delivers!
thanks Jeff, never been down that deep before! That was quite a ride.
Man this is a good vid. You can explain a lot and keep it interesting. You got me hooked bro. Keep them coming.
Great video and I liked how you brought the Tour Miner out and got more information out of him.
Thanks for the tour, very interesting...Nice seeing Slim..
Thanks
It's hard to decide which total for that mine is more impressive - the amount of Gold brought out of it, or the amount of Copper. That must have been a huge operation in its heyday.
And thank you for taking the time to bring this to us, Jeff. I've long found this kind of thing interesting.
I enjoyed the video, Jeff. Mine tours are always cool. It takes a lot of thought and work to do videos. We appreciate your efforts for this great programming. Keep them coming.
+indyme2 Thanks and yes they do , some more then others and we are really glad you like them , we have more on the way and are always open for requests.
Jeff and Slim
Next summer, I'm backpacking around Isle Royale, MI. There's an ancient copper mine I want to see with the purest copper _known_ on earth, with wood tool handles with a carbon dated age of 5,700 years.
I'm primarily going to be looking for chlorastrolite and Lake Superior agate, but they're illegal to remove from the island, so I'm just going to take pictures of them and leave them there. 😉
awesome vid Jeff keep it up!
I have only one problem....Mines, caves etc are just damm eerie! to far to fall or get trapped in. went threw the Mammoth caves in Kentucky as a kid and what an adventure that was....I always think about it....Ya never forget the experience...You should look it Up Jeff they used to mine salt peter out of them during the civil war days and you can still see the miners footprints etc and equipment just as it lay....they blocked off all that area to preserve it for people to visit and see....beautiful site to see none the less....Indians used to go down in the caves to chip minerals to make paints etc...such history...check it out Jeff it would make a great adventure for you and all of us....See ya! Jon
+fyrbrand45 thanks and we will do that.
Jeff and Slim
Good to see you. Wishing you and Slim the best
+Bridgette Brown Thanks Bridgette, long time we haven;t heard from you and thanks you too.
Jeff and Slim

+Patrick Trousdale Thanks real happy to hear that and we will.
Jeff and Slim
MY HOME !!!! WE LOVE YOU JEFf
I really enjoy your videos
Throwback Jeff Williams. I found a 400 gram crystalline copper nuggy in this area. Silver and gold in it too its one of my coolest finds ever
wow .... that is a beautiful specimen .....that area always has cool finds
Nice to see how things were done. .I worked as a drift and ramp development miner at kidd creek.Qne of the deepest base metal mines for ten years ,it was 9800 meters.I now work at a local gold mine, jack legs and stopers are almost never used. Now we use Mac lean bolters ,two boom jumbo, six yard scoops and 40 ton trucks. Even stopes are done with long hole drills. As of this year no more open raise .Canadian mining is becoming very automated .You should look up Timmins Ontario mining history the city with the heart of gold, you might find it interesting
Such a cool tour and awesome video. Thanks for sharing Jeff.
That was really neat! Love seein' these old mines!
Thanks Jeff & Slim... mines are cool... we have Sovereign Hill in Ballarat ( Vic , Australia ) where you can go down in them... but im not so good underground...hehe... so I really enjoyed your trip...Best wishes ... oh, we also have Gold mines still in operation here too !
+Anthony Magic wow that sound like some fun there and glad you liked our little trip .
Jeff and Slim
Hi Jeff, thanks for the tour really cool, Ill post it on my Face book page. Regards Tom
+Tom Larkins Hey thanks Tom for that happy to hear that you lied it and we always love being under ground so you know it was fun for us.
Jeff and Slim
Great video buddy . I was detecting an old mining area the other day . Ground more iron than soil . Tough but I still managed 3 silvers . Good luck mate .
So awesome! I will be adding that to my bucket list for sure .
In that first left once you
enter some miners died in a cave in. About 15 years ago during Halloween a volunteer passed away as he was working on a corner. Their haunted mine during Halloween is seriously the real thing.
Yeeehaaaaw great journey lad thanks for taking us along that sure was some cool dude no sh@t tour guide all the best from Ireland folks
+jaffyger Thanks and our pleasure and yes he was . Thanks.
Jeff and Slim
Hi Buckskin Joe, Really liked your underground mine tour. The Queen Mine is quite a full experience tour - hardhats, a long tram ride, and old miners for tour guides. I forgot about the three types of miners - very interesting. Your Arizona trip looks like it was a lot of fun and provided great subject material for your videos. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. Say hi to Silver Spurs Lilia, Pops, Slim, and Nevada Jack - Jake, John, California Andy. Who did I miss? Oh, Jeff! Can't forget Jeff. See you all real soon at the Chicken & Rib Shack. Take care.
+Steve Mazzara not to shabby huh. Yes it was and we have more vids on the way too. Thanks for the wonderful comments and everyone says Hi back and yes see ya soon my friend.
Jeff and Slim

Jeff and Slim

+1uptospeed Thanks and we had a lot of fun making it too.
Jeff and Slim
Wow! That's pretty cool! Could you imagine what it would be like if there was an earthquake while you were down there?? I would be like So C'mon Lets Go get outta here!!! Thanks for sharing Jeff and Slim!!!
Awesome upload, *****
+solodog71 Thanks glad you liked it.
Jeff and Slim
Just as an FYI for you, Jeff; copper and gold are quite commonly found together if the rock is Potassic Igneous. Better get your detector out, because even then, copper prices are rising! (Platinum is cheaper than gold as well, surprisingly, so if you have any futures in those metals, shift accordingly!)
Amazing place!!! Thanks for sharing this!
hey jeff nice video man! really enjoyed it. tell old roy to make some more videos soon too. thanks!
+Hill Bros. Thanks and I will tell him.
Jeff and Slim
;)
ah ha I knew there was something I liked about you....
my name is Jeff too and I love exploring mines with you
Nice tour
thanks guys for the great informational video on mines that was a blast...oh ! you know what I mean!
Thanks.
Thoroughly enjoyed, many thanks cobber!
+Terence Morrison always like hearing that.
Jeff and Slim
Great tour! That mine is insanely huge! I am surprised there was no loss on oxygen in that massive/deep of a mine.
Mines that big have teams of engineers to prevent any such thing feom happen. There is lots of regulation to large scale mining now a days..one of the reasons why mines have become much safer.
Great video there Jeff. It's great for me, the less fortunate one here in Australia to be able to explore with ya. Ahhh Ha, was that the wife I spied in the glass before you added the ghost skull, lol, how about you introduce her as your camera person/team. Once again Jeff, and outstanding and very informative video and I sure do look forward to you posting them and as always lookin' forward to the next one...
Cheers mate
+Jacques Coomans Thanks and yes it was, would love to but she insists on being on the other side of the camera but you can see her in some of our older vids. Thanks for the awesome comments and we have more on the way.
Jeff and Slim

just a side note mate, with the HD video you make and my big screen monitor it's like I'm really there. It's a shame that 3D cameras are so expensive otherwise I'd totally enourage you to make vids in 3D. The one thing that sets your videos apart from the rest is that ( for example ) the cameras not just focused on a pan or a sluice. The back drop makes all the difference and the amount of action/ things going on around you and the scenery makes the movie and best of all, it makes you watch it over and over again and there's always things you didn't see before. Absolutely never stop filming Bud, your not only educational, but informative, detailed, humorous and entertaining. I really hope that UA-cam has a golden globe award ( don't really know the ins and outs ) cause you deserve one. If it does, then I need a nomination form. Keep up the good work, look forward to an Outback Jeff and Slim episode ( I'll nag you till you come out lol )
Cheers to you, the little lady, Slim and last but not least Nevada Jack
Well I have to say to say thank you very much for the outstanding comments and we always try to add more in to each shot as is possible and truth be known we actually add small bits or Easter eggs of clues in each video for the hard core viewer . Everyone here really appreciates your comments and it is those types or responses that we always hope to hear. One day soon we will be in the Outback making vis in the Golden Triangle ( Victoria ) and hope to see you there. Take Care my friend.
Jeff, Silver Spurs Lila , Nevada Jack and of course Slim
+Ask Jeff Williams Jeff and gang, well that's even better news than I was expecting. I live in Melbourne, only an hour from Ballarat ( tip of the golden triangle ) so please let me know when your going to be here and I'll be there with bells on, and I'm pretty sure ( if you let me know when you would be coming ) I would be more than honored to publicize through the prospecting community here in Aus and you would have a fan following that would also like to meet you. So until that day my friend, you and the crew take care, keep the vids and the color in the pan coming, and look forward to hearing the words " The Victorian Golden triangle is where I'm heading so y'all know what I'm gonna say.... so come on, LET'S GO !!!!! "
Great Jeff, wish I could join you on this tour.
3,100 feet holy moly !
best video yet, keep them coming 💰💰💰
+Sam Johnstone Thanks there Sam and you betcha.
Jeff and Slim
Thanks Jeff I enjoyed the ride!!
+WyattEarp387 Thanks Ron really glad to hear that and we have so many more on the way we just need time to release them.
Jeff and Slim
Hi Jeff, that was an awesome tour and very educational. Gly gave you a shout out. I'm glad he did. I have a question I'm curious about. The mines Gly has shown. Why did the miners leave unused dynamite, the equipment, and tools in the mines when abandoned?
many reasons why .....some went to War and never came back ....mines were shut down and men told to leave everything ....Labor disputes .......the list goes on
@@Askjeffwilliams
Jeff thankyou for replying back.
Nice show Jeff!
Thanks Leslie.
Looks like more fun than the Calico mine in Knotts Berry farm.
8 billion pounds of copper!! Damn son! 🤯
Cool video. Sweet mine.

+Paul Huver Thanks and he actually had to stay behind to keep an eye on our Gold mine.
Jeff and slim
I loved this video!!
Was that a cameo by Slim? Great tour! When are you touring the Nevada mines?
+native nevadan very good and yes it was he is in almost all of them if you look carefully . We start the mine tours next month on Nov 13, 14 and 15 plus we put you on one of our Gold mine claims and you can keep all the Gold you mine. What could be better than that huh.
Jeff and Slim
That’s a cool mine, the Tour guide seemed a little short at times like don’t ask me questions boi... haha
The tour guides are retired miners who worked in that mine.
I do a bit of pros prospecting in and around the blue ridge mountains and we have found 20 oz of gold and a whole bunch of gems you and slem should come on over to the east and mine
+Dallas Craine wow 20 oz is pretty darn good and I will tell him that, Thanks.
Jeff and Slim
panning looks like a good activity to do with my 7 year old daughter I live in eastern ohio ever heard of gold in this area? I never have but I'm just now getting interested in this subject thanks largely to your channel
+danny oleksiak yes there is Glacial till there , very fine Gold.
Jeff and Slim
+Ask Jeff Williams appreciate it guess I'll be getting wet soon
Fun mine ride..
cool jeff under ground train looks like an easy way to work,,i was asked to throw some shoes. later friend
Did you throw them really high?
Is this the mine that produced the turquoise reference to as Bisbee Turquoise? That is some of the most beautiful turquoise I've ever seen. I think they buried a huge section of turquoise so no one could have cus it passed off the owners I think could be wrong about it being this mine.
