I wish they would write a novel focusing on a rogue trader. I think a grimdark Han Solo would be badass.
Han Solo murdering babies and banging hot dark eldar women :D
I think there is it's called "Rogue trader the Omnibus" by Andy Hoare.
Thanks dude. I'll have to see about getting that when it comes out.
JonD hope It’s a good one.
It's not centered around Rogue Traders by any means, but Tobias Maxilla, in the Eisenhorn series was a fascinating character.
That ending though.
That is a great 40k opening quote.
:D
It may not be quite as lucrative as other endeavours, but colonising and exploration would definitely get my flagship's fusion plants up to "all ahead full" in record time! Apart from the natural drive to expand and explore in itself, there's no telling what extras a good Rogue Trader could still manage to squeeze out of such mission *in passing* as it were...
Oddly due to GW retconing so much it used to be the letter of marque that was the hereditary title ( @ least during 1st & 2nd ed ). I appreciate the update as alot was fleshed out due to the rouge trader rpg so looks like Ill be editing the history of my house, lol. TY again for another great video
Any time :)

I always thought the Merchant Rouge Trader was the best suited. A Mafia like strong man scrounging stuff up, used to knocking heads, forcing deals, assassinations, stuff like that
Probably better for business to orientate towards trade instead of burning planets and everyone on them.
As a Rogue Trader, I'd try and jockey for favor w/ the Fabricator General, Officio Assassinorum and the Inquisition Ordo Xenos. Specifically to keep both off my back whilst I stole, studied, and reverse engineered Tau and Eldar tech for Imperium use.
Let's face it, the Tau have pretty damned good tech that's better than the Imperium's at the moment. If I was to rebuild it to look Imperial, hand it off to either the Ordo or Machine Cult for redistribution and understanding, it'd get TIoM out of a slump. Hell, if we could figure out how to make a Human version of Wraithbone or Soul Stones, we'd be able to give an even larger middle finger to the Ruinous Powers.
Not just weapons, either. The stealth systems for the Officio Assasinorum. Improved thruster engines and such for everything from jump-packs to battle barges. The mechanical components to Tau battlesuits may or may not improve Astartes Battle Plate. We might even be able to improve Astropathic Communicae using specialized Psykker Transceivers.
I wouldn't really fuck around with Necron tech. Because those spoopy assholes have spoopy ways of finding their spoopy tech. (which I still say is horseshit). Unless I could somehow broker a sound deal with Trazyn the Collector for some trinkets in exchange for other shit I've found. So long as the goofy skelebones agrees to keep me off his kill list, and that of his minions.
Might even research the effects of Faith and the WAAAAAGH, and ways to exploit it. There's no Emperor-damned way I'm gonna parlay with ORKS, and even less that I'll cooperate with Choas. So screw Tzeeny-peeny in his faces with chainswords and glass, Khornflakes can go hug a puppy, Slutnesh can abstain, and Nurgle can mind his old man business.
Dammit, now I wanna play Rogue Trader to see if I could pull this off.
Gotta watch your back for the Adeptus Mechanicus though
@@johnmcfarlane3147 Tell that to Belisarius Cawl
I'm thinking of making a story about a rogue trader halfway becomes aligned to the tau empire whilst still attaining the title of rogue trader
Well, since information travel across the imperium is sketchy at best, that could work if the rogue trader doesn't behave to strangely when he's back in imperial space.
What's the new intro music? Keep up the good work!
Thanks. I do put a link to the music track I used in the description :)
