The Laser Gauntlet was a section that both frustrated and scared me, but also impressed me immensely at the same time. It’s a section near the end where all your platforming skills you learned in the entire game are put to the test. Even though the last levels are hard, they sure pay off well with an epic boss fight!
Can't believe it. But this is my second Nsanely perfect level.... why you may ask? I played it over and over and over and over and over just because of this brilliant track. And it made me a much better player.
First time I played this I died 60 times, now I can speedrun it with my eyes closed, trying to get that blased flashback tape does wonders for your skills.
This level is pure HELL, I mean Christ what a finale. They literally hit you with everything. That last section with all the lasers and alternating between the masks was absolutely ridiculous. Definitely one of the hardest crash levels of all time.
I’d say the hardest personally! 109 attempts to get through it the first time. Blows Stormy Ascent away. Only thing that might beat it is the prototype Sunset Vista but I’ve not played that myself 👍
The Lab - One of the many bops from this game, such a good one. Laser Gantlet - Horror music is playing to let you konw that this part of the level is gonna to really tough!
@jagazgaga even though laser gauntlet was pretty simple for me, that levels still hardest toys for bob time and Nsane relic because of everything else.
As the final level of the game, it should be! This is arguably the hardest crash level of all time and one of the hardest levels in platforming I think. It throws every skill you learned throughout the whole game in one. Died about 100 times my first playthrough of it and almost 50 my second. The whole level is tough but the last part, good lord. A true challenge how a final level should be.
Actually all of the little titles that are in some levels with multiple variations are names that I come up with that fit the atmosphere x) I actually had it called "Pain & Suffering" at the start, but it was a bit unrealistic xd
I never wanna play this level again. EDIT: Came back to it and got every gem in the regular mode, and now there's only one left in the N. Verted mode. Even got the flashback tape via a no-death run. This level forged my skills lol
I don't know why, after reading the comments I noticed that everyone considers this the hardest level in the game. I actually disagree! I N.Sanely Perfected this one in realitvely short time (like 10ish minutes of retries), because yes the masks alternating fast is disorienting but there's only one possible way to do it and it is training your reflexes to anticipate what's coming fast enough to react and complete it. For me the hardest level was Toxic Tunnels instead, it took me two days of retries to N.Sanely Perfect that one. There's way more bullshit going on here than in Cortex Castle
2:56 - The moment that seperates so many people. The modern players from the retro players, for example. This final section was fucking bonkers, but I can at least pride myself in perservering on retro mode. Turns out I only died 28 times over the span of the level for my first go. Not too shabby. I've heard the horror stories of hundreds upon hundreds of deaths, but I do wonder just how much experience those people have in Crash games. Those who haven't played the trilogy make more sense for such high death counts.
Been playing Crash all my life and I died 99x here. Am proud to declare that though! Especially as it went from 99 to 30 yesterday when I revisited for gem collecting.
My favorite level in the game. Such creative platforming with the different quantum mask powers, switching between them rapidly was so much fun. It's a shame the flashback tapes couldn't make use of the quantum mask powers, I honestly feel like they've barely scratched the surface of all the cool stuff you could do with these abilities.
The beginning bits of this music piece also remind of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos when you reach Baron Dante’s castle, with the bass and electric guitars mixed seamlessly, marimba, electronic music, and percussion joining together. With some callbacks to old games like Gex: Enter the Gecko, Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko, Klonoa, and Ape Escape. This soundtrack is without a doubt the greatest video game music of 2020! All thanks to Walter Mair for recapturing the spirit and fun magic of Crash Bandicoot!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
