- Yumi Nu landed her fabulous SI Swimsuit cover in 2022, one year after her debut with the magazine. The musician, who is of Japanese and Dutch descent, made history last April as the first plus-size model featured on the cover of Vogue Japan.
Nu is the founder of Blueki, an ethically sourced, plus-size clothing brand, and is constantly using her platform to advocate for body positivity and diversity in the fashion and modeling industries.
“I hope when young girls see my images, they see someone who can be confident at any size,” she said while on location in Dominica with photographer Amanda Pratt. “You don’t have to [fit] a specific beauty standard to be happy or wear little bikinis. Anything is possible.”

This world is filled with FIT/HEALTY PLUS SIZE PEOPLE. Everyone is not a size 2 or 3 NOR DO THEY WANT TO BE 😂
I think it depends upon how one defines fit/healthy. Most younger people with terrible health habits are not dying. But a 3 pack a day habit of tobacco will certainly catch up to that person one day. Healthy depends upon current habits besides the presence of actual disease. Not wearing seat belts, motorcycle helmets, having loaded handguns in the house full of children, driving under the influence are forms of unhealthy living. People with BMI's, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels are statistically going to be prone to a much higher rate of future issues with heart disease, stroke, arthritis, kidney issues, blindness, etc. A size 2 or 3 is a good size for a 5 ft tall woman. We should be promoting good health whenever we get the chance. Many don't understand or have already given up. If you have any issues with these comments, don't comment to us, talk with your physician who can refer you to some good book or sites.
