I thought that reason was kind of dumb because not all openings have to follow the same formula, and plus using an action packed OP for the first part of Season 3 wouldn’t fit at all so I’m glad that WIT decided to animate an “action packed” one in the second part.

I will actually recommended this opening first to anyone new to AOT or anime than other first opening. This second opening has actually mature theme, first opening may have better song or animation but it feels generic.

He's gone so far as to say that the anime is the true version of aot he always wished to create. Regardless of if they animated the bullet then he adapted it later or vice versa, it's clear that he worked very hard to put accurate foreshadowing all over his work and it should be commended not blown off.

0:19 - 0:25 is another great detail in this OP We can see the cast shouting to the left (Jean, Connie, Sasha, Ymir, Krista/Historia), indicating they are working towards the same goal. Then we see Reiner and Berthold started to turn their head to the right slowly but not fully to the right yet. Meanwhile, Annie is the last cast and turned her head fully to the right meaning the time has come for her to start the "warrior" job and OPPOSE her soldier comrades.
0:45 this part is literally a masterpiece its gives me chills. And what makes it better is the clip of levi squad (it really matches with the song). in my opinion this part is better that sasageyo.
I love the foreshadowing at 0:20 cause when it shows Reiner, Bertolt and Annie, it shows them on the other side as the characters they showed first. It was hinting they were literally “on the other side”

The foreshadowing at 0:20 is one of the best foreshadowing moments in AOT openings, it portrays Reiner, Bertolt and Annie slowing turning away from their comrades one by one which echoes the order of who betrayed first and how eager they were, Annie being the one to completely turn first signifying the most desperate one out of the Marley trio and therefore, foreshadowing her titan appearance.
well it doesn’t really show the order of who betrayed the scouts first. i think it’s showing more of emotional attachment to the scouts with reiner following down the path of the scouts, bert stuck between his duty as a warrior and the friendships he made, and then annie who really did not care and is turned away.
I don’t agree that Annie doesn’t care, she cares, if she didn’t care she wouldn’t have apologized to the dead in Trost, if she didn’t care she would’ve killed Armin and Jean in their first expedition, she chose not to kill them. If she didn’t care she wouldn’t have broken down laughing when she got discovered, kinda like how Eren laughed when Hannes and Sasha died. They don’t laugh because they think something’s funny or because they’re evil, they broke down mentally. Eren from feeling useless and Annie from finally not having to hide her biggest secret from the people she’s been trying so hard not to get attached to but got attached to anyways, if anything Annie was the one who didn’t want a part in the mission and wanted to go back home asap. Also I’m pretty sure Annie didn’t act out on her own in season 1, she didn’t move on her own because she cared less about the scouts than Reiner and Bertholdt, Reiner and Bertholdt told Annie to attack from the right because they were told Eren was there, and when Reiner learned Eren’s actual location he immediately redirected Annie, so Annie’s attack wasn’t just Annie, Reiner and Bertholdt were supporting her while hiding amongst the enemy, so it’s not like they care more than Annie does. If anything I think Bertholdt was the one that cared the least, Annie thought the whole mission was stupid from the moment they found Ymir outside the walls and Reiner literally has a split personality that wants to be the greatest soldier and comrade to the scouts, Bertholdt I think kept his distance the best and Unlike Annie was more than willing to kill Armin and everyone in the end, he died with his brainwashed honorary marleyan mindset. People underestimate how cold Bertholdt was because he was the nice timid one, whole time he was the least phased warrior candidate sleeping next to his victims, but still I can’t say he was unaffected, if he didn’t care either he wouldn’t have cried and said his “Someone has to do it” speech
A Theory: The scene where Armin is covered in blood and then all but one candle going out could be referring to everyone dying except Armin and he would be the last one standing

Moblit was easily the most underrated, the amount of screen time he got before (spoiler) His death is criminal, and his final acts were some of the most impactful and respectfully sacrificial of the entire series, and the entire time he was trying his best to help Hanji
It ironically has more views than Guren no Yumiya and Sasageyo (the ones uploaded by Funimation) but no one talks about it. Heck, it even has more views than the S3 intros and still no one talks about this one.
There's something so moving about this song, especially seeing Levi's squad with the Gloria lyric. The song almost feels victorious despite the fact that everything is going to get even worse
I started watching AOT a few weeks ago for the first time, and I am addicted. I am from Austria and I got so suprised when suddenly first all these german names came in, and then the opening literally mixed in german words with japenese, and I never knew something like this could bang this hard. What a masterpiece, my favourite by now and I just finished season 2. So ready to get into the next ones!
Yeah attack on titan is based off/ in Germany and alot of the names are German or close to it, like erens name is spelled different than Yeager but most fans don't speak German so we just say yaeger but its spelled in the way you spell hunter in german , reiner braun, bertholdt apparently, could be wrong, and so on

We can see the cast shouting to the left (Jean, Connie, Sasha, Ymir, Krista/Historia), indicating they are working towards the same goal.
Then we see Reiner and Berthold started to turn their head to the right slowly but not fully to the right yet.
Meanwhile, Annie is the last cast and turned her head fully to the right meaning the time has come for her to start the "warrior" job and OPPOSE her soldier comrades.
This scene was the one that made confirmed that Annie was the female titan, like I had my suspicion but that transition confirmed it

The foreshadowing at 0:20 is one of the best foreshadowing moments in AOT openings, it portrays Reiner, Bertolt and Annie slowing turning away from their comrades one by one which echoes the order of who betrayed first and how eager they were, Annie being the one to completely turn first signifying the most desperate one out of the Marley trio and therefore, foreshadowing her titan appearance.
well it doesn’t really show the order of who betrayed the scouts first. i think it’s showing more of emotional attachment to the scouts with reiner following down the path of the scouts, bert stuck between his duty as a warrior and the friendships he made, and then annie who really did not care and is turned away.

I don’t agree that Annie doesn’t care, she cares, if she didn’t care she wouldn’t have apologized to the dead in Trost, if she didn’t care she would’ve killed Armin and Jean in their first expedition, she chose not to kill them. If she didn’t care she wouldn’t have broken down laughing when she got discovered, kinda like how Eren laughed when Hannes and Sasha died. They don’t laugh because they think something’s funny or because they’re evil, they broke down mentally. Eren from feeling useless and Annie from finally not having to hide her biggest secret from the people she’s been trying so hard not to get attached to but got attached to anyways, if anything Annie was the one who didn’t want a part in the mission and wanted to go back home asap. Also I’m pretty sure Annie didn’t act out on her own in season 1, she didn’t move on her own because she cared less about the scouts than Reiner and Bertholdt, Reiner and Bertholdt told Annie to attack from the right because they were told Eren was there, and when Reiner learned Eren’s actual location he immediately redirected Annie, so Annie’s attack wasn’t just Annie, Reiner and Bertholdt were supporting her while hiding amongst the enemy, so it’s not like they care more than Annie does. If anything I think Bertholdt was the one that cared the least, Annie thought the whole mission was stupid from the moment they found Ymir outside the walls and Reiner literally has a split personality that wants to be the greatest soldier and comrade to the scouts, Bertholdt I think kept his distance the best and Unlike Annie was more than willing to kill Armin and everyone in the end, he died with his brainwashed honorary marleyan mindset. People underestimate how cold Bertholdt was because he was the nice timid one, whole time he was the least phased warrior candidate sleeping next to his victims, but still I can’t say he was unaffected, if he didn’t care either he wouldn’t have cried and said his “Someone has to do it” speech
Also at 0:41 there is foreshadowing about Annie being a titan when titan "devours" her

There's something so moving about this song, especially seeing Levi's squad with the Gloria lyric. The song almost feels victorious despite the fact that everything is going to get even worse
I've always thought that, it literally hits you with the lyric, vocals and imagery. It gets me so emotional every time
I started watching AOT a few weeks ago for the first time, and I am addicted. I am from Austria and I got so suprised when suddenly first all these german names came in, and then the opening literally mixed in german words with japenese, and I never knew something like this could bang this hard. What a masterpiece, my favourite by now and I just finished season 2. So ready to get into the next ones!
Yeah attack on titan is based off/ in Germany and alot of the names are German or close to it, like erens name is spelled different than Yeager but most fans don't speak German so we just say yaeger but its spelled in the way you spell hunter in german , reiner braun, bertholdt apparently, could be wrong, and so on
@@Jxvger It's obvious that the author got inspiration from the German history, for example the soldier's uniform resembles the uniform in WW2, and the Liberio resembles concentration camp in WW2.
