I thought it was like Sam was running simulations of the "mission" and eventually loses touch with the test simulations and reality. That's why there were multiple ships and crew and Emma.
Have never heard of this game before, this has been a very interesting analysis to watch. Personally, I`m not a fan of space horror, but I think the game does an okay job to show the 'evil ai' perspective as the developers wanted. However, I think it would`ve been even more powerful if this kind of 'movie through camera' perspective was used in game like Paper Clip maker you`ve discussed. You could argue, of course, that the horror of Paper Clip maker is exactly that the player Doesn`t care about the consequences of their actions and doesn`t even see them. Still, I think it could work if that efficiency game had an optional 'camera' view. Hope you have heard&played SOMA, because after watching some of your essays I believe that would definetely be your cup of tea. Amazing video as always, I especially like all the audio distortion in this one. Here`s to many more views and subs to you!
Loved all of your content that I've seen so far. Also amazing production value for such a small channel - I'm sure you'll go soaring high in the future! :)
Hands down the best review of this game on this entire God forsaken platform. You've earned a subscription from me and I look forward to watching the rest of your channel. It always sucks to see great content like this only getting a couple hundred views when so much bullshit gets millions.
Man I love your analysis and ability to get underlying messages of games like this and MGSV. I know this channel will get big soon enough, it deserves it
How do you have so few views? This is really good stuff. Somehow I've managed to stumble upon this little known gem. I have been binging your back catalog as I have time throughout the day and I haven't been disappointed yet!
I loved this game and your take on it. Such a memorable experience even if the gameplay had me scratching my head at some points. However i don't think Emma is not real. We see her putting out the fires with the extinguisher for example.
"Observation is a game that you should play if you haven't already. Don't watch this video until you do, please." Alright, I will hold on to that one until I play it, then! It does look like an interesting game. For now, take my Like!
To my knowledge no one uses a tether when outside the ship except to tether SAM to Emma for the cross-station jump. Doesn’t really make sense but it is internally consistent I guess

I haven’t gotten around to playing all the way through SOMA yet, though I’m intending on it soon.

Glad I heeded your advice and played the game before watching the video. It's a good game, very compelling.

You have an interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing. 👍
What a great video
8:15 yay I knew it was Saturn before the game said so. I'm proud of myself to know something!1

did u play it?
It kinda reminds me of 2001: Space Odysee. More so the book than the movie
Great video, glad PatricianTV recommended your channel
For any of this commentary about "choice" to matter the game has to offer more than doing the wrong thing or not completing the game.
Keep that in mind as my next video comes out lol
How come mae didn't have a tether when she was outside the ship?
