I don't think this can be true. You love your children because, for most people, you're there from the second they emerge into the world. They change you. You're there when they laugh, when they cry, you cradle them all night while they're sick, you're there for their triumphs and their lowest moments, you teach them and share with them and support them and you're only as happy as they are. Grandchildren are special because they're born from those you love and your love for them is uncomplicated and easy because you're not doing much of the real work - that makes it a different love but not a greater or "whole other level" of love.
I don't know if you know, but the actor who plays Alan lost his son to illness not too long ago. I am sure he was thinking about him when he played this scene. Very moving.
@ , what makes it even worse is that the Lyndhurst couple did not find out about it until an autopsy was conducted. Archie Lyndhurst went to sleep and never woke up.
I don’t cry at a lot, although I couldn’t help but cry during this scene. I can’t imagine how much Nicholas Lyndhurst must’ve looked at the woman whom plays Alan’s daughter and think of all that he lost when he lost Archie. Not only did he and his wife lose Archie; they lost their only child and (unless they adopt) any chance that they had of being grandparents (If they adopt a child, they can have adoptive grandchildren through that child as well as give that child everything that they wish that they could have given Archie if he had lived.).
0:00-0:08 Not to be that guy, but if your friend asked you how closely you look at your credit card statements, you need to at least Ponder reconsidering that friendship. And basically, your entire life to date.
Nothing in this implied he was christen and earlier in the episode he even said "I'm half Jewish". Also there's nothing to prevent people changing religions. Also also last we saw him in 1993 Frasier he was a goth not being bar mitzvahed that was an even earlier episode.
hi Jewish person here! Lilith is Jewish. Typically being Jewish transcends through the mother. However it is important to note that being jewish is based on ethnicity and religion. I have friends in Freddy’s type of family situation that celebrate both Jewish and Christian holidays. It’s more of a cultural feel if that makes any sense. Hope this helps. Cheers
A beautiful episode. I have watched both seasons and come to the judgment that whilst Kelsey Grammar is hopeful for season 3 I actually think rhat the writing isn’t top drawer and it is struggling and a renewal might be possible but I think it is time to call it a day. The original show Frasier but American audiences as the best sitcom of all and quite rightly but the writers were spectacular.. Honestly I haven’t the Frasier original season after season. It wouldn’t be a comedy that with excitement. I would watch UK 🇬🇧 sitcoms like Porridge, Rising Damp and Only fools and Horses. I think the problem is not the cast they are talented and the only reason I ever watched Frasier the reboot was Nicholas Lyndhurst who has worked comedy legends like Sir David Jason and Ronnie Barker and Nicholas Lyndhurst is the best by miles in Frasier. He has done 🇬🇧 proud. I do not think there will season 3 of Frasier the reboot. They only have 10.episodes a season. That is not unusual here in England but makes at 22 episodes of a show for a seasons
You love your kids unconditionally but when it comes to grandchildren, it's at another level of love that's indescribable.
And you just can't explain it to anyone. They have to experience it for themselves.
Not a chance. Your child will always be the one you love the most

Omg that baby is adorable and that scene was perfect. I actually teared up a little.

@@sanebooks I heard that. It's so sad!
This one hit me in the feels. Actually shed tears during the hotel scene. Great ending!!!
Damn got me shedding tears when he said she’s perfect
"Why does that sound like a good plan?!" It sounds like an AWESOME plan that will either succeed gloriously! or fail hilariously!
I would love if season three opened with them proceeding with that plan.
Because you're a Crane.😂😅
One of the best things about that is how Frederick sounds *terrified* at the thought that that sounds like a good plan.
It hits a lot harder nicholas lost his own son back in 2019
Not only did he lose his only son. He lost his only child.
I've always liked him and his work, but I had no idea that he suffered such a personal tragedy. It certainly does make the scene much more poignant.
For him, this must have been hard to film ❤❤❤
His son died of cancer 😢😢
@ , what makes it even worse is that the Lyndhurst couple did not find out about it until an autopsy was conducted. Archie Lyndhurst went to sleep and never woke up.
Talk about Beautiful Christmas Moments.
What a nice way to end the season.

Patricia Heaton, a beauty and a great actress ❤

This must have been VERY hard for home to do … but as always he did it perfectly
Great video Great TV show
What's the name of the show?
Blood will out, Freddy 😂 Merry/Happy Christmas everyone!
It's so wild to think that's the smart ass kid from Butterflies .
I know, right? He also played a Nazi in The Tomorrow People.
He also played Peter the goat boy in the BBCs version of Heidi😊. That I think is the first thing I saw him in.
Loved This💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖Happy Holidays 2024🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

How did Frederick suddenly become Christian?!!! Last we saw of him as a youth, he was being bar mitzvahed.
Nothing in this implied he was christen and earlier in the episode he even said "I'm half Jewish". Also there's nothing to prevent people changing religions. Also also last we saw him in 1993 Frasier he was a goth not being bar mitzvahed that was an even earlier episode.

@Bearjew927 Christmas isn't even really religious anymore. Its also cultural. Most holidays end up like this one way or another.
