Do not go by the pumpkin comments. It is a top mango with hints of its common parentage with Kathy and Sweet Tart. I have a 5 year old tree in central Florida that has given fruit 3 straight years, including 12 this year. Definitely the best tasting large mango. 3 of my fruit weighed between 3 and 3.5 lbs. I realized last night that I want another Venus tree. The combination of excellent flavor, large size, and late season makes it a must have mango. I have seen no disease issues in my part of the state.

Venus is an elite mango. One of the best.
I have three trees . It is a great mango and this was a good year. It’s called Venus because it’s pale yellow and has blotches and is almost round.
I picked up a Venus tree in 3 gal pot from the Fairchild Farm at William's Grove 3 weeks ago. I got to taste the fruit that day too. Nat said it was the first Venus they picked this year. It weighed about 2 lbs! I really enjoyed the flavor. It was a good looking mango as well. The mango was green on one side, golden yellow on another side and golden with an "apple red" blush overlaying the gold on a third section of the fruit.
I have a smaller tree, no fruit yet. mine branches a ton when you tip/prune it ( 4-6 new buds). I'm glad it's another fairly unique flavored variety. Thanks!

The few Venus I've tried have a sort-of Jolly Rancher candy flavor. Maybe that's the candy apple flavor Celeste was getting?

@@SulcataGrove You could say that. it wasn’t bad but I expected more from it just because I’ve seen people in groups hype it up. I probably should have given it another day and also it was picked very green. I’ll have to try another one 🤙

Got my parents a venus like 4 years ago, tree is pretty big to support fruit but it has never fruited, since venus is supposed be productive really hoping is not a mislabeled tree. Venus sounds amazing
Has it flowered yet? With the odd weather the past few years, hopefully next year is the year. Maybe prune/tip now and add feed with potassium and minor elements.
@@SulcataGrove i tried potassium last year hoping it flowered but it never did, im worried might be mislabeled since i bought another tree at the same nursery that ended being mislabeled
@@edisonm8654 that stinks. Do you see where it was grafted? I’ve received one mislabeled mango. Thankfully it was still a good variety.
