I think this is a fundamental mistake: Hamas is not an "ideology," it is quest for justice. ZIONISM is an ideology. I listened to 4 or 5 MacGregor interviews yesterday, some from immediately after Oct 7. In one (or more) early appearances, MacGregor said he "supports Israel, likes Israel;" "Hamas MUST be defeated but that's hard because Hamas is **an ideology;**" "supports Israel but is opposed on moral grounds to Israel's operation in Gaza."
I think this is a fundamental mistake: Hamas is not an "ideology," it is quest for justice. ZIONISM is an ideology. It is the ideology that persuades Israelis to cast aside "morality," and having been the operative ideology from the very beginning, it was amoral not just since Oct. 7 but at very least all through Occupation.
Very interesting observation. I too had Colonel McGregor's feelings towards Isreal stuck in my mind, I would enjoy hearing his response to your comment. I have nothing but the highest regard for the Colonel and have been an avid listener.
