This only would work for residential. Not so much on apartments, I actually use the driver aid stickers as well. When your loaded down though with what a normal count like 18-21 totes and 37 oversized packages. It’s almost impossible. Not to mention amazon has done away with group stops. They have made our job even harder
This is another great way to organize and deliver fast, now when u get overflow you'll still haft to go to the back of the van because it won't be enough space but most stops will be without overflow so this is another great way to organize
Thanks for making this video I was never shown this and I had a hard time my first day out , it should be common sense but I’ve never done a job like this before and they skipped my orientation on day one no Van test etc just straight to delivering, your video has helped me a lot thanks again
It's common sense. I go by 10's separate the bags and boxes too and drive with the side door open to save time and energy. Sometimes I have packages in the passenger seat
WHAT IF YOU NEED TO GET AN OVERFLOW? ALSO, DO YOU TAKE PICTURES OF ALL YOUR PACKAGES OR MARK THEM AS DELIVERED TO ANOTHER SAFE LOCATION WHEN IT'S A GROUP STOP.
Do you get pinged by the AI camera off for having your seat belt like that I’ve seen people doing that but I never tried cause idk if the AI Camera with catch it
Yes I can see that. The first time I did amazon flex I use my car.. OMG it took me for ever had no idea what I was doing. The packages not organize. Was not happy on how long it took me. That was the first and last time I did it. The was a couple years ago thinking of doing it again since I found this video.
This is great and very helpful, but do you take out the boxes and envelopes out of all the bags and organize them as such or do you just do one bag of boxes and envelopes at a time?
It doesn’t matter where you’re delivering 😂😂😂😂 you still need to organize your packages! Literally the absolute most important part! If you spend 30 seconds looking for a package for 180 stops that’s 3 hours you spend looking for your fucking package 😮
After delivering for about 2 years, you'll know that not every route is the same, for exp. If I'm delivering in a same area, one day I get 150 stops for 8h, next day 135 stops for the same amount of time, 😅
@@montrealdriver I’m just curious bc I used road warrior to optimize stops and also used Sid numbers to organize the boxes, so I just did odd numbers from 1-7 on the left side and even numbers 2-8 on the right side
@@hudsonumi the bags are organized on the racks before you put them in the truck. I put the top bags near the back and the bottom bags in the front. I put all bags on the left and all boxes on the right. Thats just how i do it personally i dont know how other people do it
Doesn't the creepy AI camera on the dashboard watch you? I was told you're not supposed to keep a bunch of packages and stuff in the front with you but... It looks like it'd save so much time
You can do this but on the shelf it’s easier to lay out because if yo need an over flow package now you gotta get out and go around to get in the side door
@@montrealdriver yeah and don't try to be an overachiever. My 1st day on my own I was in San Francisco with 12 totes and 23 overflow. I tried to take every single package to the customers front door whether the elevators worked or not. If they have mail rooms or receptionist areas, just take them there unless specified by the customer. I got like 5 packages rescued from the more experienced guys that day. Lol
How about trying to hide the names and addresses when you make such a video. This is bad as it has PII including names with addresses. As you are in Canada, review PIPEDA before someone sues you.

Most dsp don’t provide that bin, I use to do that number thing too, now I just organize everything by street

My pleasure Glad it helped and dont worry you will get the hang of it quickly
I had 190 stops two days ago with 311 packages. 21 totes and roughly 24 overflow. However, I use the EDV amazon van.
I like to organize by looking at my itinerary and and putting them in order so it’s just a grab and go
Yea but i feel like that takes too long
That’s.the best wwyx
In training they said to packages up front or in passenger seat to prevent loss
Hey great video hope you make more video future

What is the year, make, and model of your delivery van?

I work for amazon in ny still tryna learn the sticker thing ,hooe it gelps im alwats falling behind in the middle if the shift, smh
I've never gotten a bin 😢
I put them on my dash bored by groups of 10 and put the packages on my seat
This is very helpful! Where did you get the bin for the envelopes?
They provide the bin
So, when the van is full, all of your boxes would be on the floor or do you put them on the shelves?
I personally put the bags on the left side and the boxes on the right. Both on the shelf and on the floor
Too much time
This is great and very helpful, but do you take out the boxes and envelopes out of all the bags and organize them as such or do you just do one bag of boxes and envelopes at a time?
One bag at a time or two
Yeah when they throw a mix of businesses/residential and apts I don't even sort that 😅
It doesn’t matter where you’re delivering 😂😂😂😂 you still need to organize your packages! Literally the absolute most important part! If you spend 30 seconds looking for a package for 180 stops that’s 3 hours you spend looking for your fucking package 😮
Or you can spend 15 mins beginning of your shift and 15 in the middle and organize everything and then you can bust out 40- 50 stops an hour
usually?
Great.. may be I will see u next week in lachine warehouse ;)
Nice did you get hired?
@@montrealdriver almost there. On Monday I have my 2 days training ;)

Yes man. Especially when they throw in apartments with a million group stops. So time consuming.
How do you know which tote to do first
Can you clarify what you mean?

I’m starting at Amazon tomorrow, I worked at FedEx for a year and NEVER had over 100 stops lol I’m kinda worried with how many stops Amazon does
100 stops sounds intimidating but it goes by really fast
Work for DHL, UPS or Post Office. Better pay and benefits

Totes not boxes
I wanna be fast but also get paid by the hour
You want the option to be fast. Some days you just want to speed through and get done
Amazon should take out the passenger seat. There’s no need for it
