In those times, women that were practicing a man's job was unheard of. Most of the times women were either housewives or just practicing simple jobs. This will not be the first time they'll say that Sagiri's gender isn't suited to be an executioner
Well, yeah. One of the great things about this anime is it's historically accurate feel. People say she's not supposed to be that, but it's not exactly malicious coming from them, but just them being people of their time lacking understanding of such concept. They're still great people despite it and I like it
I mean. If executions were still held today. I dont think It would be suited for women.. there should be a freakingly strong women to kill zomeone with just One cut with a katana.
And remember... woman and men aren't the same, cutting a head looks easy BUT in the first chapter they explain WHY ISN'T EASY TO CUT A HEAD even for men, isn't only about skill even if you hit the right place (between vertebrae) you need a lot of strength to cut the head with a Katana, so yes thats why Sagiri is outstanding AS A WOMAN, we aren't talking about a simple modern job like CEO or others, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT CUTTING A HEAD OFF and as a JOB.
