@@mightyso9281 @MightySo92 Yeah. In general he was pretty disrespected for a while (and I'm not a fan of some of his flanderized/retconed personality traits), but this was a serviceable silver-lining, pun not intended, for it all I guess.
Super Silver for the first time since 2006!
Really highlights how ridiculously powerful Super Silver is when you think about it.
Keep in mind that the metal virus infects on a molecular level, so the fact that Super Silver was able to removee the entire virus from every living being on the planet with precise accuracy and detail is really something.
Also, nice to see Silver's Super Form in action for the first time since 06!
Also, if you pay attention to a panel or two when Silver is ripping off the Metal Virus, he can be seen lifting people out of water. He would have saved so many people in Avengers Endgame that dusted away in hazardous locations.
Overall I thought the Zombot/Metal Virus arc had a lot good things to offer. In my opinion, it was one of the best arcs to come out of a Sonic comic in a while. There were high stakes, fun action, interesting character interactions, and character development for the characters who needed it. It would've been interesting to see how this story would've played out in the Archie comics and how those characters would've reacted to such an event. All in all it was a great arc and I'm intrigued to see where the comic goes from here.

Also glad the hilarious Karma of Eggman almost getting done in by Froggy after infuriatingly backstabbing Amy when she risked her life to save HIM
Reminds me of how the hate plague from Transformers g1, was originaly trapped in a star but The spores were retrieved by a protected ship that survived the star that held it exploding
Yeah, I think that pretty much triggered all of us. No matter what opinion we had on Amy's personality in this comic, it was enraging to see Eggman do that to her!

Still, while he had that coming for a while, I think he deserves a little something extra for him needless backstabbing Amy. Maybe like, say, a thorough beating from her, considering she wanted to give him one since issue 25?

At least the victims don't remember what exactly they did as Zombots.

Also, while Zombies are near mindless, that doesn't mean that they are unaware that their own state is perverse. They are trapped between life and death; and in this case, organic and inorganic. Zombies generally know something isn't right with them; they just stagger in despair while lashing out at the living, either out of envy for the life they hold or just frustration from they themselves being denied proper rest. Sure, Charmey probably doesn't remember infecting Vector as a Zombot, but he probably remembers the "feeling" of being a Zombot, or rather lack of it.

We knew things would things would be alright, but it was pretty dramatic seeing Sonic's last moments of organic consciousness.
Whisper finally got that hug she needed this whole arc. And hearing the Team Chaotix theme song is always a joy.
A story of Eggman having control of a roboticized Modern Sonic would be cool. Although, I'm thinking that like Metal Sonic, he would eventually break free of his programing and cause his own brand chaos. And yes, I'm aware of the roboticized Sonic from the Archie Comics...
For the people who giving IDW sh*t about Tails, piss off. From my prospective, he is suffering from PTSD since Sonic Forces. Yes, it could've been illuded to better in the games. But in this comic book series, he clearly recent events have definitely taken a tole on the young fox.
After this long arc, I'm hoping the next stories will more light-hearted. I don't mind dark stories in Sonic material, but this one went on too long for me. Nonetheless, I'm glad read this arc.
I wonder if the Cacophonic Conch will factor in next issue...

I hope Amy gives him lumps all over, considering she wanted to beat him up when he arrived on Angel Island!
To be honest, the whole Metal Virus Saga was something we had never seen done before. Sure, Roboticization is nothing new, But having it be easily spread by a simple touch is simply untried before. The arc had me worried for the survivors, and excited for the climax. Though it made me question whether or not Eggman was gonna die before the Arc ended.
And yes, Tails wasn't doing himself any justice with....well "that". But in his defense, knuckles put it best:
"There is literally nowhere left to run". Ergo, It wouldn't have mattered if he was standing up straight or curled into a fetal position. He and the others were effectively cornered.
Oh, and let's not forget that his bipedal Tornado Mech was destroyed in Central City. And the cure was lost in issues 21-23.
So all things considered: give Tails a Flynn some slack as this was justified.
I agree, Zavok was an anticlimatic plot point, but the actions inbetween that make up for it.
Though, the appearance of Sonic and Silver in their Silver state was very welcome. Flynn actually did it (sure they confirmed it earlier, but covers can naturally be deceptive)
Silver made very effective use of his telekinesis in the state, plucking every trace of it of the planet. Add to that his effectiveness in several points in the Arc make him a bonafide hero, far more than can be said on previous iterations of his character.
As for Sonic, I bet Sonic finally had enough energy to straight up punch something after everything.
The stress, the emotion, and the chaos, Zavok's beatdown was most likely a chance to cut loose.Metal definitely got a taste of being the hero, but I think he won't take that into account.
The healing and reunions were the best results. As for Sonic's whereabouts, we will just have to wait and see(personally I hope this means we get to see more of IDW Sonic's universe, perhaps hints at crossovers)
As a whole: I enjoyed this saga. It was new, horrifying, and had me hooked to the end, and we shall see how impactful this Virus was in later issues. There was emotion, development, tension, and so so much suspense. I highly reccomend people who haven't read this already to give it a read and support IDW Sonic.
There was a time when Eggman could roboticize by touch, though it didn't transfer to the ones he made into robots.

This arc has finally ended. I do agree that this should be made into a game. Interestingly enough, I also saw Super Silver coming as well.
Eggman's backstabbing stunt & karma was hilarious because he would do something like that, though Zombot Froggy threw me for a loop at first lol.
Oddly enough, Sonic's disappearance reminded me of Shadow's at the end of Sonic X.
I really enjoyed this arc and your reviews of it. Can't wait to see more.

I love how, after he unleashed something so horrifying on the world, and after all his gloating over the brilliance of it all, he was dealt the indignity of being defeated by a small, mere amphibian with a brain the size of a pea.

Glad alot of people online realize that the people criticizing IDW Tails were being ridiculous. Seriously, it feels like some of the criticizers didn't read this arc at all. It feels like they just saw the image and didn't bother getting context for it.
Anyways, I basically have the same thoughts. Despite some flaws (cough Shadow cough), it was pretty good read. It was interesting to see our heroes get mentally beaten down hard. And I think this arc will be a good second read since we don't have to wait for issues relating to it anymore.
IKR? Tails is brave, but he's not stoic for crying out loud! His tails were being infected and there was literally nothing he could do about it! Besides, even if Tails is mature for an 8 year old, his young age still leaves him with a much more tender body than say Sonic or Knuckles. Physical pain is much more painful on his smaller, softer frame than it is on that of his older, physically tougher friends.

It's over. It's finally over. It took several ups and downs, a handful of delays (thanks COVID), but this everlasting nightmare has finally ended. This arc was enjoyable. It showed several characters pushed to their limits, constant failures leading up to successes, and while the ending was fast, it's time to end it here.
Also, if you think about it, Starline indirectly saved the world. If he didn't bring down the Deadly Six, Eggman would still have his faceship, the Metal Virus would've still run rampant, and our Blue Speedster would've finally succumbed to his transformation.

While my favorite continuity is still pre-super genesis wave Archie (most particularly issues 160-247), I like how it seems like the IDW comics are laid out like games. The zombot arc was like Sonic going through different levels and Zavok in this issue was the final boss. Given the solicitations of the next few issues, I'm inclined to believe this is how they're writing the comics and I honestly like it.

it was cool seeing silver get in on the action(we never did see super silver in the archie comics did we?WOW),it's really nice seeing cream see her mother again(still wish blaze was in the arc.),froggy of all people giving eggman karma was great(though the others still should get a scene of them beating him up for everything he's done.he deserves it.) and i really loved the chaotix,babylon rouges/whisper & tangle.

This comic tells me Silver is the most likely character to survive beter than Sonic.
He not only went on his own to help a village, but even after their shuttle was taken down, he still managed to escape, possibly fighting the whole time.
I feel like, besides Shadow if he was thinking, no one else could have done the same thing

It has been a long, rough road, but this saga finally ended. I loved this combination of Sonic, Silver and Metal Sonic for the last mission; I know it has been ordered by Eggman to help Sonic, but what if he did that in his own will? Your explanation, has to he wants to prove he's the "real" Sonic, is very solid.
I love the panel where Sonic delivers the final Emerald to Silver: has he's falling, we have an image of his point of view, as in "looking at freedom one last time, before my transformation". As for their idea of using the sun as the pit-stop of the virus, somewhat cliché: we've seen this in all media (movies, animes, comics, etc.), but I think this is the first time the Sonic universe uses this plan, right?
Could it be that the final page, as the heroes watch the sky, Sonic has been transported elsewhere? In my opinion, this finale could be a starting point to one of two things: either they could use this as an intro of a new game, and Sonic needs to find a way home, or this could prove that theory of the two worlds been connected (Sonic's World/Mobius and Earth). What do you think?

If you think about the logic of time travel, I think Sonic was supposed to die during the metal virus ark and that is why the world was infected where silver came from but when silver went back in time he reset the timeline. But however the timeline kept trying to bring it's self back on course by endangering Sonic many times, but silver was there to stop that, like what an issue 8 they almost got blown up, but silver stoped the explosion.
Hope there's an Act where Sonic get infected with another virus but it completely takes overs and Shadow uses his inhibitor rings.

I swear, when I saw those 2 go super, they're more like Goku and Trunks working together but they're *NOT* messing around. This goes to show how OP they are when fighting seriously, similar to Gogeta fought Janemba once.

I can totally see the metal virus as game play element. It'll probably be like Ray from Mighty Gunvolt Burst were you had to keep defeating enemies to refill your constantly draining heath.

We already know Silver can use Chaos Control because of Sonic 06 and 4 issues prior.
The team suggested using Chaos Control to warp the virus away and Silver says Shadow was always better than him at it.
Silver, using Chaos Control, was the entire plan.
Also, I felt disappointed kind-of that Sonic's Excalibur form wasn't mentioned in the comics at that transformations flashback Sonic had.

The Metal Virus, the way I see it, is the closest zombie-outbreak scenario I’ve seen in the Sonic franchise. I could be wrong tho and that there were probably already similar ones but I don’t know.

I have way too many thoughts on this finale alone, but I'll leave it at this:

Ideas to have the sting of the Metal Virus left for arcs to come:
Some victims are in left in a vegetative state.
Remember what they had done as infected.
Emotionally crippled from the experience before infection. PTSD. Therapy centers will be full.
Going mad (probably from what I explained above) and making more villains in the process. Let say their way of thinking becomes villainous in various ways: Religious? (Probably don't wanna open that can of worms...) Nihilistic? Hedonistic? Sadistic? Masochistic?
A disease as side-effect. Not a virus, though. More like cancer or Maria's disease.
Those that were transformed long enough became sleeper agents for Eggman. This could be what Eggman planned or he just figures out they became like that as a side effect.
Hatred to Sonic by a percentage of the populace that wants Eggman dealt with permanently.
Hatred to the Chaotix for bringing an infected in HQ where all the refugees were and letting it escape (and bad preventative measures and practices). Either the Chaotix are ex-commissioned or the whole of the restoration is disbanded and replaced by some other group. Also, hatred to that Monkey.

Yeah, I wouldn't blame them; Eggman has proven to be almost as dangerous as Brainiac here, only falling short of Brainiac's lack of emotions clouding his judgement. Still, if what you said was Eggman's goal all along, then simply killing him would be pointless because, much like Injustice Joker, he wins even in death. No, Eggman would need to have a greater punishment than just execution if that were the case. He'd need to to be forced to watch all of his tech and research be destroyed, besides Gemerl and Omega, before being executed. This would serve as a final testament that no one will ever acknowledged him as a genius. His work is hated, not appreciated, and will never be wanted again. What better way to punish him then having him watch everything he worked for fade away never to be remade again?
In retrospect it would have been nice to have some attention to what happened to the emeralds even if it’s saying that it’s left unknown

I definitely enjoyed this issue yeah it’s kinda rushed but it honestly works being a sonic comic and all. Plus it’s nice to have one comic go into peace time since like everything is some sort of giant event right now especially DC.

I need explain a few things:
1.Yes,they defeat all six Zeti,but i watched for these ogre-like demons for long time, and i warn you: they will return... after some time.And there is nothing we can do about it.
2.Super Sonic and Super Silver cured everyone,which means: they cured bad guys too(including Rough and Tumble).
3.Sonic is dissappeared. Where is he right now and he will return? We'll find out in next new story arc.For Eggman,this is good opportunity to strike all characters down...
Don't forget about "Bad Guys" miniseries.
I don't think the entire deadly six will return but we know that Zavok will return in the spinoff comic bad guys.
3. Sure, because Sonic is SOOOOO much more powerful than all of the other characters put together. It's not like Tails is a genius and can fly, Amy has a Hammer, Cream can Spindash like Sonic and fly, Big is super strong, Gemerl's a robot designed for combat, Shadow has Chaos Control, Rouge is acrobatic and can fly, Espio's a ninja, Vector is strong, Charmy can sting and fly, Tangle has an elastic tail, and Whisper's an expert sniper. NONE of them are at ALL useful like THAT! ....................oh wait! YEAH THEY ARE!!! -_-

that comment about it being originally an archie comic finale and the fact that the genesis portals were still around makes me wonder if the ending would've led into another crossover(especially with the "nexus" sticks talks about that we see at the end which considering the originally planned mario archie comics & the art of various nintendo characters during the time likely would've been a super smash bros. arc. i still would be for another crossover with megaman as idw sonic wise it is less cluttered with characters unlike worlds unite.:3)
despite it's huge flaws(shadow's sega forced stupidity being the biggest one which makes me wish sega would let shadow be written like his adventure 2/heroes/06 incarnation.) i did like the zombot arc and i wouldn't mind seeing the next game go off something similar to this.(as i like that it ignores the bad parts of forces,gives the zeti an actually well done presence compared to their one note forced appearances in the games and their pointless showing in worlds unite and actually makes eggman threatening which forces failed at,just please write shadow better & maybe give a few more hopeful spots to the gang.)
