Seems like there's a lot of professional fly tyers that are also haters commenting ! Personally, I picked up a few ideas, and feel he did an outstanding job of creating a highly realistic glass shrimp. Is it fishable? Does it take more time to creat this than a hastly thrown togather hack job fly? Is everyone commenting even capable of such precision work like this? Do most have the creativity to envision, execute, and make a video this well done? Yes or no depends on your personal experience or your lack of touch with reality. Great video, nice camera work, I would like to hear a few words describing your methods but your video was well worth the time I spent to watch it, thank you for sharing!
michael paulissen you might find my own page with the commentary videos more informative.. Your comment stood out and i usually don’t comment on old videos but your nice words and honest opinion is appreciated.. cheers
Unbelievable! I love this stuff. Ive been watching many shrimp fly videos for use in rock cod fishing here in NCal. This is by far the most realistic representation. Outstanding work.
Imho this is really a 1st class fly. Also relatively simple for tyers to build up diversity of shrimp patterns for their fly box. Thanks a lot for the video. Even buy some Ahrex hooks for this build. 😁
Nice fly, but I agree with other comment about explanation on how to tie it. Lots of videos with music , which sometimes music sounds terrible. I would hate to lose the fly lots of work for one fly. Very realistic. Good job.
🌴 well I see a lot of whining about how much time you put into it , as fly tiers we create a lure that is suppose to trick the fish into thinking he’s getting the real deal in order to get the fish to bite , isn’t that the the whole purpose of fly tying , to replicate nature , this is a magnificent fly , thanks for posting 👊🏼👍
FANTASTIC may I ask please what glue and light you are using and if you know where they can be purchase the glus seemed to flow out the bottle real nice. Many thanks and hope to hear from you. John
awesome job. curious though... since everything is coated with uv, is the pre made body really necessary? couldn't it be done by using markers directly on the dubbing before starting the uv process?
Hi Wayne, thanks a lot. That is a really good question. I will have to ask the fly tier Morten Hansen. I will get back to you on this. Thanks for asking.
Hi Wayne! Thank you for your comment.. That is correct that you Could just color the dubbing body with markers, i actually do that sometimes and then use thin skin in clear or with dots.. The thing is that the triangular Shape i cut into the Shell back/thin skin makes it 100 times easier to form the head.. in my opinion - if you whant a good looking shrimp fly, that looks like a shrimp, you must give the head section some extra love and attention because that is the one thing that makes it look like a Real shrimp.. all the very best - and Happy tying!! //Morten
I agree. Great model shrimp-making, not fly-tying 100%. Like Bill Blackstone - model insect maker. This is not wrong per say, but _tying_ things to the hook is more true to the hobby. One bad thing about epoxy and UV glue flies is that they are too hard and fish will spit them faster than you can set the hook. The fly doesn't taste or feel natural. Another bad thing is that they are much heavier than soft-body versions, and thus tougher to cast long salt-water distances without dropping on you. Keeping a large realistic shrimp-fly light is a challenge.
Certainly no disrespect intended to the tyer, but I had the exact same thought. I started the video really excited but was really bummed when I saw the legs get glued on. When I first started fly tying, I got into realistic flies and bought Paul Whitlocks book flies as art (I think) and his big rule was that it’s fly tying, not model making so anything must be tied to the hook. I’ve carried that with me and think it’s a good rule to follow. However if this catches fish and is durable, who am I to complain how someone else does something
Michael Duffalo not on this fly.. hook point acts as a keel, and the bubble underneath the fly (the belly) as placed there to insure that the fly swims correctly..
I'll agree it does look nice but who wants to spend that much time on one fly! Tying fly's is about catching fish not creating art, just as fly fishing is about catching fish and not how tight your loops are.
it looks like a very nice fly, but it looks like its inefficient- almost 15 minutes in a fly, and used so much uv resin, so if i deticated a full 3 hours to fly tying id have 3 colours in four sizes, one of each to see what the fish are eating, and if i got a snag it would almost justify wadeing/boating over to it, spooking all the fish there, getting my fly back, resharpening the hook, retying the end of my tippet, and finding more fish somewhere else. its an awesome looking shrimp, but, imo, hardly worth tying more than two just to have a hyper realistic shrimp to throw at picky fish- im just content with the simpler patterns i guess.

Best shrimp demo I've seen. I will try this myself. Thanks for the lesson. This fly is the best looking shrimp and I want these in my bag of tricks.
Unbelievable! I love this stuff. Ive been watching many shrimp fly videos for use in rock cod fishing here in NCal. This is by far the most realistic representation. Outstanding work.
Both a fishing lure and a work of art; beautiful, simply beautiful. Bravo!

I don't know if i could fish that, it's a piece of art.
Patience, and skill. Lots and lots of practice. You have it all. Great looking tie for sure...
Beautiful , best shrimp fly ive seen well done .
No joke, this is art
I think it's absolutely ingenious! Keep up the good work!
Don't lose it on a rock first cast...! Great tie, well done, sir.
You, sir, are a true artist.
Id love to see a materials list!
What an amazing job! ! That's awesome!
How. Do you sell them for
Nice fly, but I agree with other comment about explanation on how to tie it. Lots of videos with music , which sometimes music sounds terrible. I would hate to lose the fly lots of work for one fly. Very realistic. Good job.

Trying to get the 3d shrimp shells
Amazing work! Do you have any videos of you fishing it?
The legs, is that stretch tippet?
What laser is that?
Love the the music no talk subscribed and now bing watching
Where can I get these tools and materials ??
very creative and passion guy.. bravo..
Just awesome
Looks those things that are running around my house here in East Kentucky.
Good day sir where can i buy this item?
just stumbled across your channel and loved this vid, you definitely have my sub mate
Pretty amazing
it's art!!!
How much this one ?
FANTASTIC may I ask please what glue and light you are using and if you know where they can be purchase the glus seemed to flow out the bottle real nice. Many thanks and hope to hear from you. John
John D i used the bugbond in this vid.. 😊
This might be good but it would help if there was no music and taking on how to tie the fly.
i enjoyed the video, WHAT VISE ARE YOU USING.THANKYOU
thanks dan!! The vise is a copy of some sort.. 360 rotation vise its called.. Flytying.eu has them.. ;-)
What website can I buy these materials from?
I'd probably try eating that myself. Nevermind a fish.
I NEED ONE WERE CAN I GET ONE
Hi, you can contact Morten Coastfly on Instagram on this link: instagram.com/coastfly/?hl=en
thanx mate
What an amazing video~~~~~~~~Amazing!
Next level 👌
Thanks 😊
what the blue light machine?!
UV light
Wait but doesn't the scent of the nail polish make the fish not want to get near the hook?
excelente trabalho
Wow amazing
Holy wow! That's coooool!
very nice
awesome!
Hey! You are the better. Congratulation!
Proportional to hook size? Great tie but I am lost on that. Bass, big bass eat big crawfish too
fantastico parabens
gorgeous for sure, but isn't the hook upside down?
Thanks a lot. Nope, this shrimp rides with the hook down :0)
Shrimp swim tail first
Will Feral I meant the hook pointing down as opposed to up like in most craw patterns. Not the orientation of the cabesa
Great job! Looks very realistic.
Why coat the body in nail polish?
Warren Chaney uv glue Can over time lose its transparancy.. the nail polish keeps it shiny for Much longer.. :-)
Insane..
soooo talented :)
awesome job.

👍👍👍👍
And line brake at the first cast.....
Its not fly tying, its fly glueing ;-)

Wow.... just ... WOW! :P
Mats Lundberg thanks!
Erhm...excuse me for thinking endurance....but gluing these legs in at the tying point wont help much
Ah I see... glue to glue more later :D
beauty shrimp!!!!
Nice tie, but heavy and will flip upside down once it hits water.
I've caught fish on a fly that was falling apart and was basically a feather tied to a hook. This level of detail is for the fisherman, not the fish.
Well done Bro 👍
Compliments 👍
that is candy
真的做得好棒喔
👍
руки растут откуда надо
Looks great, but geez that must cost $5 in UV Epoxy per fly.
Fly rods & reels easily can cost $1,000 plus, tyers get a measly small amount ($1-2.50) for their creations. Very unbalanced.
Superbe !!
nıce
That's impressive.😎👍
If a fish got away with that one , i would be upset..
Nice. Better to tye w the bend facing up bc fly is gonna flip upside dwn wen in water
Michael Duffalo not on this fly.. hook point acts as a keel, and the bubble underneath the fly (the belly) as placed there to insure that the fly swims correctly..
Yeah, it's just a work of art! It’s a pity to catch it ... Suddenly, the fish will tear, then what?
Any Bonefish or Permit would jump at the chance to eat this Fly..!
Like like like.
I'll agree it does look nice but who wants to spend that much time on one fly! Tying fly's is about catching fish not creating art, just as fly fishing is about catching fish and not how tight your loops are.
As for the negative comments uv resin was made for this, and it’s OK.
it looks like a very nice fly, but it looks like its inefficient- almost 15 minutes in a fly, and used so much uv resin, so if i deticated a full 3 hours to fly tying id have 3 colours in four sizes, one of each to see what the fish are eating, and if i got a snag it would almost justify wadeing/boating over to it, spooking all the fish there, getting my fly back, resharpening the hook, retying the end of my tippet, and finding more fish somewhere else. its an awesome looking shrimp, but, imo, hardly worth tying more than two just to have a hyper realistic shrimp to throw at picky fish- im just content with the simpler patterns i guess.
If you love flytying like i do you dont mind spending time on it.. :-)
Fair enough. I just prefer wuick patterns. More flies in the box and more time in the water. You can tie/fish however you want
looks so good I wanna eat it lol
Суппер👍
Basicly...spend 10$ in glue to make a shrimp
what do you think a shop would charge for that? Tying your own beats store bought any day of the week
Et smykke av ei Reke
This video put me to sleep!
It's better let it at home and never a fish destroy it.
interesting to watch, but that crap music playing over the top of the video coupled with no commentary is infuriating!!!
Beautiful, but who wants to spend 16 minutes to tie one fly? fish are not that smart...
Think of it as an art piece
DONT HAVE SO MUCH TIME
get a different hobby
that is the worst music i have ever heard in my life
At the first major bite, the whole structure will fall apart.
