I’ve been sitting here playing music since about 3 AM this morning. Listening to the best soul on the planet. My wife is tripping out wondering how this 51 year old white man from small town Kentucky can know all these songs and the words too. I can honestly say that my dad being a DJ and me growing up in the black projects in Mayfield KY and me making friends without seeing color has made me very well rounded. I’m very proud of it too. I wouldn’t trade my background for anything on this earth. I’m actually a very fortunate person. Sorry but I just had to brag a little. ✊🏼✌🏼🇺🇸

I still grieve the loss of such a man with a voice that was God's gift to us. No one shall ever touch us the way he did. RIP my love, you're singing with the Angels now!
I'm a 70s baby and this was what I grew up on. My generation grew up during a time of music variety. We listened to everything from Funk, Rock, Jazz, R&B to Pop. It's these genres that gave birth to Hip Hop. Run-DMC, Domino, NWA, Wu-Tang and etc. These classics were sampled because of the soul and essence of the songs and it is also what kept some of these legendary artists careers alive and not forgotten. Long live the music from the 70's, 80's and 90s!
You ain't lyin'. Seems it's those unique handful who realize theres brilliant music from every generation, all the way back. Those are the ones who typically become great artists themselves. You gotta have roots to flower.

Dear future generations do not let our songs die. Ground yourselves in these songs and you will hear our whispers in the wind...We are the Gen X, hearing our parents listening to these great songs when we were little. When we dip in here now and again, it's to reach out to memories that are forever locked in our hearts, of a time when the world was still innocent.
