I can empathize with Finn. Years ago when I was in the deep south Georgia, i got excited to hear a Filipino talked. Now, in Florida, there are more Filipinos. But imagine what i would feel if a white guy talk Filipino in the rural part of America
Icelandic is a very difficult language to learn. It is related to Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish but Icelandic has a lot of other elements that sets it apart from the other Scandinavian languages. Aside from having influences from the Irish (Celtic) language, Icelandic also is conservative when it comes to coining new words. As someone who listens a lot to Icelandic singers and dreams of Iceland, I am also amazed by that Bicolano Viking from Masbate. I'm from Albay.
Do you learn language for fun? I do. I wanna try Icelandic because I've heard it's the closest modern language to Old Norse. I'm currently studying French, Russian, German, Spanish, and Chinese.

I picked up the language very easily because I am a musician/music teacher in the US. Born and raised Filipina, sadly all I can claim to being a Pinoy since I’m what they call White washed.
