Very cute! I have bangs too. Mine are a bit longer. I never bother with makeup on my forehead and rarely do my eyebrows because they are covered too!

I'm glad I discovered your channel, I am also a Casper the ghost as well and don't wear foundation anymore because of mature skin and everything just sinks in. 54 and trying my best. If anyone has good recommendations I would appreciate it.

We are usually the same shade and I just bought light medium and I'm enjoying it. I went a shader darker than I usually get. I don't really think it's "worth" $21! Loving the hair, btw.❤
I love it and I think it feels fabulous on my 49 year old skin! I use a brush and it’s beautiful. I have lots of sun damage and texture. ❤ I’m a true light/medium neutral and the shade 30 is a little too light for me. So if you’re similar, you may want to go up a shade. However, a little concealer and bronzer can fix. LOVE YOUR HAIR!!! So cute!
The simply ageless line has been my drugstore holy grail for many many years. Would like to try this one!
OMG that physician formula liner is the best. I have old wrinkly eye lids and it went on smooth and the liner is so fine, I can actually do a cateye again.

Shelly, you’re supposed to put it on the back of your hand, then use your finger to keep mixing it up until all those beads pop and it becomes a tinted moisturizer style product. Never put it directly on the face from the pump or it will fail to do what it’s intended to do.

Great video! I have had some sort of bangs my entire life. Today I got baby bangs and my bob shortened up. A lot of times I barely put foundation on my forehead. Sometimes I bronze, when I do I use the powder type and blend up lightly towards my temples. I usually keep products light under the bangs, especially in the Florida summer. Love your hair! Looks so chic!

I’ve been waiting for you to cover this skin tint! We’re almost the same skin tone and I generally like the same type of products as you do, so have been wanting to hear your thoughts on this one. I’ve never really been able to wear the CG base products as they oxidize or are too orange for me.

I wear light-medium or medium coverage foundations (No7 Lift & Luminate, Dior Backstage, etc) and this Covergirl was a huge NO for me. It was like putting on a clear serum even after rubbing my fingers together first. I think I'll try it one more time using a brush on the back of my hand like another viewer suggested. I don't always HAVE to have light or medium coverage, but this had almost zero pigment 😢 Wish I'd waited for your review!
There is a learning curve with this product. I rub it together between my finger tips first (pressing decently hard) and then use my hands to apply and concentrate on one area of the face at a time, rubbing vigorous circles basically. It’s bizarre but the pigment does suddenly start forming. I was shocked how much coverage it actually gave considering it starts out so watery. I mean it’s still like a light medium. To me the key is concentrating one small area of the face at a time and rubbing in circles. I don’t think a brush works well because the brush soaks up the water and it doesn’t disperse very well. I think it’s super pretty when first applied and beautiful on bare skin but can be finicky over certain sunscreens and skin care so for that reason not sure if I’ll repurchase.
I would definitely mix and warm the product into my fingers before applying to my face. I think this may also blur the polka-dot pore issue. I loved the end finish. Whilst it moved around a little, keep in mind there was no priming or powder/setting spray used on this trial. I think this may also help with longevity. I can't wait to get my hands on this (when we get it in Australia) as I like light coverage serum texture tints. Love your bangs and that eyeshadow look was gorgeous on you. Love from down under xxx

From what I understand is when applying, you're supposed to use a brush to break up the little beads, then apply it to face. Maybe that would help ease the yuck of the texture?

I have too large of pores and cannot have anything settle into them. Sticking with my Dior Glow until I can find another good one. Still debating on trying the Haus Labs foundation.🤔

Oooh, I didn't get the Happy Hour limited edition Miracle Balm, but I did get the Pinky Bronze from the Bobbi 3.0 Kit and I LOVE it. I hope they make it a permanent shade offering (no glitter in that one, just a pearl sheen). That kit also had Just a Sec cream shadow in new shade Cool Taupe, and it is great. I'd call it a true neutral rather than cool, but still. Terrific one-and-done for an effortless-glam-in-2-minutes sort of day. As for the Cover Girl Essence, mmmm, polka dot pores is usually a deal breaker for me! Thank you for saving me 21 bucks.

Hi Shelly. I saw an easier way to apply the foundation. Supposedly, you pump it onto the back of your hand and either with a brush or fingers, break the beads up, swirl your brush into the foundation, and apply to your face with the brush.
You cracked me up with the cherry vanilla scented gloss. Maybe cherry Lifesavers, or cherry flavored Charms? Lumens cherry flavored cough drops? Cherry Twizzlers?
Anyway, I thought the foundation looked nice. I don't think I'd be picking it up any time soon, but thanks for using it. Have a great weekend. I'm with you. I hate snow, cold weather, and winter, period!❄️🥶🤍🤍🌨

I have the best luck with fingertips! As for before or after, it depends which way I'm wearing it. If it's going to be like a pseudo-foundation, then I'll apply it first. In the case of the Happy Hour glittery one, I use that mostly as highlight so I apply it after my foundation and dab it on to my cheeks and use my fingertips to blend it out. I mostly wear the Miracle Balm as a no-makeup makeup for the non-glitter shades, and I apply them mostly to my cheeks and most often when I'm doing a look like that, I'll use all cream products so a little cream bronzer, then the Miracle Balm... sometimes set with a little powder.

What kind of sunscreen did you use under this? I've heard lots of people have problems using it on top of that.
I wear the No7 Future Renew SPF 40 (European formula). Their sunscreen actives play so much nicer under makeup than some US ones. I wear it under everything since I got it in Ireland this past summer.
As soon as you held it up I saw Chanel which I did like but way too expensive for a repeat buy.
Also the Chanel you mixed together before applying.

We FINALLY got back above freezing today and it was 41... supposedly we'll be in the 50s later this week and knock on wood this snow will melt!! I would bet money that if we got a bunch of the regulars around here all in one room, we'd totally be BFFs. I wish we could all live in the same town or something (or at least the same region!!) lol it would be too much fun.
I've watched several reviews of this makeup and the words used to describe it are interesting. The best one so far is fish poop. 😆 This type of foundation is not for me. It just seems to be too much work to get it blended on the skin. I always apply bronzer to my hairline and I have bangs. 😊 Yea for more daylight!!! I hate winter and need sunshine to melt all this frozen stuff! 🥶

I feel like you got quite a bit of coverage!
In indoor light the shade seemed too light for you, but it looked amazing in outdoor light. I’m near your skin tone and purchased the second lightest shade, not the fair. I have plain normal skin and by the end of the day I feel tight and dry wearing the CG essence. Also, what is the point of putting bakucjiol or any other skincare ingredients over sunscreen? That does not make sense to me.
Sunscreen doesn't necessarily block penetration of ingredients (it would depend what other ingredients were in the sunscreen as far as molecule size to prevent absorption of anything on top of it). For example mineral oil has larger molecules that don't penetrate deep into the skin, thereby blocking things on top of it from penetrating - so a sunscreen with mineral oil might impact absorption of something layered on top of it. Depending which sunscreen actives you're wearing, they're either absorbing light and scattering that energy or reflecting it, but that only applies to UV rays and not physical molecules. Generally if your sunscreen doesn't have ingredients like mineral oil, and you've given it a good 20 minutes or so to set before applying anything over it, you can continue layering - but whether it's layered or not, you always want to plan a way to reapply throughout the day. (I use sunscreen powders to reapply on days when I'm wearing makeup).

I've been wearing it as a primer and I like it better that way. I like the ingredients but it's just not really a foundation if any coverage is expected.

Yes, you are right. It should be mixed before it is applied.
Love your videos so much!!! You have to blend the product, with a brush, on the back of your hand and the apply to the face. At least that’s how my Chanel Complexion Touch works the best for me.
