Yeah private individuals or consortiums etc. Some might be owned by investment groups etc, but it's hard to find the information online. If these high end instruments go into Bank collections or public collections you usually hear about it and with most of these the trail seems to run cold.
That's all a bit subjective though. It would just be my opinion. I could do top 10 most expensive American violins or something similar which has data to back it up.
