1 - The "abilities" you are asking for are all in the command list. Download the game and check what is shown. On the list itself teaches how to use the magic of Twilight and "cristals" of Rarity
2 - Rainbow and Fluttershy are playable characters since 2014. I made videos of Power Root playing with them too
