The series is supposed to be "true to the books in every detail" but we must bow to the god of diversity. So, that's out the window. Prepare yourself for a blonde Ron with his Nepalese sister Ginnie, Nigerian Molly and Peruvian Arthur. We may even get to see a truly pale Inuit Voldemort. Nagini could turn out to be a wabbit. Kingsly could turn out to be a short, balding Russian. Is it possible for a guinea pig to pull off the role of Crookshanks?

Being true to the books means that characters are just the way they are described in the books. This means Dudley needs to have blond hair and be a overweight boy, Hermione should be a girl with fuzzy hair and big teeth, characters should have the skin tone and gender/sex given in the books and Snape should be rather pale looking, with greasy black hair and a hoked nose, not African looking... If the casting is for diversity it will take away of the story, because it would feel off for people who have read the books (probably many times) have seen the movies (probably many times). In the movies when the actor who played CRabbe got arrested in real life they made Zabini one of the closer friends of Malfoy instead of finding a new actor to play Crabbe. It did however made people question why Crabbe was black all of a sudden, because Zabini wasn't such a presence in the movies.
Not only that, he's Bri'ish! He's a powerful actor but the makeup department would have a job making him pale, sallow skinned, hook-nosed with curtains of straight, greasy, black hair. I think I'd very much enjoy him delivering Snape's speech in Harry's first potions class. His voice has undertones that could really put the poison in Snape's words. "True to the books," he just doesn't fit the character description.
@@pcap9586 because the books describe him as pale, therefor a white actor with pale skin should play him. There is no reason at all to have him be played by a black actor if we have actors that much more closely resemble him in the books. Where does it stop? Why constantly change the source material for a political agenda? Why not cast Dumbledore as a short ginger haired lesbian? And also, because if we flip this around, and cast a character who is described as black in the book, by a white man, all hell would break loose.
I LOL’d when you said casting is expected to be more faithful to the source material and then immediately said characters physical attributes might be completely different from the books. So which is it?
@@brizzle3947 sorry 😞 It takes a lot of research to not use AI, around 3 days to compile infos, in the beginning it supposed to truthfully, but then other news came across and I guess I continue to write. @@tvtales2024 Diversity, Equality, Inclusion. Reality and quality have no place in this world view. The Weasleys are all described vividly as Ginger, freckled and pale. In the name of DEI, we can ignore that and cast Fred and George with a tall, dumpy black haired guy and a short skinny blonde girl with a hook nose, but it's OK. They identify as twin brothers.

“True by the book” but the casting is not true by the book. Oh the irony
Oh, get over it! It’s not the end of the world.
@@master-of-many-fandoms2020 Let me guess, you're either black or liberal or both?
If Snape is playing by an African American man I’m going to flip. Wasn’t he described in the looks as pale looking? And stuff like that?
lol African american, blonde and gay

I thought Dumbledore was pretty spot on except his clothing style which was a lot more colorful… I mean wasn’t he over 100 years old already?
What not to expect
A Good adaptation

I hope they dont ruin this franchise.
My thoughts? They probably will.
Nothing will beat our imagination while reading the books.
But we can still hope for the best 🙌🏻

So Draco will once again be robbed of a redemption arc. 🙄
What not to expect: a series worth watching if Snape is played by a black guy.
It’s just rumors. From what I’ve heard Snape will be played by Adam driver so not black, but dumbledore is supposedly black.
Can you explain why? What if they cast Hermione as a black woman? JKR in the past has said that could be possible…why not Snape?
