300dB is quite literally lethal and to generate such a level would require a rather large volcano
Tsar bomba is estimated to have been 224dB lol🤣 They are claiming that horn is louder than a nuclear bomb.🤯
Some say grandpas farts are on par.
Like Krakatoa or Tambora level volcanic explosions, which is what I thought might happen to that pot of beanie weenies😉
And decibel scale is logarithmic. So it’s not just a little bit better than stock. It’s like 2x louder at minimum.
10dB raise is doubling the noise. 194dB is maximum by the physics. 300dB would literally heard around the planet.
Considering the Saturn V produced around 220 dB at launch, which is far more than enough to immediately kill you, I'm shocked y'all even stayed in the same building when you let those 300 dB puppies rip for the first time, I wish I had Juevos that big. I guess you really do put your life on the line daily working at the Sherf department.
Love those space launches... not just loud, but those ground rumbling machines and smoke machines make for quite the show!
Ummmm no the Saturn V was never measured. The Space Shuttle Atlantis however HAS been measured at 180dB @10-20hz. Don't know where you came up with that, but it's not true.
@@bepbep7418 weird fight to pick in the comment section of a youtube motorcylce channel man. But i didnt come up with anything, i read it online in an article. Funny thing about math and science is you can use it to clacluate and estimate things like that after the fact. Im assuming considering you're vast knowledge ur well aware the decibel scale or measuring equipment didnt even exist during Krakatoas eruption, yet Scientists somehow magically sorted out that conundrum huh?
loudest sound ever 'recorded' is thought to be 310dB, when Krakatoa blew up(1800 something)
What's the highest volume we CAN survive
Have used the little cookers for years with our snowmobiles. The newer, more modern rider-forward sleds are much harder to install these onto the header, but they work! We bought a bunch of frozen chimichangas and wrapped in tin foil, then went on a ride. Hot, cheesy manifold burritos are the bomb when on trail!
hot cheesy manifold burritos... i just love that.
I worked on big rig trucks . The drivers would put a large chunk on meat wrapped in foil paper on the manifold close to the turbo . When he came in we had hot barbacoa .
I’ve used one many times on a long drive, worked great. Even just a well wrapped tinfoil works. Now I’ve got a lunch pail looking thing that plugs into the cigarette lighter plug.
FYI : Every 6dB is double the noise from before! So from 106 to 117....I think thats impressive.
It is a logarithmic scale with a base of 10. 10dB is double the loudness, although 10 times the intensity.
One new horn - 106 to 117 - 12.5 times the power.
4 new horns - 106 to 122 - 40 times the power.
4 new horns 24 volts - 106 to 124 - 64 times the power.

The Moto Loot helmet cover does pretty much everything they say it does.
I have a red one and people love it. Can’t really comment about the social media part, but I’ve had my picture taken a few times.
There are downsides to it, like limited use of your visor and wind drag(starts to pull back around 45 or 50mph).
One thing that I didn’t read anywhere was about safety. I never got cut off or had someone merge on me while wearing the cover. I guess everyone loves Elmo 😊
I've got one too, probably had 300 comments on it within 2-3 months, everyone loves it (everyone from grandparents to toddlers, everyone thinks its fun!). I've had several people borrow my helmet for photos and I too have noticed far more people seem to see you, its just so different that cognitively their brain goes from "I don't see a car, so there must be nothing" to "what was that!?!". I have the viking one with the horns, so it really jumps out in profile and you can see it way off at night and the silhouette makes it highly visible to other people even if I have a cars headlights behind me. Its also protected the finish on my helmet when I was practicing low speed figure 8's finding the max lean angle with my feet up over the handle bars in a parking lot (visor got a little scratched up, but where the cover is it didn't even leave a scratch).
It does make it much warmer, so good for winter/fall and a bit hot for summer but I'm near the coast so its not that bad in summer (wouldn't wear it in Texas summer though). Mine stays on pretty well, I'm always doing about 70-73 mph even on twisty roads so at least for those speeds I haven't had it move around much unless you're lifting the visor up, but the wind drag certainly is real and you're neck will get a bit stronger with it, lol, feels about like 20 mph faster wind speeds for just your head, but its fun.
@@RetroJohnny420-gaming it does block those, so if it's particularly hot it's extra hot, but great in the fall or winter
Well, when a biker pulls up next to you with his head up Elmo's butt, how can you not smile?
@@RetroJohnny420-gaming it covers all vents, but, at least in my case, I don’t feel any hotter than usual.
My cover doesn’t have that gold, inner liner, which I’m guessing makes it a bit thinner.
When I close my visor, it always “bites” the lower part of the mouth, not allowing the visor to fully seal and so some air can pass between the visor and fur.
Well, at least that’s the excuse I can come up with. Also, there’s no wind noise.
people definitely see a chicken riding a motorcycle a lot easier than a random dude that's for sure
Fun facts: the loudest sound ever recorded was the Krakatoa volcanic eruption in 1883, measured at 180dB, which was heard over 3000 miles away. 194dB is the loudest sustained sound physically possible (anything over that would be a shock wave (sonic boom)) and your head would literally explode when exposed to around 240dB.
That cookie monster helm cover is something I would maybe try xD
It could in theory provide more driver awareness, someone is definitely going to see that in their side mirror lol - and maybe even more so after it being weathered and decrepit quickly lmao.
I have the motoloot cover, but the alien one. I love it, and yes, people definitely notice you easier and take pictures. Visor function is reduced, but wind noise is also reduced, and during this winter, it's been acting as added insulation. It's also not so thick that you can't use a clip on headsets like Cardo or freedcon
Totally illegal in the Uk. Anything added to a helmet can affect the coefficentcy of friction. This means when your bonce hits the black stuff it can grip and snap your neck!!!!!
I own one and people definitely notice and like it! But since my naked bike doesn't have any kind of wind deflector, the extra wind drag when riding at speed can definitely take a toll on the neck!
I worked for a towing company back in the 80s. On the highway, bored, I keyed the ignition off then turned it back on getting a moderate POP. I experimented and 10 seconds was ideal. It sounded like a .38 going off and there was a fair fireball out the exhaust. I'd do this going down the highway and timed key on for when I went under an overpass. That was spectacularly loud. I made the mistake of telling a couple bozos who also worked there about it. One of them experimented with longer and longer intervals and promptly blew the muffler and tailpipe off his truck.

Craig's concern of no pressure relief on the cooker is understandable lol
Tsar Bomb, the largest nuclear weapon ever detonated was around 240 dB at ground zero. for the horns, 106 to 124db is 8 TIMES louder. So it's quite an upgrade.
The exhaust flames you can use on a carb bike under deceleration.. I used to light the pipes on my Honda coming off the highway by flipping the ignition switch off holding the throttle open.. The fuel / air mix used to light in the pipes from the heat and it would throw flames from the exhaust until I closed the throttle..
It's hard to tell them apart at that level, but for every 10 decibels you actually get 10X more sound pressure. so the single amazon horn was way more powerful than stock!
Normally a 3 db rule is used for sound, 3 db more is double the sound and 3 db loss is half.
When we had to test/inspect train horns they had to be 130db from the front and 110db from the rear of the loco. 117 is impressive.
@@ChuckKelleher 3db is double the sound *energy* , 10db is approximately double the audible volume. Power does not directly equal volume.
Debbiebabe69 is correct. Perceived sound pressure level does not work the same as power or even voltage. 10dB is perceived as twice as loud.
@@bradbutcher3984 they were measuring them incorrectly though. Its not suppose to be up against the mic
Shawn's concern for Craig's welfare in regard to dismissing the possibility of 3rd degree beanie weenie burns is heartwarming. :-)

My dad has the cooker for his snowmobile ! We know when it's getting time to stop for a bite to eat when you can start smelling sausage cooking . We use the muffler as a toaster to toast the buns etc. great invention.
The muffpot, installed wrong and not meant to have liquids in it, still did awesome. I use it for hot pockets, burritos, sammies while snowmobiling. Nice to have something hot on the mountain in a blizzard.
Ahhhh nice
I agree number 5 is great. So when I get round to re-doing the exhausts on my chopper I'm getting 2 off these, that way I can have main course and a hot dessert.
Years ago I worked at Arnott Air Suspension, they made quality products in the USA at a good price and had US based phone support. It's been a long time since I was there so I get nothing from pimping them, but if you are looking for alternative to HD air suspension they are the place to go. The reason you might want to go up and down is if you are a short guy, I've known people that used air so they could dump the bike down at stop lights and not have to be on tip toes.
I'm amazed the cooker didn't leak all over the bike

I'm loving this mini series. I've long since had ideas about building a type of exhaust kettle / cooker but have never tried to make it, glad to see someone tried putting their idea into production.
The commercial placement was just right. Craig says !cover your ears” and all of a sudden it’s cut to a commercial.
All I heard in my head when they were using the drone was
“It’s comin’ right for us”
That idea with the cooker is great, I remember my parents doing something like that back in the day with their 4.6l V8 on holiday - they'd buy these cheap chevapcici in aluminum cases and heat them in the engine bay at the lake.
There is no way I'm tieing beans to my pipes so I can eat lunch half way through the ride,if I can't stop and feed myself like a human I will quit riding
Came for motorcycles, left hungry... Thanks Sean, now I need to go make weenies and beans.
7:55 That's not how decibels work... 117 is NOT slightly louder that 106, that's around 2 times louder. And also.. thank god that this thing isn't capable of 300, because from 240 it's lethal zone, not hearing loss but strait up death.
Your flame thrower needs a small propane canister feeding gas for the plug to ignite inside the exhaust tract.
Krakatoa erupting was probably the loudest sound that human beings have ever heard. It could be heard 3,000 miles away and the shockwaves circled the entire planet 7 times...It was around 300 decibels. Lol
Muff pots ROCK! We use them all the time snowmobiling in the mountains. You can bring anything from leftover lasagna wrapped up in foil, leftover Mexican or Chinese to Hot Pockets, hot Italian sandwich, hot dogs, or whatever you want. You name it we've cooked it out there.
I have no clue how you managed to keep driving after the lab reacting like that to you yelling Yo Dinasaur.... That was definetly your old dog... And I would have been stopping to say hi as soon as I saw that reaction!
I keep thinking there can’t be anymore Amazon videos, but then somehow you do it and I am absolutely here for it 🤘🏻
So much for a spark arrestor to be safe off road. Just use the "off road only" exhaust flame thrower!🤣🔥
It’s ok, just a canyon wildfire, what can go wrong?
Years ago, traveling salesmen would cook food while driving by wrapping food in foil and place it on the manifold. Worked like a charm!
That dog fs was his, he said 🦕 and the dog started looking and getting excited
You should definitely build that propane flame exhaust and sell it in your merch shop!
Man you could of cooked hotdogs with those flames coming out of the exhaust 😂
You guys make me laugh like an episode of "The Office"! Great stuff.
The cooker reminds me of an old episode of ‘Wings’ and the ‘Car-B-Q’…
300 decibels is enough energy to split the earth like an apple.
Great video guys. This was so funny. Good editing. What the world needs during these troubling times. Great scripture for the times as well. God bless you guys and Merry Christmas from snowy NW Montana

The reason why pairing 4 horns instead of 1 only increased from 110 to 130 is because decibel scale is not linear, it is logarithmic. For every mile you pass on your trip, for example, your distance traveled increases by a mile and total number is the addition of all the equally spaced miles traveled. But going from 60 to 80 dB and then going from 80 to 100 and then from 100 to 120 is not the same equal increment in the sound. It gets much much louder for every dB you increase. Exponentially louder. A normal conversation you have is 70 dB and a gunshot is 140 dB, just to give an example.
The loudest possible sound is just over 190db. 300db is not possible.
@@qua7771 I am not sure. I heard that the sonars of large ships get to over 200 dB. But yeah that is in water idk if that is also possible in air.
@@petricacristiannicolae8460 Former Navy avionics tech here (P-3 Orion in flight tech). I was always taught that 194dB is the loudest sound possible at sea level due to a maximum pressure deviation. Fluids are different, so in water 300dB may be possible.
That's the most convoluted explanation for a logarithmic scale I've ever seen.

I don't know how well that cooker will hold up on trails but Holy moly I want it.
Not sure why I clicked on this. But your horn tests just saved me a few bucks. Thanks guys. Keep it up.
My Dad had a 30's car in 1944-45 with skull and cross bones painted on the doors. Lol He told a story of drilling a hole, and putting a spark plug right in the end of the pipe which had a curved end, and a switch to the coil. He said flames shot out enough to burn the paint off cars if he switched it on and was close enough. Of course those old cars had plenty of unburnt fuel still coming out the pipe, and yeah, it's a good story. Modern engines are so efficient, there's no unburnt fuel making it out the pipe like the cars of old days. Love the channel, keep up the good work!
The air shocks are more of a cool factor. You get a center stand normally and when you park you dump the air and it sits straight up and down and looks good. Really popular with the big wheel baggers and custom bikes,

the loudest sound ever recorded was 305 db and the pressure wave from that volcano eruption travelled round the world 3 times, spoiler alert the horns didn't reach the advertised amount, but I'm still kinda impressed by the figure
117 dB is pretty loud. Sounds between 170-200 dB are so intense that they can cause lethal issues like pulmonary embolisms, pulmonary contusions, or even burst lungs. The fact that anyone would buy a horn advertised at 300 dB just shows we need natural selection to start taking it's course. 300 dB is not possible as a continuous sound in air because the maximum overpressure is double atmospheric, with the troughs a vacuum, which works out at 194 decibels.
You guys make me laugh more with each video! 😂

With any cheap Chinese-made pneumatic product, be it train horns or air-ride kits, NEVER use the included teflon tape or even your favorite brand of teflon tape. Always use thread sealant for all threaded connections and you won't have to do more work going back to fix leaks. I learnt this the hard way on multiple installs, and my recommendation is either thread sealant or buy higher quality kits.
