I know this might be a controversial opinion, but I truly think this is the greatest video game of all time. There are incredible video games, such as Mario, Halo, and Animal Crossing, but there’s something about Minecraft that isn’t like the rest. It isn’t just a video game, it’s also an art form. And there is a distinct feeling whenever you’re exploring a huge cave system, or being accidentally killed by a creeper, your first dog, it all gives a feeling that can’t be replicated in any other video game, heck, it can’t be replicated period. Minecraft is exemplary, and Notch thought he was going to create a video game, but instead of that, he created a new feeling, he made our childhoods, he made the thing that we would comfort ourselves with. I think this Minecraft is the greatest game ever made.
It's not controversial, it's truth. We ALL played Minecraft, through the negativity, through the hate and we made memories. It's a strong part in our childhoods, it's forever the best game
You know why it is like that? It's because Minecraft is not really a game but a platform. Minecraft in itself is not the game - the players make the game. Halo, Mario, Animal Crossing are all games that have a story or a purpose in their gameplay. Minecraft is simply a foundation on which people can create whatever they want, infinite possibilities :)
Since everyone is sharing their stories, I'll share mine too. It was...2012, I think? I snuck onto my sister's computer and played on her Minecraft world. It was a spongebob map that she took off of a website. I remember being chased down by spiders and skeletons, I was so scared back then. Then I got it. Minecraft for my computer. I remember building houses out of sandstone bricks and making tiny streams that went on for hours. I remember making giant pebble cubes filled with glass and water. I was bullied back then, so I had no one to play with. All i did was build, and write down make journal entries that I hid in a chest. Then my sister corrupted my save world. I remember the pure horror in my eyes. I was really mad at my sister for years. Then, 2015 rolled around. I got minecraft for the Wii U. I remember staying up all night playing the elytra minigame...the good days. I never had anyone to play with. Then, when I did...I accidently pushed them away. Thank you Minecraft. For the memories. For the fun times I had by myself. And without you, I would've never met my ex-friend. Hey, 2021 edit! Me and the Ex-Friend I mentioned are now talking again and I've never been better! :) Thanks for the support in the comments, you guys made my day.
I think nostalgia is just one part of Minecraft soundtrack, there is just something more... something sooo sad and happy at the same time, something so dark yet so light, something far far away and yet.. so close... something I cannot describe.
it encapsulates the feeing of just. being alone, being free to do whatever you want, but it also captures the loneliness of the game, knowing that there's no one else like you around, unless you're in multiplayer. it's such a profoundly beautiful and deeply sad song. it reminds me of a sad smile
You get to remember the first time you played it and the fact that you were introduced into a world with countless possibilities waiting to be explored. "Nostalgia" for Minecraft is wanting to go back to when you didn't know what you were meant to do or what your purpose was. Long story short, you miss being free from knowledge and responsibility.
When I listen to this, I think about all the lost worlds. The worlds that you regrettably deleted or your friends deleted. The worlds on old consoles that broke or the worlds that got corrupted. The worlds that are on past friends' consoles that you don't play with anymore. All the times you did the classic tutorial world and tried to build something cool. All the free texture pack tutorial worlds that you did so you could have the texture for free. Your first server with your friends. The pocket edition worlds that had 0 block variety, and then the upgrade to PC worlds with insanely different features. The hunger games servers you used to play on. All the random worlds you would create and do stupid things on like put TNT everywhere then leave forever. So many worlds with dogs waiting for you to come back. All of them. But you'll never be able to. I'm 18 now. It's been a good 6 or 7 years of playing Minecraft and there are a lot of worlds that I lost forever. Thank you Minecraft, for the incredible memories this game has provided me and the many more I hope to continue making with my friends as we enjoy the powerful nostalgia this game has.
Omg yes. I used to have an ipad that had my first world. I built an ugly brick house by the ocean and just.... built stuff. I built a target with a button in the middle (First redstone thing i did.) I built a small boat. I burned it down once cuz i didnt know how to use monster spawners and instead of a egg i used flint and steel and the wooden roof caught fire. I panicked and cried for so long lol. (I was like 5 btw) My mom mustve been so confused on why i was crying about a virtual house.
My 360 recently passed and I lost a world me and my sister played on and it was one of the few things we did together. I also lost so many old builds and survival worlds from when me and my friend used to play. I would explore the Nightmare Before Christmas world all the time, I would go into creative and kill the dragon.
Bro me too, my tablet passed has all my old worlds and i lost everything. Im so sad... i play with my friends and we laugh all the time, im from mexico and i still remember my worlds when i listen this music i'm now 12 and i hope can play with my friends again. good bye boys :')
Last December, my Xbox 360 was subject to the Red Circle of Death.. My first ever Minecraft world was lost. Most of my older ones I have on a hard drive. But that world where me and my best friend used to cheat the world. The house me and my sister built together. All of it was gone.
I try to discourage my boys from playing games too much - but yeah, the music was so zen that I actually wanted them to continue playing, heh :) Subwoofer lullaby got me, but the whole soundtrack is extremely meditative
I’ve played a lot of video games throughout my childhood, but nothing has ever really hit as hard as Minecraft. This video has reminded me of all the memories I’ve made with this game, from asking my mom for her phone to wander aimlessly in a pocket edition world, or playing on a Minecraft server for the first time. Minecraft really has walked me through my life and will always be a part of it, to be a sanctuary to express my creativity when life gets too much to bear. The music will never cease to make me cry and remember everything this wonderful game has done for me. Thanks for reading if you are, and thank you Minecraft for making our childhoods so much better. :)
This feels so sad and nostalgic.. In case anyone is reading this I remember one day getting on Minecraft after going out to eat with my mom. I'm playing and I notice my hunger bars are low so I say "Im hungry" and my mom looks at me and says "What? We just ate!" I laugh and tell her I meant on the game, not in real life and she laughs.
I'm close to adulthood now, but everytime I come back to this game, this soundtrack or the cringey minecraft videos that once brought me laughter, I remember a time when I was never stressing, anxious or sad. I just remember everyday was great, from going to school with no stress and seeing my friends of whom many I have not spoken to since, to coming home and turning on my xbox and hopping into the countless new worlds and adventures me and my friends would go on to have. This game has single handedly given me the most memories a game could ever give, from trolling my friends to the point of tears to the late nights mining with friends I met online who later became just a memory. There's no way for me to show my gratitude to this game more than to continue playing it till the day that I finally log off for the last time, say bye to the countless dogs and cats I loved as a child, saying bye to the simplistic yet amazing textures this blocky game has, saying bye to the feeling of getting your first diamond or the feeling of spawning into that tutorial world on my xbox 360. Now that I'm going into adulthood with all these new things to stress about, I always know this game will be there to help me feel like a kid and bring me back to the times I was most enjoying my life. Thank you Mojang for making my childhood memorable and thank you for creating a sanctuary for me that I can go to whenever I need it most.
Fuckin same man, I remember playing Minecraft when I was only 7 and it was just the best fucking thing ever. I remember when there wasn't even a hunger bar. I remember losing my shit over a 'creative mode', I remember coming home from school everyday and hopping straight on the family computer and playing minecraft. I have this vivid memory of losing my base in my first world, and I was sad. So I made a second house. It was bigger and I made a watch tower and I made so many things that were absolutely digusting in design but it brought me so much joy. Seriously mang, Mojang outdid themselves.
I remember, 2012 my brother got an XBOX 360 for his birthday, he was 14 and I was 6, I would watch him play his usual games such as COD and more, but one day I was watching him play, and he switched to another game, full of blocks. He was on a flat world and he was in the middle of a huge project, a mansion made with wood planks and beautiful stone, I got addicted, I asked him what the game was, "Minecraft Kalo, it's called Minecraft" and went back to building with his mates. I searched it up, found Stampylonghead and watched his videos, from the first to his hundreds after months and months, I loved the game. One day he was going out for rugby practice and I asked if I can play on his console and he said yes. I put the disc in for Minecraft and started playing, I made a railway and started to understand the game more, his friend came online, I said I was his little sister and wanted to try the game out, he taught me through the basics, how to build in creative, the controls and even started a survival with me. Age 7 I got an iPod for my birthday and I asked my sister to pay for Minecraft pocket edition, back then the game didn't have hunger and it was very basic, but I still loved it. I had this survival world and I remember when I first found gold I started screaming so happily, they didn't have caves back then. Fast forward to years and years until I'm in year 5, I find this guy in my grade named Charlie, he loved Minecraft (and he was the only person I knew who loved the same games as me), he also loved FNAF and we shared memories together. Talked about DanTDM, PopularMMOS, LDShadowLady, all our favourite Minecraft UA-camrs. We talked about COD (because when I was 7 I started properly gaming with my brother and he showed me how to play FPS games) and we grew to become close friends, after year 6 I moved to another high school but still sometimes catch up with him. I'm in year 9, turning 14 on the 13th of May, almost the same age when My brother first introduced me to the gaming world when I was a young girl. Minecraft was a great experience throughout my childhood, through teasing and isolation during primary (elementary) school, being considered weird by other females for playing video games. Though not having such loyal friends through growing up, I miss my childhood and every time I hear Minecraft sounds and songs anywhere nostalgia hits well, I know I still have my teenhood to go through but the fact that Minecraft helped me and others get through life truly hits home. Thank you Mojang, Microsoft, C418, Jeb, and Notch for creating not just a game, but all of our childhoods. You truly did change and shape everyone's lives. I can't wait for future generations to look back at such games that built our childhoods aswell --------------------------------------------------------------- E- 9 months after, want to say a great thank you to his friend who helped me out that day. The talks we had were fun, and though you would be in your twenties now and no longer in contact with my brother. Just hope you're doing well mate, really made a great friend back then even, if it was for a single day *And a nice reminder to everyone, if you still have the world somewhere. Go inside and check up on it, you should know what I'm taking about. Creative or survival, it's a good time to check on it, feed your pets, maybe clean up some chests. But overall 2020 is ending in 4 days and I'm just gonna wish luck for everyone in the new year :)*
@Kira Stump yeah well the community around me said otherwise lmao. I was shunned by the females in my schools because I preferred games over dressing up and shit, but at least someone could relate to me too🙂
I feel that if you really just start playing Minecraft you cant stop, and after a while it can help you through things that are tough to comprehend, what I am saying is that every Minecraft player has a story based around it. And most of the time, they come from the heart.
Minecraft is always there for you. You have a bad day at school, work, etc. It can be solved with minecraft. Parents fighting? Minecraft Hotel? Minecraft Notch not only created a video game, but a whole generation of nice, respecting, humble people. This game is a connection of friends, lovers, family. I was going through a rough time when I got this in my recommended. My dog recently died from kidney failure and stem cell depletion. My parents were fighting. I had bad grades. I honestly thought about commuting suicide every day. I was looking through UA-cam in my recommended and found this video. It brought tears to my eyes listening to the calm, yet intense strings being plucked at perfect times. I decided to boot Minecraft back up and play it again and it changed everything. Ten months later, I found this video again and I thought of my dog, macey. I don’t think about her dying, but I think about the good times. When my mom brought her home for the first time. When I fed her for the first time. When I took her camping. And when I pet her brittle, old self for the last time. A perfectly imperfect dog. A perfectly imperfect game.
The parents fighting one hits home for me, I remember being 9-10 and one time they fought, while I was in the living room finishing a house I made in a village, I remember tearing up because it was so loud but I carried on playing, Minecraft carries so many different emotions in its gameplay and soundtrack alike
Remember those old days? When you first mined your first ore, you cut down your first tree, made your first house, and finally got diamonds. If you miss it just remember this, “don’t cry because it’s over, smile cause it happened”.
Tamed your first dog finally got a cat after countless of hours searching and getting mad at it beating the ender Dragon knowing there's nothing more to this than fun
Moog city songs just crack my heart from the beautiful memories. We would watch Minecraft house building tutorials and build the houses block by block and yet still feel amazing... The first diamond... Imagine having a son in the future and seeing him play Minecraft... Just hoping he will find diamonds only to hear "Daddy I found diamonds!" would crack my ❤️. All of us wanted to be like some of the famous creators out there, I wanted to be DanTDM and so I got his skin, built his lab in a desert near a tundra forest and talked to myself while playing pretending to be recording. My mother still has recordings of me being like that and I always cry from nostalgia. Remember your first time joining the game thinking that it's Just some random game but when I play it, you cant realize how much time has passed. Here's a good memory of mine: My grandma had a computer and I always loved to be at her place just playing Minecraft and building my house with fountains and eventually making a town, yet I never finished it. I just hope to have kids and give them an amazing childhood. We may be poor but we can still be happy. Thank you Minecraft, for giving a lot of ppl a childhood such as mine... We will never know when we placed our last block or said goodbye to our dogs or cats for the very last time just not realizing that goodbye was the last till you die...
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Unknown The quote at the end of Minecraft
something wholesome: told my dad he was immortalized into minecraft because he had a piece of the soundtrack with his name on it (chris) and he is incredibly happy
To everyone who's studying with this music: Checklist: • A bottle of water, at least 1 liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate 💦 • Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time 🔋 • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late night study session, you won't wake up anyone, 🎧 • a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well. ☕ • Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/ phone, a few pens, paper or whatever you need. 📖 Anything else you could need, what about a heat pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐕 Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me. You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. You can also listen to the audiobook while doing another thing, that's even better than listening to music while reading the book. I hope y'all had a good day, if not, that's okay too. Remember to take care of yourself and try to get some sleep tonight 😴 🐻 (This comment isn't originally mine but I want to keep it for myself as well as help other people 🤗) Also a side note from me: remember that life doesn't get easier you get stronger! You have endured everything life has thrown at you till now and will continue to do so! Keep pushing on and remember to take a break..🤗
This game wasn't only my first game, it was my childhood... Man I miss playing this game on my old computer in the warm, Swedish summer. It was amazing.
Minecraft nunca morira, siempre estara en los corazones de los gamers ;D/Minecraft will never die, it will always be in the hearts of gamers ;D Los recuerdos dan una nostalgia... y yo jugaba la 1.2.5 xDDDD/ Memories are nostalgic ... and I played MineCraft 1.2.5 xDDDD
Very true. I don't have minecraft but play it for forever with my friend whenever I go over to his house, we'll play it for hours and we're both 16, yet at the end of the day, when I come home, I'm like.... well crap I can't get this thought out of my head.
this hits different when you've been playing minecraft since you were an 8 year old tablet kid and are now listening to this staring at the window of a university dorm
sorry to hear that. haven't graduated yet so i can't really say much but i can tell you that no matter what comes at you nowadays, you keep pushing. make the best out of your time in university, there's always something to learn and take away from every one of our experiences. in the meantime, relax and enjoy the music. i wish you well wherever you are and take care.
I can relate heavily. Crazy to think I’m a senior in college about to graduate. I literally just searched up Minecraft Music to help me write my paper and here I am reading your comment lol
Im actually really sad because i look back at myself sitting in a chair not realizing that those moments were going to be the most beautiful one’s i will ever make. If I could go back I would do it again but slower this time. We often don’t realize that the moments we are living in are the moments we will be most nostalgic about and so we don’t stop and allow ourselves to be more present. Maybe its because we don’t really have any real sense of tracking time because everyday seems the same. Either way I hope we can all be more present to enjoy the beautiful moments that we can make right now.
Reading these comments as my son is trying to fall asleep to the soundtrack. He's only 5 but already a huge Minecraft fan. And us parents have ended up being fans too and we all play together. It's given us life. I also love reading your amazing memories of the game and its making me feel happier about screen time if he's playing this. Lovely to read about how much you gained from playing and how relaxing those times were.
Uh, nice sentiment but the point of the game is to get more resources and farm things, if you literally just want to survive you can build a tiny dirt container and stand still so your hunger doesn't run down but the fun comes from always getting more and improving things in your world
We played, we tried We laughed, we cried We succeeded, we died We respawned and thrived From the zombies, to the endermen From the skeletons, to the pigmen From the spiders and creepers And from those annoying griefers From the biomes of jungles to sands To the mushrooms and other obscure lands From the snow and ice To the swamps which never looked too nice From moments with friends we’ll cherish From a time we hoped Herobrine would perish From the great animations To the UA-cam sensations Along with those musical incantations I thank Mojang for creating my childhood Much better than just ‘good’ I think I speak for everyone here When I say this is not game of the year It’s the game of the century As it offered us with plenty And these memories will never leave Just like the thought of first playing as Steve So I say close your eyes And listen to the music with surprise As your memories of Minecraft were once apart But now can be fixed like a broken heart In order to find your memories core You must go back to the world of Minecraft once more And defeat the Ender Dragon one last time As the sweet sounds of your childhood begin to chime One last thing, for me to say Which would be, have a nice day Also for you to never forget this game Nor the journey that came As a part of that journey was the end Quite literally, not pretend Just like this poem, which I hope you have all read As I would love it if this poem and this game are remembered once I’m dead. edit: thank you for the likes :0
Everyone when we are little kids we wish to be older to do the things we want, but now that im almost 18yrs old i wish that when I was little I would have liked to have had enough maturity, to reflex and give thanks for everything that happens to me every day, because at that time everything was great, there was nothing to worry about. Life was really good. And now im kind of scared about the future because im afraid of ending in a career i dont like because, i cant go to the career i really like. Im scared of wasting my life in things i dont like instead of doing what i really like and fills me up with joy. Im scared that one day may be later or sooner, i will say goodbye to my parents. Im scared about losing my best friend. So why instead of regreting the things you didnt appreciated it years later, why we dont take a moment and say thanks about everything that had happened us. So at the end of our lives we go to the bed happy and comforted
It's 1 in the morning and I'm currently in my bed, I had passed out accidentally at around 12am while watching a video but then woke up, to this calming music from auto play being on, 2 hours in. How nice.
Yesterday I was trying to play Minecraft when the game froze, I had to make a lot of things to make it work again, but in the meantime, I tried to open the game, I was playing on the PS4, then the game opened a lot different, that old screen, that old Mojang logo, the version was a little bit different that the version I played on my old 360, but the feeling was the same, opening the play button, the "New World" and "Play Tutorial" buttons, that old and destroyed house at the tutorial, the flame bow at the chest on the entrance of that big construction that I never discovered 100%, then that nostalgic feeling, I, for whatever reason, remembered the first mob I killed, I was in a village and a spider was at the door of my house, it took a few hearts off of me, but I won the fight, I was very young so I was so scared with that spider that I went on creative after that night lol. But everyone had his adventure, mine was playing on creative with my cousin when they were at my house, I remembered I created a house with a river of lava protecting it, then my cousin tried to do the same and her house was set on fire, we put water on every block, I remembered when my little cousin was watching me and my other cousin playing and she wanted a house so we built a house with every wool color, and obsidian, the "Carnival" house lol, I remembered when I built a house and then exploded it, so I made a sign and wrote "R.I.P house 123" and it became a meme of ours, those days were days I could never forget, times of no problems nor expectations, today I'm playing the 1.16 update and even after all these years, Minecraft still lives on my heart.
i had the minecraft xbox edition, which had so much nostalgia to it. most worlds were on creative world and i remembered me and my brother building diamond houses, being creative with what we built and even adding stuff to the house. we even put 5 full stacks of armor in armor stands, had diamond swords and diamond pickaxes. honestly, im not really sure, but they probably didnt have enchantment books at the time.
I am currently out of school for the next two weeks, and I'm listening to this while doing my schoolwork. It brings back so many memories and is helping me with my work. So, thank you.
This gave me so much nostalgia! every time I listen to original Minecraft music, the ends of my mouth just about go to my ears. I miss the old days when they never added the new music. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the new music, I enjoy listening to it, but nothing will ever replace all the memories I've made throughout all my 7 years of playing this wonderful game. before I go on, I'd like to tell everyone how I first started playing: 7 years ago (or when I WAS 7), it was my brother's 8th birthday, and he'd been wanting Minecraft for a few months now. my mom said he could buy it. and so, when we got home from Walmart, he turned on the tv, turned on the Xbox 360, and put the disc in. this is back before multiplayer was added, or at least before we had a tv that would support it. he had NO idea how to play it, so he started with the tutorial. he played for about an hour (we always called it our "time"), then he got off to go to the store with my dad. I asked him if I could play before he left, and he said yes. I grabbed the controller, sat down in the chair, and turned on Minecraft. just like my brother, I had no idea what I was doing. I created a world without doing the tutorial first, so I guess you could've called me a noob back then. I didn't have much in my inventory, just a few things I'd broken from earlier. I noticed it was getting dark, and I remembered my brother telling me before he left "make sure you're not outside when it's dark, or monsters will attack you". I was instantly nervous. I saw a village in the distance, not knowing what it was at the time, so I ran to it. before I knew it, it was pitch black out. I ended up falling in a pond, and couldn't see. I paused the game and left it there until my brother came home to help me. back then, I hardly played on any electronics, because I had friends to play outside with every day. I always went outside as early as 9:00AM and didn't come in until about 10:00PM. that lifestyle continued until 4 years later when my mom told us we were moving to be closer to my grandma, who was getting older. my mom said she wanted to be closer to her in case something happened. at first, I thought she was joking, but I soon found out she was serious. I was devastated. I didn't want to leave my friends or my home or my life. I spent my entire life around my friends, and I knew it wouldn't be the same without them. a few months after my 11th birthday, we had everything packed and we were ready to move. I was still upset about moving. I hugged all my friends and spent a few minutes saying goodbye. my lifelong friend (I won't say his name, just to keep his privacy safe) and I cried. I hugged him one last time, and then we drove off. we waved to each other as we drove off onto a new life. about 2 years ago, I learned to play Minecraft on the computer, and that's the way I've played up until today. now, I'm 15 days away from my 14th birthday, and Minecraft is now my life. I'm an expert with building, my PVP isn't too bad, and my Redstone skills are a work in progress. my brother has created a gaming channel, and I play with him. my dad plays Minecraft with us every so often, and we're going to help my mom learn to play. I play with my friend (who I've known since I was 7) on Minecraft, and we're able to talk through discord. Minecraft helped me through moving twice, and many other things. I wish everyone who reads this to have a great rest of your day/evening, and whatever happens, keep a positive outlook on life. I'm now working on other projects as well: I write stories, and I want to become an author one day I'm an excellent drawer, and I hope to use my talent for good things I'm keeping in touch with my family and friends who I've known all my life, no matter how far away they are from me. I'm also working on creating a made-up language called Avalinian, and I hope to finish it within next year or sooner. have a great day everyone! :)

listening to this after explaining to a friend why minecraft is so great and these comments say a lot about why. I'm 22 (probably first played around 11) and don't play much anymore but this game affected my life in many ways. It not only connected me with people i may have never been friends with, but also gave me comfort when a lot of my teenage years were confusing and I wished I could just grow up. Now that i'm basically an adult part of me wants to go back but I am excited for the future. I still always keep it downloaded on my computer if I want to run it and it always takes me back to what now seem like simple times. Thank you everyone for making this a great game and community and changing my life for the better
Minecraft has always been one of my favorite games, from watching old videos on YT, to playing it on the Xbox 360 with my brothers with the free demo before we finally bought it and played it a lot, to the time I upgraded to the Xbox One version of the game, and now playing bedrock edition of the game on Xbox One I'm 23, and I have a lot of memories when it comes to Minecraft, especially when it comes to me and my younger brothers, I remember when I was living with my dad in middle school, I felt lonely when I played Minecraft, my older brother didn't show interest in playing Minecraft with me, nor did some of the kids in the neighborhood I was friends with, even if I played games with them like Call Of Duty or even GTA 5, Minecraft was the one game I loved a lot, hell, a lot of people in middle school played the pocket edition of Minecraft, I did too, but I loved playing it on the Xbox One when I got it upgraded, I just felt kind of lonely because my dad didn't play with me, I only had my cousins to play with anytime they came over, I missed playing with my brothers. All of us are all grown up, but listening to Minecraft music and playing it makes me wish we could all play together again and make more fun memories
I want to give my opinion, this kind of music is the kind that when you hear it all your life happens in front of your eyes. Is the kind of music that when you hear after a long time will make you cry. Honestly hearing all this music makes me want to play on 1.11.2 and hear this masterpieces. I don't know if this only happens to me but when I started plating minecraft (2010) this songs relaxed me, in these days this songs makes me cry. Minecraft is not just a game its a virtue, an art.
I turn off the music CAUSE IT ISN'T THE OLD TnT I want the old back . . . I want all the old Minecraft stuff back all the simple stuff the wholesome stuff just EH
@@Smol_Schan It's because of the tears. All of the tears as we look back at our memories. :] I hope that everyone who reads this has a good day today :D
@@antonioguglielmetti2661 i can feel the nostalgia, I lost a minecraft world from when I first got my xbox 360 and I finally found it, lol I found the places where I tried to summon herobrine, tried to hatch dragon eggs, and where I built a hotel for villagers
I also have videos from my old youtube channel from when I was 7 called Chuckster 7, yes, very cringe, that channel is now my new channel, CharlestonMelon
it's weird. these songs are nostalgic, which amplifies what you feel listening to them, but they're also in general very well composed. the tracks give you a sense of awaiting adventure and infinite possibilities, but also the things you may miss out on if you only focus on main gameplay. it's like its telling you to calm down, smell the roses. take a look around and give yourself time to relax. it can be easy to forget to do that sometimes. the minecraft ost is amazing and one of my favorites of any game i've played, and continues to be my all-time calm down music. kudos, c418.
I remember... when it was my big Brother's Birthday, and my Mom, Dad and me were downloading the game Minecraft for him when I was the only sibling; (1/4, now 1/5) home. My Dad liked playing and fighting mobs with my brother lol, while I was a coward. When I made my own world, I always looked up at the clouds. Whenever I heard a noise, my stomach lurched. ( I'll let you know that I was very scared of anything back then ). I always played the music loud on the TV, and because of that, I'll always remember this music. Anyway, about me and my old world back then, ( Now corrupted, sadly ), when it was my first in-game day there and then as soon it was sunset, I was like: Wait, if the " mobs " didn't come out at day and it's turning nighttime, then I might be in trouble. I need to hide, " *hide forever* ". I built a dirt house, on *ice* lol. " sweden " Played during the sunset, and then as soon as I was in the dark dirt house, the sad part of the " sweden " song played. I think you remember when I said that I was scared of any noise, so when a mob made a sound, I panicked, but I remembered that I was in the safe, sweet home that I built. I still worried if the mobs could get in, so I was on watch. One day, I was tired of being scared. So, I went out there, climbed a mountain and then I saw a black figure next to me. I turned around and then I saw a red-eyed Enderman with a slightly big head. The head shape was kinda like a villager, But no other features. Now note in mind that this was in the early Minecraft years, so things were different then they used to be back then. I still wonder if that was when the Minecraft Developers were trying to still add the right look for the Endermen, but I wasn't sure. I'm still not sure til' this day, but I still Adventure in the beautiful worlds, skies, music and biomes of the Minecraft World. ( I honestly still play the game, since you gotta play while you're still young ). Thank you Notch :> ( Btw, this is the same comment that I put on the 75 minute minecraft video too. )
This music is built different. It’s been able to help calm me down during a bad time of my life. The memories I get of just wandering, building a massive pyramid, mining, or farming peacefully are too good. This music is just the best anchor point you could ever hope to have during this crazy life
Man, everytime I hear this soundtrack I remember just spending hours in my best friend's basement, playing minecraft back in 2012 and building ugly houses. I absolutely love this sountrack, thanks for this video
I remember this music. It makes me feel deep things. Like when you made a new house and you forgot where your old do was.... and you cried for a week.... and told everybody to help you and you would find it.... but you didn’t. The thought I get
This brings back old memories of me still being new to Minecraft as a kid. I used to love finding villages and playing around with the different stuff and mobs in creative mode. Playing with mods introduced me to an entire new world, an entirely new perspective I thought was never possible to see.
I remember going to my friends house one day and he was playing Minecraft which just came out on Xbox. We started a super flat world and every time I went to his house he would show me something new he added and we would build for hours on end. Giant statues, rollercoasters, houses made of nether brick with matching creeper carpets. One day I went home and finally bought Minecraft on my Xbox 360 and the first thing I did when I loaded into a creative world is go to the top of a mountain and start building a rollercoaster. My friend taught me everything I know that has to do with red stone and Minecraft in general. He was one of my best friends but over time we grew apart and stopped hanging out. He either stopped playing Xbox or got a new account since I never see him on and I haven’t talked to him since. I hope he’s doing well and is still enjoying the game as much as me :)
Fun fact: reading the comments while listening to this will make you feel alot more nostalgic And cuz of me doing that I remember my dog the died because of me trying to build a fire place in my wood House and he got burnt and i didnt know how to svae him or make him stand up back in the day :(
Sweden was the one that hit me hardest. It reminded me of back when i was younger, and i went to my friends house to check out this new game called "Minecraft". I clearly remember burning the villages down because they had no good stuff, building a mob proof base, finding my first diamonds on survival (From the noises I was making you would have thought i had won the lottery :D), my first dog, my mega base, I discovered hypixel, watching Stampy and Squid... Those were the days. But now, I feel that magic is just almost gone. What happened Mojang?
Personally Clark hits me the hardest. It reminds me of my first time ever playing Minecraft, when I was on the Xbox 360 tutorial world. Every time Clark comes on, I pause and remember when iI was a young explorer, exploring the tiny snow biome next to the castle. I remember when the snow gently fell around me, seeing what I thought was the coolest looking castle in the world standing on the horizon. I remember the minecart tracks leading up to it, and constantly riding them back and forth in awe of the incredible design and simplicity of it all. I remember exploring the villages and stealing all their beds, all in a simple act of needing them for... wait I don't remember why. Anyway, I just love thinking of the good times back then, and remembering all my first-times when Clark comes on.
Pal, you can defeat it theres a secret code , ya see during the growing up boss battle i realized that growing up only effects your body and all you have to do is mentally never grow up remember this next time you come against him hope ur well u r loved.

I listen to this while doing homework, reading, or art and it gives me such good memories of sitting on the wood floor in my living room playing 4 way split screen with my older brothers when I was younger. Good memories :)
@UCtcmEwQro6Dlx6MxAoZC_Hw lmao the heaven. If you’re going to talk about something controversial then at least use proper grammar so that when people critique what you said, you won’t sound like an idiot. I agree with you though.
For me, Haunt Muskie has to be the most nostalgic. It’s haunting in its beauty, and never fails to amaze me every time I listen to it. Congratulations, Daniel Rosenfeld. You made so many childhoods over the years without knowing it. Edit: forgot to include taswell. Taswell is an absolutely incredibly and also haunting song, like you’re walking down a hall of memories from your past, an out of body experience. It’s unreal, and these 2 tracks are clearly (in my opinion) unmatched by any other. It’s just a block game, I know. But feelings can’t be beaten. Thank you for creating my childhood Daniel. Truly a sincere thanks.
I'm actually *_Extremely_* stressed from everything happening right now, and minecraft is like my very own world that I can do whatever I want in and my problems don't exist there.
Not only happiness but a mix of every other emotion, too. I hear this soundtrack and I'm overwhelmed by every good event, bad event, anything that made me cry, laugh, burst in anger, feel helpless... everything.... I can bring it all back here, and remember...
coming back to this video after having not seen it in while truly is a blessed feeling thank you for making this its truly a beautiful place and a truly beautiful creation
It certainly has similar chill aspects associated with lofi music lately, however I'd say it's not actually lofi. Lofi is short for Low Fidelity, in other words low audio quality music. The whole point of the lofi genre is to create music that sounds old and low (audio) quality. This music is very much high audio quality. Although now that I wrote that, I'd point out there are a few songs in the minecraft soundtrack that C418 created using intentionally poor recording techniques, so it could certainly be argued that there are songs in minecraft that are quite literally lofi (I forget which ones) There's your unwarranted fun fact for today :D (anyone more knowledgeable than me feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong)
Ah, Minecraft... A game that defined my life for more than half of it... A game where people could get together and have fun exploring, mining, and creating as much as they please. A game that strengthened bonds. A game that birthed new friendships. A game that absolutely defined a generation of Miners, Crafters, and Creators. Thank you Mojang, for creating a game that will resonate with millions in the coming future...
Definetley one of the best soundtracks to listen to if you're looking for calming music. I remeber the glory days. When after school you would hop on Minecraft with your friends and start mining looking for diamonds, fight monsters at night, go to the Nether, cross the ocean, fight pillagers, defeat enderman, befriend wolves and making them your loyal companions, traveling to the end and defeating the Enderdragon by taking down each one of the pillars. The glory days. The time where friendships and being together mattered. We are all grown known and get nostalgia from listening to the music that we also listened to while playing Minecraft. It was nice while it lasted. We will always keep those memories close to our heart(especially the ones that involve creeper explosions). Thank you Ezonator for bringing back these memories. (:
I've been playing Minecraft consistently since summer of 2019, watching gameplay since mid to late 2017, and the magic is not gone at all. Still the best game of the modern era (sorry Fortnite, GTA, and others) and even today it helped me. Listening to this helped me to soothe me today after I had a really bad anxiety attack and emotional breakdown, after the comfort of loved ones and professional help of course. But I'm still so glad this game and its soundtrack exists.
when i was young i always watch youtubers who played minecraft , one day i download this game . i dont know nothing , i died many times . but now i can understand minecraft teached us life trying again again and again , we need to survive in minecraft we need to survive in life İDK WHY AM İ CRYİNG
This reminds me of my days back in 2014, when I first got Minecraft on the PS4. This really calms me down when I feel stressed out and agitated. Thanks for making this.
This left me so sad from nostalgia that I ended up thinking about what the point of life is. It left me thinking about all of the good times I had as a child, and how they would be wrapping up soon since I’m 16. The fears of adulthood.
@Chr1stown ok will do thank you for saying. Ok, That's out of the way, now for the real thanks. Thank you. You being 15 and saying I should play with my mom and dad and my sister and brother, whilst I being 10, never knew. My sister went out to college recently, and my brother is a mean person, so I can only play with my parents... ...Thanks. like going into a time machine
You know, I've been wondering: How can a game be so nostalgic to me even with the fact that I've never played it long enough to create some conection? It's a weird, but cool sensation...
Personally as a child I would leave this music on because when I got in bed I would forget to turn my Xbox off and it happened so much that I couldn’t sleep without it for so long.
I'm playing Minecraft as I'm listening to this, and I'm thinking to myself, "Where would the game world be without Notch's game?" I wonder sometimes how Minecraft got so big and stayed with us for so long. The possibilities are endless. Every experience is different. This game could be the most relaxing bliss, or a great nightmare. Either way, everyone knows and remembers this game fondly. I remember sitting in my rainbow the dye beanbag for hours on end just exploring my world. I was always scared out of my wits if a mob found me. Even so, I trekked on, seeking new experiences in my little sandbox world. I fell down caverns, burned in lava, discovered the Nether, and found my first diamond all while sitting on that beanbag. I could never play with my friends since my parents never got me a network adapter for my Xbox 360, but I still had loads of fun going to school every day to share crafting recipes or figuring out all kinds of crazy new structures to build. Now as I look back to those days, I smile at my old notes that I have stashed away in a box. Minecraft's music has lived with me for so long. My music tastes have changed a lot over time, but I never stopped loving Minecraft's soundtrack. Something about the lonely piano or the peppy digital sounds always has me listening to it all time and time again, like right now. Haggstrom is my favorite track out of the bunch. Its cheery xylophone mixed with an ambient piano just hits a certain chord with me. I had watched a lot of Minecraft UA-cam videos when I was in middle school. I watched StampyLongHead, IBallisticSquid, SquidLovers, CaptainSparkles, TheDiamondMinecart, IHasCupquake, SkyDoesMinecraft, ExplodingTNT, and so many more. I remember watching the music videos people made over and over so much. My favorite album to this day is the Fallen Kingdom trilogy. To this day everyone is still listening to those songs, and it warms my heart that those songs never died. I wanted to make Minecraft videos of my own when I was younger, but I never managed to get my videos off of my mom's camera to upload them. That SD card is lost to time. Maybe someday I can make new Minecraft videos and upload them to fulfill my childhood dreams. Minecraft helped with my creativity, my drive to explore new far off places, and my understanding of what a truly fun videogame can be. Minecraft never told you what to do or forced you through an hour long tutorial. It threw you in and simply said, "Good luck." There may be a storywise end to it, but that's just the game's story. Your story continues on as you keep building and mining and slaying mobs and making new memories. Minecraft is a game that can go on forever. The game only stops when you decide that it's time to move on. Minecraft is something special that can never be replaced. Even after we're all dead and gone, Minecraft will still be here for new generations to enjoy. For now, let us continue to be the generation that gave this one of a kind adventure its start. We are the pioneers that set an infinite exploration forth. We are the original Minecrafters.
I like the original Minecrafters. I can see the day that we all show the next generation the magic of this game because that's the only way it can be described; magic. You make lets-plays, farms, crazy contraptions, heck even build entire civilizations, all in the same game, same world, same biome, same place. It has too many possibilities to count and with that too many experiences to count. Especially now it has been the rock of our sanity and after this crazy period of COVID and other disasters, Minecraft will always hold a special place in all of our hearts and lives. May this game live on forever, because it has shaped us, our personalities, our interests, and our childhoods. Respect to Minecraft and all it's done, thank you, Notch, thank you.
We are the original Minecrafters. I really like that. It makes us seem like one big part of a whole. We are the ones that played it, we had the pleasure of being alive in a time Minecraft was being created. My biggest flex is that I was alive when Minecraft was made. Every single experience ever played on a Minecraft world is different and unique. And stampy, aphmau, ibalistic squid, and even some of the newer ones like technoblade or dream were who i looked up to. I remember watching stampy and squid's building time series and having the time of my life watching. I was obsessed with StacyPlays's Mystic Mesa series and would watch it for hours and hours. I grew up watching Minecraft and playing Minecraft, and will forever be grateful for the memories it gave me. We really are the originally Minecrafters.
This playlist makes me desperately miss being a child. I know I'm still young, but there are things I yearn for that i used to have but don't now. One of which, are the memories I had with this game. The stress-free days where I would be so happy that I'd created something awesome using my imagination. Great playlist btw. :)
I agree.

And without you, I would've never met my ex-friend.

thats understandable it can make you feel upset yet calmed at the same time
it encapsulates the feeing of just. being alone, being free to do whatever you want, but it also captures the loneliness of the game, knowing that there's no one else like you around, unless you're in multiplayer. it's such a profoundly beautiful and deeply sad song. it reminds me of a sad smile
Yes

I can't wait for future generations to look back at such games that built our childhoods aswell
---------------------------------------------------------------
E- 9 months after, want to say a great thank you to his friend who helped me out that day. The talks we had were fun, and though you would be in your twenties now and no longer in contact with my brother. Just hope you're doing well mate, really made a great friend back then even, if it was for a single day
*And a nice reminder to everyone, if you still have the world somewhere. Go inside and check up on it, you should know what I'm taking about. Creative or survival, it's a good time to check on it, feed your pets, maybe clean up some chests. But overall 2020 is ending in 4 days and I'm just gonna wish luck for everyone in the new year :)*
@Sensus Charlottesville I'm glad someone could relate to me, and thanks for taking the time to read this long story😅
Happy late birthday! I love your story. Minecraft is such a good game :)
@@myax4500 oh thank you so much❤
Minecraft is always there for you.
You have a bad day at school, work, etc. It can be solved with minecraft.
Parents fighting? Minecraft
Hotel? Minecraft
Notch not only created a video game, but a whole generation of nice, respecting, humble people.
The parents fighting one hits home for me, I remember being 9-10 and one time they fought, while I was in the living room finishing a house I made in a village, I remember tearing up because it was so loud but I carried on playing, Minecraft carries so many different emotions in its gameplay and soundtrack alike
stop. this made me tear up.. I hope your doing better now! x stay strong :)
Dude you just made me drop some tears, even if it's almost impossible to make me cry emotionally, stay stronger than ever mate :D
rip she is waiting for you in the heaven
hotel? trivago
Remember those old days? When you first mined your first ore, you cut down your first tree, made your first house, and finally got diamonds. If you miss it just remember this, “don’t cry because it’s over, smile cause it happened”.
Once I was playing on my iPad and found diamonds for the first time and I flipped out and called my mom over, so excited 😓miss those days
Tamed your first dog finally got a cat after countless of hours searching and getting mad at it beating the ender Dragon knowing there's nothing more to this than fun
First time I got diamonds I accidentally fell into lava:/ way back in 2015 though so good memories
This is irrelevant but once school got out for the summer I said, "don't cry because it happened, smile because it's over." And I found it hilarious 🤣
Here's a good memory of mine:
My grandma had a computer and I always loved to be at her place just playing Minecraft and building my house with fountains and eventually making a town, yet I never finished it.
I’m waiting for this to get recommend to me again in 7 years when I really need it.
facts
I got this recommended right now. And I hope I get this recommended often 😁
I'll be 24 and being nostalgic about this 😭😭

To everyone who's studying with this music:
Checklist:
• A bottle of water, at least 1 liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate 💦
• Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time 🔋
• Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late night study session, you won't wake up anyone, 🎧
• a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well. ☕
• Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/ phone, a few pens, paper or whatever you need. 📖
Anything else you could need, what about a heat pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐕
Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around.
Remember to take care of yourself and try to get some sleep tonight 😴 🐻
(This comment isn't originally mine but I want to keep it for myself as well as help other people 🤗)
Also a side note from me: remember that life doesn't get easier you get stronger! You have endured everything life has thrown at you till now and will continue to do so! Keep pushing on and remember to take a break..🤗
Omg thank you for this 😄🙂

Im actually really sad because i look back at myself sitting in a chair not realizing that those moments were going to be the most beautiful one’s i will ever make. If I could go back I would do it again but slower this time. We often don’t realize that the moments we are living in are the moments we will be most nostalgic about and so we don’t stop and allow ourselves to be more present. Maybe its because we don’t really have any real sense of tracking time because everyday seems the same. Either way I hope we can all be more present to enjoy the beautiful moments that we can make right now.
@Puglavender666 I'm glad these words touched a soul. Be present and live on, these feelings are what make us real

wise words
And that's a lesson we should all use
Uh, nice sentiment but the point of the game is to get more resources and farm things, if you literally just want to survive you can build a tiny dirt container and stand still so your hunger doesn't run down but the fun comes from always getting more and improving things in your world
@@circuit10 I agree with this. Minecraft is infinite with its possibilities, so why not push your creativity to its limits?
We played, we tried
We laughed, we cried
We succeeded, we died
We respawned and thrived
From the zombies, to the endermen
From the skeletons, to the pigmen
From the spiders and creepers
And from those annoying griefers
From the biomes of jungles to sands
To the mushrooms and other obscure lands
From the snow and ice
To the swamps which never looked too nice
From moments with friends we’ll cherish
From a time we hoped Herobrine would perish
From the great animations
To the UA-cam sensations
Along with those musical incantations
I thank Mojang for creating my childhood
Much better than just ‘good’
I think I speak for everyone here
When I say this is not game of the year
It’s the game of the century
As it offered us with plenty
And these memories will never leave
Just like the thought of first playing as Steve
So I say close your eyes
And listen to the music with surprise
As your memories of Minecraft were once apart
But now can be fixed like a broken heart
In order to find your memories core
You must go back to the world of Minecraft once more
And defeat the Ender Dragon one last time
As the sweet sounds of your childhood begin to chime
One last thing, for me to say
Which would be, have a nice day
Also for you to never forget this game
Nor the journey that came
As a part of that journey was the end
Quite literally, not pretend
Just like this poem, which I hope you have all read
As I would love it if this poem and this game are remembered once I’m dead.
edit: thank you for the likes :0
You should add the song Math Cut (dief) to the poem
This made me tear up a little :)

It's best feeling of nostalgia I've ever had
IHaunt Muskielike
But everyone had his adventure, mine was playing on creative with my cousin when they were at my house, I remembered I created a house with a river of lava protecting it, then my cousin tried to do the same and her house was set on fire, we put water on every block, I remembered when my little cousin was watching me and my other cousin playing and she wanted a house so we built a house with every wool color, and obsidian, the "Carnival" house lol, I remembered when I built a house and then exploded it, so I made a sign and wrote "R.I.P house 123" and it became a meme of ours, those days were days I could never forget, times of no problems nor expectations, today I'm playing the 1.16 update and even after all these years, Minecraft still lives on my heart.
it lives in my heart too
i had the minecraft xbox edition, which had so much nostalgia to it. most worlds were on creative world and i remembered me and my brother building diamond houses, being creative with what we built and even adding stuff to the house. we even put 5 full stacks of armor in armor stands, had diamond swords and diamond pickaxes. honestly, im not really sure, but they probably didnt have enchantment books at the time.
I still have the oldest version for PS4 because either refuse to update it and its sooooo cool everything is easier

This gave me so much nostalgia! every time I listen to original Minecraft music, the ends of my mouth just about go to my ears. I miss the old days when they never added the new music. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the new music, I enjoy listening to it, but nothing will ever replace all the memories I've made throughout all my 7 years of playing this wonderful game.
before I go on, I'd like to tell everyone how I first started playing:
7 years ago (or when I WAS 7), it was my brother's 8th birthday, and he'd been wanting Minecraft for a few months now. my mom said he could buy it. and so, when we got home from Walmart, he turned on the tv, turned on the Xbox 360, and put the disc in.
this is back before multiplayer was added, or at least before we had a tv that would support it. he had NO idea how to play it, so he started with the tutorial.
he played for about an hour (we always called it our "time"), then he got off to go to the store with my dad.
I'm now working on other projects as well:
I write stories, and I want to become an author one day
I'm an excellent drawer, and I hope to use my talent for good things
I'm keeping in touch with my family and friends who I've known all my life, no matter how far away they are from me.
I'm also working on creating a made-up language called Avalinian, and I hope to finish it within next year or sooner.
have a great day everyone! :)
i read the whole thing and it made my day =) are you done with your language?? im interested...

listening to this after explaining to a friend why minecraft is so great and these comments say a lot about why.

Minecraft has always been one of my favorite games, from watching old videos on YT, to playing it on the Xbox 360 with my brothers with the free demo before we finally bought it and played it a lot, to the time I upgraded to the Xbox One version of the game, and now playing bedrock edition of the game on Xbox One
I'm 23, and I have a lot of memories when it comes to Minecraft, especially when it comes to me and my younger brothers, I remember when I was living with my dad in middle school, I felt lonely when I played Minecraft, my older brother didn't show interest in playing Minecraft with me, nor did some of the kids in the neighborhood I was friends with, even if I played games with them like Call Of Duty or even GTA 5, Minecraft was the one game I loved a lot, hell, a lot of people in middle school played the pocket edition of Minecraft, I did too, but I loved playing it on the Xbox One when I got it upgraded, I just felt kind of lonely because my dad didn't play with me, I only had my cousins to play with anytime they came over, I missed playing with my brothers.
All of us are all grown up, but listening to Minecraft music and playing it makes me wish we could all play together again and make more fun memories

it's weird. these songs are nostalgic, which amplifies what you feel listening to them, but they're also in general very well composed. the tracks give you a sense of awaiting adventure and infinite possibilities, but also the things you may miss out on if you only focus on main gameplay. it's like its telling you to calm down, smell the roses. take a look around and give yourself time to relax. it can be easy to forget to do that sometimes.

Thank you Notch :>
( Btw, this is the same comment that I put on the 75 minute minecraft video too. )

Giant statues, rollercoasters, houses made of nether brick with matching creeper carpets. One day I went home and finally bought Minecraft on my Xbox 360 and the first thing I did when I loaded into a creative world is go to the top of a mountain and start building a rollercoaster.

Lol is it just me or this is just literal lofi for gamer.
Bruh, this is the 3 hour version of the United Gamers Alliances' National Anthem
Although now that I wrote that, I'd point out there are a few songs in the minecraft soundtrack that C418 created using intentionally poor recording techniques, so it could certainly be argued that there are songs in minecraft that are quite literally lofi (I forget which ones)

I'm playing Minecraft as I'm listening to this, and I'm thinking to myself,
"Where would the game world be without Notch's game?"
I wonder sometimes how Minecraft got so big and stayed with us for so long.
Respect to Minecraft and all it's done, thank you, Notch, thank you.
well said, well said
We are the original Minecrafters.
