Great picks for travel! For a light multi-player game, I take Ohanami. It's a deck of cards and a small score pad. Perfect for playing on a plane. Seikatsu is great choice for outdoor poolside table play. It's a board and "Azul"-like tiles in a bag, so nothing will blow away. Another choice, if you want something heavier in strategy, is Bruxelles 1897. It is a solid mid-weight game in a really small box. And, Love Letter, because it can literally fit in a pocket.🌈

    • @FostertheMeeple
      @FostertheMeeple  3 роки тому +1

Thanks for this! We tried Love Letter recently on BGA and it wasn’t a “love” (see what I did there?) for her. Ohanami has been recommended a bunch so likely something we pick up and try at some point!

  • @markheim5932

Definitely agree with 7 Wonders Duel and Sushi Go. I've traveled with both of those multiple times. Some other good ones are point salad and any of the Tiny Epic Games (I personally only own Galaxies). Also a sneaky easy travel game is Dominion. Just select decks of cards beforehand and you can take it all in a gallon sized storage bag. Although I should point out that I got stopped at security once because it looked like an explosive device on their scanners.

Nice list. Could you do a similar list like "What to bring to a trip in a Camper" where you not only have to consider weight and storage size but also a possible smaller table size to play at. I would be very much interested in that, even though there might be a bit of an overlap.

    • @malvinafis6907

For us right now it would be definitely Fantasy Realms. Also card game and small. I haven't been to Disney World yet but enjoyed Disneyland Paris a lot. We are great fans of amusement parks. We usually bring more and bigger games to travel since we rarely fly.

Love the list! For me it would depend on the length of the trip and the likelihood we will actually play games.
With that said, I will make two quick lists for the two options.
List 1 (time to play games)
    Patchwork
Splendor (using components from other games as the chips)
    Castles of Burgundy
    Cartographers
Railroad Ink Challenge ( all games in Pandemic Legacy box)
    List 2 (gaming questionable)
    Cartographers
Castles of Burgundy: The Dice Game
Ganz Schon Clever (or any version, or all versions/laminated/and one set of dice)
    Second Chance
    Boomerang
    Trails of Tucana
    Wurfelland
    Mosaix/Tetrix
    Red7
Circle the Wagons (all games in one smallish box)
Also, half the games from List 2 would be in the box for List 1 as well.

  • @codym6376

Just got back from a trip with 6 people and 4 non gamers. We took the insert out of Trails of Tucana and added the components for For Sale (2 small decks and a few coins), No Thanks (cards and black bits) and a deck of cards. We had the chance to play each once and it work out well to fill in the down time.
I have also got Schotten Totten that would be good two person travel game.
My copy of 7 Wonders Duel, The Crew, and Deep Sea Adventure show up this week and they should travel well too.
Would love to go to Disney one day. Maybe in a couple years when my son is older.

I’m actually packing for a trip as I type this. Here are a few that I like to take. I pick a few from this list:
King Domino, Diamonds, Skull, Monikers, The Mind, Strike (just take some dice and grab a bowl when you’re there) Liars Dice (use the dice from the strike game and that’s a 2 in 1 game), The Crew, Dead Man’s Draw (check out the free app to see how it plays but card game is great too.) Beyond Baker Street (I have some curved wooden card holders that I stick in my bag. It works great for this game) I sometimes grab a escape room in a box or a deckscape game. Some of those are great because you won’t even have to bring home because they are a one and done. Thanks for the other ideas! Love the channel!

I got the Travel Zombicide from the Zombicide 2nd Edition campaign. It's a small version of Zombicide in its own self contained plastic folding board. Would sit on an airplane tray table and gives a complete Zombicide experience. It's very cool

Epcot- Spaceship Earth is close but Living with the Land (sorry nerdy!) is my pick. Animal Kingdom is the Dinosaur extinction ride and Disney Studios is probably the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. On the #2 Pick, I'd almost always suggest the Sushi Go Party! edition. The different cards at 2p really tune the game to be enjoyable at 2 all the way to 7. And the box isn't much larger.
Also, I'd say Skull is really good, but that's a game for more than 3. If going with two couples, Skull is certainly on the list.
Star Realms is a deck box, so that's a fabulous pick too. A full deckbuilder in only a 100-card Boulder?! Done.

I love the list! Even if people don't travel with these games they are good starter for collecting games, but what is a "big" box game that you guys wouldn't mind traveling with cause its that good?? For me I would be willing to do a road trip with quacks and deal with the size cause its just so perfect for that.

    I appreciate the darkness 😄
The games that I have brought traveling:
    Onitama
    Pax Transhumanity
    Targi
    Hanimakoji
    Railroad Ink
    Sushi Go! Party
    Race for the Galaxy
They're all really small (Pax Transhumanity is the heaviest smallest box I have seen other than BIOS: Genesis, which I have not brought traveling, but definitely would. They're both something like 13cm x 13cm x 6cm)

My games I would take with me to travel would be: RailRoad Ink, Love Letter, Abyss: Conspiracy, Sprawlopolis.

I'd add Codenames, Cartographers, Organ Attack (definitely check this out - everyone I play this with loves it), and maybe Star Realms.
I've never had the desire to go to Disney until a friend read Be Our Guest and I learned about the vast attention to detail they have for immersion. Now I just want to see all of that.

Honestly? Before I went to WDW I wasn’t overly excited. Then I arrived, and saw just what you state - the immersion, and attention to detail in every single facet of that park. And it was immediately a place I fell in love with. I hope you get to experience it some day, I think you’d feel the same as I did.

Hive Pocket is made to travel, and is a great 2-player game to play on your hotel balcony without the pieces blowing into the pool.
