This is a great review thank you!
The SM57 is great for electric, dynamic and loud instruments
The SM58 has a great natural vocal quality and is amazing for acoustic instruments and can really capture their brightness! Clear standard in vocal recordings
The Super 55 is raw vintage power. Beautiful for old blues and all kinds of vintage style! Think 50's and 60s..or think 55 ;)
The SM7-B is modern all the way. Use for mixes and podcasts when you want a professional advanced technological sound!

I’m just asking from what I thought I saw in the video. Were the 7B and Super 55 plugged in when you were miking the amp? I’m not seeing a cable. I really didn’t notice much if any differences and wondered if I was just hearing the amp instead of the mics.

Hey Joe, thank you for the comment! That's funny, I didn't even notice I forgot to plug them in for the shot! Not to worry though, the cut scenes were just for cinematic effect. I only have one camera so I can't film myself playing and the amp at the same time. The SM7B and Super 55 do sound similar when the mid-boost is engaged on the back of the SM7B by the Super 55 is overall more bright. I appreciate the comment and I'll do my best to make my content less ambiguous in the future!

@@0132204 oh I wasn’t criticizing it by any means. Just wasn’t sure if I was hearing the mic or the amp. I have been wanting to try a 55 for my vocals. I saw a couple at a concert with the led light conversion and thought they sounded nice. I currently use a 58 on vocals and a 57 on my amp. Can’t afford 2 so would probably continue to use the 57. Thank you for taking the time to make the video and reply.

I'll have to check out the led conversion, I've never heard of that but it sounds pretty cool! You take it easy Joe!

It's funny because I came here to check out the Super 55 to have as an additional vocal microphone beside my SM7B. This video makes me want to just buy more SM7Bs instead. I took for granted just how versatile and full this microphone really is because it's been strapped to my face for ten years.

I have super 55, but I think my mic loss so many gain compare to sm58, but in your video I heard the gain is not too far when it compare to other mic compare. Is there something wrong with my super 55?

The SM7B seemed slightly best. More clear and defined.

such a great vid. Actually I was wondering how the 57 would stand against the super55 in acoustic guitar recordings because i have a TATAY spanish acoustic guitar with nylon cords. Thanks to your video now I have a better idea of what path should i take. Im very grateful with you for sharing and take the time producing this content.
I think that the unynide 3 capsule on 57,58 and 7b has a more natural capture both instrumental and voice wise usage. Maybe de super55 has a warmer tone than the others but in my opinion it just doesn't works for guitars as well for voice . Based on your reviews I would choose the super55 for vocals rather than instrumental. But for now im stick with the sm7b because it has solid and proven results. The 57 and 58 are great too but they are more prone to the Ps.
    Again thanks for sharing.
    God bless you
PD: thanks to your video, Finally I discover how to correctly use the velcro strap too... ha ha ha

Thank you so much for the great comment! Everything you said is spot on with how I feel. The only time I use the Super 55 is when I need something to have a little more presence and to cut through a mix. When I mic an acoustic guitar for real I will use a 57 at the 12th fret and an SM7B on the bridge, equidistant. The content is no problem, I will keep putting out about five videos per week. Thanks again!
