- Overnight, Russia launched its long-awaited attack on Ukraine, striking military posts across the country in the biggest attack in Europe since WWII. The assault began with an angry message from Russian President Vladimir Putin broadcast in the middle of the night in which he said, "Russia cannot feel safe, developed and exist with a constant threat emanating from the territory of modern Ukraine." NBC’s Richard Engel reports for TODAY from Ukraine.

If Patton was allowed to go into Russia after WW2 we wouldn't have been able to use a cold war to keep the defense industry fat and happy or slowly infringe on the freedoms of western nations around the world... it was a necessary sacrifice for our ruling class.

Only thing I can think and say is that we should’ve listened to Patton during WWII when he warned us about the threat the Russian government posed to our future. He was right, we should’ve ended that possible threat when we could’ve.

I agree with you. Problem is our forces were spread pretty thin and we still had Japan to deal with. There were those who said we should have though. So no Soviet block states. We should have pushed Russia back to its borders then.

But that being said; Just because The US doesn't have any RIGHTS to say it, It doesn't mean mean that they're not RIGHT (correct).
