Description: "I Vow to Thee, My Country" is a British patriotic hymn, created in 1921, when music by Gustav Holst had a poem by Sir Cecil Spring Rice set to it. The music originated as a wordless melody, which Holst later named "Thaxted", taken from the "Jupiter" movement of Holst's 1917 suite The Planets.
In 1921, Gustav Holst adapted the music from a section of Jupiter from his suite The Planets to create a setting for the poem. The music was extended slightly to fit the final two lines of the first verse. At the request of the publisher Curwen, Holst made a version as a unison song with orchestra (Curwen also published Sir Hubert Parry's unison song with orchestra, "Jerusalem"). This was probably first performed in 1921 and became a common element at Armistice memorial ceremonies, especially after it was published as a hymn in 1926.

Love of the Empire from Royalists in South Africa!
Fellow South African here!
Damn I love the flags in the last half
Thanks :)
Canada and the rest of the Commonwealth need to bring back patriotism. We have so much to be proud of yet we are forced to leave our glories in the past.
I'm afraid most of not all of the exploited colonies want anything to do with that. Speak for yourself.
FOR KING AND COUNTRY!
I'm an Aussie Veteran and have had the previlige of visiting the Dambusters Memorial.

God bless the Islands and Commonwealth!
God save the King and bless You all!
Lest we forget the hellish struggles and valiant triumphs of the forces of the Commonwealth of all races and creeds. Lest we forget the British and Irish dead in the fields of Flanders. Lest we forget the struggles of Native Canadian and Aboriginal Australian troops, both in peacetime and in combat. Lest we forget the the bodies of the Desi peoples and the Māori floating in the tides of Gallipoli. Lest we forget the unlucky people in the sinking wreckage of the HMHS _Britannic_ and the HMT _Carpathia._ Lest we forget anything and anyone. Lest we forget.
Bit confused about the "in peace time", Natives in Canada and Australia were treated very well if that's what it's referring to.
Happy Remembrance Day and Veterans Day to all men and women who fought for freedom, peace, and justice around the world from the Great War to the Afghan War!
Happy Remembrance Day!
This needs to be the UK national anthem
Happy Victoria Day from Canada 🇨🇦🇬🇧👸🏻👑

It should be England's Anthem.
Not Britain's. Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland have their own Anthems and couldn't give a dam anyway.
Hands off!! Our Anthem.
