I was there Saturday and was planning on coming back Sunday but Saturday scarred me... It was my first February show. I had every intention of coming home with something but my anxiety got the best of me! I waited in line for an hour just to see people walk in the door and cut in front of everyone. I am going to give October a chance and hope everyone plays fair or it's more organized!
I totally understand and sorry it wasnt the best experience… but yes i would say try again in October it has its moments of being suuper busy for sure but VIP may be a better move to try!
If it's not too out of the way for you, if this year's Schaumburg show is like last year's, it'll be less crowded and have wider aisles than the Tinley show. Not as many vendors/animals, of course.
@@NJPExotics It was just unfortunate, my anxiety took over it was just best to call it quits! I was going to come back Sunday but my son and I ended up just shopping and seeing some windy city sites! So bet, I'll be back in November to try again ♥
@@thebenior Thank you, maybe a slightly smaller show would be better for me. I usually have some control, this was actually the worst episode so now I'm anxious about that!
@@Mimomof4616 The Scott Smith All-Animal Expo at the Kane County fairgrounds is another [even] smaller show, but it's more frequent. It used to be bigger when it was at the Dupage County fairgrounds in Wheaton, but doesn't seem like it's picked up the same steam since. You don't see the same variety and high end morphs that you would at an NARBC show, but it occurs more often and is less of a hassle.
I can’t pick a favorite lol there was way too many favorites! I do always love seeing caiman lizards though. I do know that I spent way too much this show haha. Came home with 5 new reptiles!
@@NJPExotics 2 pink tongue skinks from Scott millers Sandboas, a crested gecko from Candies Cresteds, a leachie from Aritonnic and a leachie from Sundown Reptiles!
Agreed!! It makes me so happy hearing everyone’s stories and all the love expressed towards him! Great friend of over 10 years to me he’s for sure one of the good ones no doubt!
My only critique would be I wish you would have faded out the music sooner in Lori’s speech, but MAN I’m so grateful for you filming that. She was the biggest reason I wanted to go this year. 😢
Im so sorry you couldn’t make it!!! Yes it was very touching and honestly YES its such a bummer that i didnt catch that i realized it too late… but there was actually issues with the speech footage that took my computer for some reason HOURS to process and fix…. So by the time i wrapped the edit up i was exhausted and forgot to cut the music🥲 but yes i agree and do apologize! Im glad it still can be heard… but definitely an annoyance for sure!!!
There will be a part 2 to this expo next week maybe i will rethrow in that speech because of how much hassle it put me through to give it better justice!
Sorry we didn't get to chat much over the weekend. I'm glad you had a great time. This is my 5th Tinley in a row, so my 3rd March in a row, and this year's March Tinley seemed a little underwhelming. There were a few cool things we saw, and most of those we went home with. Other than that, there was a lot of your typical balls and geckos. And drama. 😅 What a crazy weekend for drama. Creeper dudes harassing women at the auction and the after party. Vendors narking on other vendors that somehow forgot IL rules on certain sales of certain species. DNR running through the place at the end of the day Sunday, and a vendor getting lippy with 1 of the officers. 😅 The weekend was wild.
Boy… how did i miss all of that👀😬 yes i was bummed we couldnt chat more! Mainly thats due to me not being there much on Friday to chat with people more and it being a bit calmer to go around a bit more.. but woah i didnt really hear any of these problems occur tbh!! Thats wild crazy and sad! Gotta do better for ANY upcoming shows!
@@NJPExotics Right. Well we'll see. But there will probably be 2 more tables available. The guy who gave the DNR officer lip was on thin ice anyway because he couldn't afford to pay for his tables at first. He snuck in and got set up and then towards the end of the day Friday, after he sold a few animals he went and registered for the show. 🤦♀️ Like, how do you go to a big show like that and not be able to pay for your table? And the guy that narked on another vendor ended up in the hot seat and is probably why DNR showed up in the first place. So doubt Bob and Brian will want him back. Will definitely be interesting to see in October. But yeah. Never a dull moment in the reptile world.
I have not seen a single youtube video that actually shows what it's really like. That had to be the biggest most unorganized sh!t show I've ever seen in my life. Tickets online get you nothing...you still have to wait in an extremely long @ss line to get in. That's after the hour it takes circling the lot with the other 300 cars to find a spot. Then you get inside and it's a stand still....kind of like being at a Matillica concert in their prime. It's Chicago so having people touching me from front to back and side to side made me stuff my wallet in a different spot so it didn't get swiped out of my pocket. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get to this and after getting inside.....left after about 30 mins. Will never go back. Especially since the show was about 97% ball pythons anyway. Literally, if this event is gonna bring that kind of crowd....you need to find a different venue. Horrible experience!
So sorry you didn’t have a great experience.. there is constant push for the suggestion of VIP along with a map of vendors on Morph Market to help navigate and not leave you bummed with the amount of ball python vendors there if you were looking for other things in specific.. Very sorry your experience was not meeting expectations! There is talk to “shake up” some spots to add even more variety of species starting in October so do hope you give it another shot with these tips! Otherwise there are other great shows as well depending on where you come from if you check out their website they have dates available and crowds at those venues are more relaxed
@@realshit6061 they will be changing this come October. I myself hope to see less BP and Crestie tables at all Expos really. Personally I had a lot of fun at Tinley last weekend and got myself a captive bred red eye crocodile skink from Josh's frogs!
Spent all 3 days at Tinley. Had a great time. Looking forward to Shaumburg in July and Tinley in October. Plenty of tables without Ball Pythons. You have to spend more than 30 minutes in the place to realize this.
What a cool fun video!
What was that BP morph combo at 2:56?!?! 😳
Beautiful right?! I am going to guess it’s Kinova’s Leopard Spotnose Blk Axanthic DG
I'll be there for the October show.
Nice work Nick. Great seeing you again!
Thanks Garrick!! As always Great chatting with you as well!!
