Matt not understanding what McGuffins are is 100% my favorite running gag on this show. I sincerely hope he figures it out someday but watching the attempts are entertaining for sure.
Going into this month I told myself "if they don't do Rock & Rule, I'll have to send them the extremely rare DVD," so this just saved me $100. Despite the movie's many many faults I so wish they could still make movies like this. Weird visually inventive animated movies that often work in music from notable artists. But both movies and music are too corporate for it.
My dudes. Dogs is probably one of his best movies and a whole mess darker than he's ever been. And it being animated kinda puts a calming swerve on the usual Wes Anderson production tics.
I believe (you can let me know if this observation helps) that he vaguely understands both red herrings and macguffins but can't sus out the subtle difference between the two. It really is subtle, but, after googling it, I think I am clear on it myself. I wonder if just googling the question of the difference would clear it up for him. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Guys, about the Isle of Dogs: you should watch it, because it's the movie that Wes Anderson is making fun of himself. I love when artist do that. Can't say it's my favorite movie of his, but I still had fun laughing with him.
hey, guys. Not sure if you're taking any suggestions for Sci-fi July, but I wanted to recommend Upgrade. A slightly futuristic movie with traces of Robocop in its DNA, with an added touch of the first Death Wish. Surprisingly, it was directed by the screenwriter of the Saw films and the somewhat recently made The Invisible Man. I'd say its worth the watch, with good cinematography and pacing.
The ring in Lord of the Rings. The cube in Avengers. The Maltese Falcon in Maltese Falcon. Things the characters need to get but that the movie isn't technically about.
