Dear Matt, thank you so much for this comprehensive tutorial. And while it's comprehensive it's easy to watch it down, the way you explain things. It makes it fun to go into detail. I've had amplitube for a few months now and I was entirely lost, save for trying out different sounds. With your tutorial I have now, for the very first time understood how this BEAST works. Thank you!!!

Matt awesome demo and review, just like your how to make a song in GarageBand video. Question, how do you get this to show up in GarageBand? So that it uses the amp you make versus one of the defaults in GarageBand? A video on how to get from GarageBand to AmpliTube would be appreciated, maybe you’ve already got one and I’m just missing it. thanks.

After installing the Amplitube software I simply went into GB and clicked my guitar track, then the Plugins dropdown menu in the controls window, and there was a brand new selection for the amplitube content already showing up.

I am new to Amplitube and really wanted the Fender Collection 2 amp models... So I grabbed the AT4 + FC2 package for 114,99 $, but now I realize that the standard version of AT4 only comes with a few amps/cabs and hardly any stomps... So what I really wanted to buy is Amplitube 4 DELUXE along with the Fender Collection 2 package. Any ideas on what I can do? Suck it up and grab Amplitube 4 MAX for 149,99 $ more? :( Thanks.

Which Amplitube4 product is this, that has all the gear? I bought the plain Amplitube4($150) and was so disappointed when I went to use presets, as 99% of them I couldn't use unless I bought more gear in the Custom Shop. Same with the amps and cabs. My version is extremely limited. What a let down for me. It seems like your edition has everything except the Leslie you touched on I think. Thank you.

anyways, there's tons of computing bits available to handle almost infinite headroom inside the computer, all that matters is what comes out of the final mix bus. So don't worry about that stuff. Secondly, which may be of interest, when using analog gear (tape & mixer etc) you don't really use the meters, you monitor OFF TAPE and always listen to what's coming off the play head. That way you can drive the signal as hard as you like & HEAR any distortion to taste while getting absolute MAX S/N Ratio

Not that i know of, but you could simply run the Amplitube into the LePou Cabinet plugin and use any cab convolutions you like with the raw amplitube amp

Impressive - though as other commentators have said, I've been using GuitarRig for years (always done the job). Suppose there's a debate to had about the relevance or not of guitars in general. Just seems a bit limiting compared to what you can do with tech like Maschine. Bands like NIN have a good balance of being a trad rock band but also embracing digital too. That said the most current interesting work seems to be by film composers. Great tutorial though

Boy that is hard. I like both. I've had Guitar Rig for much longer so I have used it more but the upgrade to Amplitube 4 is very impressive. So many options it is scary. I am trying to incorporate it more in my stuff. I would probably lean towards Amplitube (I like lots of options - it doesn't restrict me - but it makes me poor) but I doubt you'd go wrong with either.

there isn't any decent Guitar Rig videos i could find that go into explaining the cabinet set-ups, it seems less comprehensive than amplitube, but i could be wrong.

can anybody tell me how to use different setups for different parts of the song through the daw? it was explained in this video but it was so short i didn't get it. I'm used to using a digital effects processor where i just have to step on the setup i want. is there anything like this?
for example, if i want clean + delay on the verse but i want drive on the chorus, how do i achieve that? That is the only reason i watched the whole video :(

This is not your intro package he's putting up there. This is quite a bit of the extras that cost. I paid $149.99 and it doesn't come with most of this so the sounds you get at that level are not even close to this good sounding. I also tried getting the most out of what I did get but it sounds bland compared to this. Hard to believe it's just amplitube by itself. I wouldn't normally post a negative but since I feel I lost my money I have to say this is not all that great unless you spend a lot more money.

I have Amplitube 4 and it’s ok, but…..the only problem I have with it is that you have to pay for EVERY LITTLE THING. It’s basically a bare bones guitar sim and, if you want the “good stuff,” you better take out a second mortgage.
EDITED: I know I was wrong, see below.

    • @dancetech
      @dancetech  2 роки тому +1

Well it's Amplitube 5 only now, 4 discontinued, but I think that's possibly a bit harsh. The Free Custom Shop version gives you a cooking marshall and a few other bits & TBH I did some sessions for a punk band the other day, and it was 100% all i needed a good old scratchy, slightly grindey Marshall with a bit of OD at the input. I didnt even bother going through ALL the entire amps I have in the MAX version. Next up is the SE version at 149 Euros which gives 80 bits of gear. That's cheap. But yes the full blowns MAX version I own is 600 euros, but then who really needs all the rotating Leslie cabs etc? Trust me, when clients come to record & they choose the amps/cab rig they only ever use about 10% of what's included in MAX. They go straight for a certain amp or bass rig they know & rarely does the other kit get used. 👍

@@dancetech Yeah, you’re right. I did some research and figured out what happened. I actually bought the Mesa Boogie pack a few years ago. I was under the impression that I was getting, “Amplitube 4 with Mesa Boogie,” which I was, but it was, “Amplitube FREE with Mesa Boogie.” To be honest, they don’t make that very clear. I get it now, though.

@@jimmy5196 yeah, in real life i have Marshall JCM2000 with a Framus poplar ply 4x12 cabinet (harder wood than birch ply, resonates differently, a more tight sound) & an old Marshall Master Lead Combo (2 x 12 transistor amp) which tbh is my GO-TO amp, it kicks ass like nothing else cos at gigs you just cram it all up to 10 and it really hums but it's not too loud.. With that Marshall Master Lead Combo the best guitar sound I get is with my old strat which has had all the 3 pickups ripped out and it has only a manky old vintage Gibson PAF humbucker at the bridge & only a volume control, kind of Original van halen style almost. The combination of the two is so midrange, you can pull out midrange harmonics so easy with a distortion pedal added or for punk/garage rhythm work it has a great mid grunk cos the strat body is so resonant with all the pickups removed. In the rehearsal studio i usually use (Westbourne studios in London) the choice in each room is usually a couple of different 50w Marshall combos (UsUALLY ONE WITH A MORE HI-GAIN CHANNEL & ONE MORE TRADITIONAL), then they also have an orange combo in each room with a hi-gain channel which is ok & a roland jazz chorus if you want more clean old sound. Bass rigs are usually Peavey & Fender. You just work with what you've got really tbh.
So much of it is the actual guitar or bass though tbh. Next thing i want is one of these: harleybenton.com/product/beatbass-vs/
amp sims are all ok for recording etc but in real life you have to choose an amp and that's your amp.
