Very well illustrated and narrated. The best review on it so far. Am pretty sure I will be buying one in the future. I want to get away from my Mackie 1620i Firewire desk and get into the world of USB recording. Even though this ProFx mixer has only two tracks to send to my DAW simultaneously and separately for recording.
Hey, this is the best ever video demonstration I have yet seen. You went through explaining in detail what I wanted to know. The model I am buying is the V3 12 channel I believe and most times they don’t really hook things up to show you. I am pleased I saw your demo. Thank you. Oliver
Great all around job for the basics and intermediate settings for this unit. Well done. Cleared up many of questions I had on this mixer. Please show some more advanced set ups if you have the time. Thank you from everyone from The Kent Farm Club!
I'm trying to record 2 tracks in GarageBand in my Ipad. An USB cable is set up between the Ipad and the USB port on the mixer. I chose Track 1 for the guitar and Track 2 for the microphone. Unfortunately, it records only one track at a time. I might be missing a stupid detail.
Do you think the reverb effects are better with the ProFX than the Mix Fx boards or are they about the same? (Debating between a mackie mix fx12 you reviewed and a smaller ProFX4 because I really just need for solo but thought why not get more channels at a nice $129 price point). Thanks!
To me the effects are about the same. Best advice I can give you is to look close at each board. The ProFX4v2 has the 5 band graphic eq and monitor send, but only has a low and high eq on each channel. Ya have a point about the Mix FX 12 having more channels. That would give you room if you ever wanted to do a duo or expand a bit from a solo.
I have use Auducity with this mixer and it does a good job for less money than most. I will say that as long as you know the basics of the Auducity program you can get some good results from this mixer. Set your gain stages and let it fly.

Glad to help.
Nice! Takes a beating and keeps on rocking!
Blue tape is the best.
You really know how to dial that system in.
Yeah Mike, they make 'em sturdy. One of the outputs is a little glitchy after all these years, but it's a pretty good sounding board.
This was a great demo/review I definitely know what to buy now!
Thanks!

This is a great video mate so thank you but why not EQ the guitar in the demo ? Would have been the best video on here.

stevekonbass appreciation the reply Steve! Keep on rocking my friend.
I hear some shhh sound on my recording. What could be the reason sir?
Could be that you have the gain too high somewhere or maybe the hi on the EQ is too high.
@stevekonbass ok thanks
Take a step or two.
Does this have an Audio Interface were you can plug it in to a pc and record ?
It has a USB port so you can put the 2 track mix in your computer.
What a software i have to used for recording with this mixer?? Cubase, audacity, reaper, or what??
I only used it for live performances with my band, but I believe it comes with Tracktion recording software.
