Just wanted to give you 2 tips. I’m a mom of 4 ages 26,22,20,&15 and homeschooled for years. Put those markers and scissors up high and anchor the shelf to the wall. You won’t regret it! You’re going to have a great year!
We do lots of crafts and i still have a habit to put markers, scissors and glue in a hidden locked place lol
Lol we Montessori homeschool, and I do that completely opposite, except for the shelf that is. Anchor everything!
Always store markers cap down! They dry out fast if you store them cap up! 😊

YES!! drives me crazy watching these organization videos and they all have them cap up. Hahaa thought it was just me paying attention to that.
Samantha Mills maybe color a piece of paper with the marker and wrap around the bottom and then tape over it.
@@samanthamills8899 Crayola Super Tips have the colors on the bottom as well so that's helpful! Idk why they don't do it on their bigger markers. 🤷🏼♀️

To all the Moms and more homeschooling, I take my hat off to you! No matter how you set it up , be it using items you already have or go all out like Britt did. It's an investment for your children so how ever you do it is okay. They will appreciate it either way. All this should do is have us all realize how important our Teachers are and how they help our little ones face the world. Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles, Sisters, Brothers and grandparents taking on this new role is quite something to see. We can do this with each others encouragement not judgement. Mine is going back 2 days a week, 3 days a week is virtual learning. I don’t have space like you do so most of my sons schooling will be done at the dining room table. It’s going to be a challenge with my toddler bothering him but we will do our best. We start on the 8th.
I homeschool a preschool/kindergartener and have a 1 year old, so I feel you with this. I have actually learned for us, its best to just donit at the the table. The school room put too much stress on my kid, and she does so much better just doing a subject at a time at the table amd then taking play breaks in between. I just buckle my toddler into a booster with crayons and her on notebook/coloring book and she has a blast doing "school" too. (: we have a basket/bin with all her books amd workbooks, and a box with all her pencils etc.
I love the gum idea in their drawer! Super cute, and it honestly helps so much. Great job, mama.
We noticed keeping our girls in seperate rooms helps soooooo much. Otherwise they distract each other and when they need to read aloud and stuff you can hear the background noise. My 3rd grader works at a desk in her room and my younger daughter in 1st grade is in our office with me nearby.
I just moved to North Carolina and me and my husband bought a Big house and we have three kids together one on the way and I did a homeschool room and I got a lot of my stuff from you and ideas thank you for being a good inspiration
We don't have a homeschool room or desks. The kitchen table works great. We do read aloud on the couch. We also do real homeschooling.
I totally agree about introducing another language while they're young; I've been re-learning French for the past two years and decided that my sons should start doing it, too, since we're learning from home. They put up a little fight in the beginning because they thought it would be difficult, but it's been going really smoothly! They practice on the app for a few minutes twice a day, et voilà! Love that you're incorporating it, too!
@Nyesha Harris That's SO AWESOME!! I love that! French is just as easy as Spanish! I think your daughter would totally be able to do it. I don't use Babbel, I use Duolingo, so I can only attest to its usage, but I think any program would be excellent. Babbel is highly rated, but I'm unsure if it has a free version. Duolingo is free, but also has a paid version. You might download both apps and see which she prefers. I absolutely think she could learn French!

Looks great :) The craft organizer looks better down below, and out of sight hopefully out of mind (or hands) of lil ones. Keeping things simple on the open shelves helps them look cleaner etc too! Great job.

You have an awesome set up! As a teacher I do suggest getting base 10 blocks, they'll all be able to use them. There a must for teaching math great way to make connections. Have an awesome school year!!!!!
Such a cute set up! And I love Nolan’s desk!! We live in AZ and my kids started school virtually on August 3rd. We actually usually start in July because we are on a year round schedule, but it was pushed back with Covid. We start in person Sept 8th and my kiddos are so excited to go back! Most schools here have gone back and it’s going well! They have done really well with virtual, but really miss their friends, so I’m happy they will be able to socialize again!
We started August 13th . Just wrapped up our 3rd week. I have a second grader and senior and so far they’re adjusting. Not our ideal situation but we’re making it work. I got lucky enough to find a desk for my 2nd grader on amazon and made her area in a little classroom. My oldest pretty much got all of her stuff together.

I love this set up. My son is about a month older than Harlow, and he goes to private preschool where I work, but if I was homeschooling this would definitely give me some inspiration on how to set it up. 😊❤
One recommendation buy some math manipulatives and magnetic letters as well it's really difficult to understand early math without a hands on approach ❤

Can’t tell if you have any but triangular pencils will be really good for Harlow and probably Nolan as well. Nolan May also benefit from just the bigger round ones. I use both the triangular ones and the fat round ones with my 3 year old and two kinder students

Love the setup. I have a 3rd grader and a kindergartner. They have been doing online for 2 weeks already (today is school day 16) and it’s been a bit challenging and I’m sad for my kindergarten kid but it’s not that bad overall. I’m in California so it might be a long while before they go back to the classroom. I’m not thinking I’m sending them though if they do.
My son starts Kindergarten next week the 8th. This momma isn't ready, but I know he is. It's so bittersweet, but I know he'll enjoy it.

Huge respect to all those parents homeschooling their children this year. It would have been nearly impossible for me when my guys were little. My older son is autistic and if his special ed classes weren’t available I could not have duplicated them at home and his routine would have been off which is another problem altogether!! My younger son would have had such a tough time concentrating and working at home. Mad respect. I’d like to know what parents are doing now if their child is in special ed. How are you doing it!!!!!?????
It was not easy from March through end of June. I also continued working with my son throughout the summer too. I 'tried' to minimize the 'summer slide', as best I could but....IDK how much I helped. But, I tried! I'm torn between yay back to school and boo hes not home. UGH>
I think special need children and learning disabilities, traumatized students should be able go school
My son starts 3rd grade next Tuesday. We decided to send him to school. We just don’t have the room, a good computer, or a space he could go without his little sister bothering him 😭 I’m so nervous

Have you ever had problems with Aria or Nolan having markers and crayons in their bedroom? How did you teach them to not color on walls/surfaces? We’re going through that stage now and I wish I could have that sort of stuff in my kids’ bedrooms! It all looks so good and organized! ❤️

Why not setting up a school room upstairs, in the area were the play room was before? So toys and school are separated and they won’t feel tempted to play while learning?
I’m not able to watch yet so sorry if you already answered this, but why did you choose to put the homeschool area in the play room? I think upstairs loft area would be better suited. The play room is for well, playing haha, and it might be hard for the kids to focus with their siblings playing in close proximity.

Britt, can I make a suggestion, teach the Children how to use a Dictionary (you can buy a "Children's Dictionary) and also Rulers for showing the Children how to measure, just a suggestion. Great Desks and setup for learning from home. Well done.

Nolan is enrolled in the public school virtual learning right? I am a teacher but I’m doing a pod this semester/maybe all year, and I have two kindergartens so I’m interested in what supplemental materials you are using with Nolan if he is also enrolled in public school, as that is the case with my kinders. I also have a 3 year old so I would love to see a hail of workbooks, educational games, projects, whatever you are doing with Harlow. I need ideas! Haha I’m used to using curriculum assigned by the school I work for. This is my first time not working in a public school.

I think the only reason home schooling is working for you guys is because frank is home. If he was working and with you having a new baby no way you would have coped. I had a really hard time taking care of my youngest and helping my older kids who were in school.
Frank being home is a huge help with being able to homeschool the kids!! It would be very difficult to manage without.
And Frank is so helpful! He’s an amazing dad
I homeschool and have a 5 month old. I taught all of my middle school/high school classes, did virtual learning with my son and took care of a newborn while my husband worked 16 hour days in April and May. Didn't get maternity leave because of Covid. Literally sent out parent emails from the hospital bed two hours after giving birth.
While many things are hard - you make do with the situation and figure it out. Britney has managed many things and I'm sure she would have figured this out too if he wasn't there.
Elizabeth Hestand It didn’t work for us my oldest is in middle school did not one ounce of work and I couldn’t watch it. My eight year old whined the whole time and couldn’t do anything alone. And I have a toddler like home schooling/distant learning also works better on certain kids. My children have learning disabilities they need more help then what I can do. Here where we live they can go back full time so they are. My oldest can’t slack this year she starts high school next year. I’m happy it worked for you, but frank being home is a blessing for her family.
I don’t agree. I’m a mom of four, one hf autistic, and my husband is gone from sun uk to sun down. And we get it done. Homeschooling really only takes about two hours a day for core and then units only take a little bit too. Don’t say that people aren’t capable.
