The art of sacrificing in a whole new level. The macabre beauty of science; no offense.

"The macabre beauty of science" Sums it up quite perfectly.

I don't think it counts as "whole new level". Animal use for research have been around for quite long time.

That’s cruelty to animals. We are smart enough to do this without hitting animals.

Let us not forget the terrible thing "in the name of science" human have perpetrated on all life. How many lives have been lost because of science. Science is not the holy grail it makes itself out to be. This guy is no different than the others scientist that have, in their own mind, though they have a great idea. I can do this, I will do this, I can change the world, I'm really smart, I'm really cool. Let me brag, brag, and brag some more, in the name of science. This is who they are. Even the sound of their voice exudes arrogance.

No arrogance reached my ears. Science is merely a method of observation. He speaks with the excitement and awe of someone sharing a new technique that provides much greater detail than 2D drawings. "Look at at we (humans) can do now! Isn't it amazing?" How you heard "Aren't I amazing?" baffles me. I was thrilled right along with him, imagining a day when this can be a live scan to save people.

Science did hurt a lot people and animals in the past and also today to some extent, but in all cases I know, you didn't need to be super pessimist to know that it's gonna do bad (doing shit to monkeys and other animals, dynamite, atom bomb...). As opposed to those examples, I can't think of a way this is gonna worsen peoples life even in the hands of the most evil humans.
