Those of us who are really here for you as a person and not an entertainer, will gladly make room for your sorrow. I personally didn't think you said or did anything wrong in the last vlog. You were just a human and you're allowed to be. I'm a psychologist and people assume my life is always together. FALSE! We go through things like everyone else and deserve spaces to be vulnerable and safe the same way we provide that for others. God is still good. Be blessed Jess!

A trick to killing flies is just using plain water in a spray bottle. It wets their wings and they fall to the ground/floor and then you can use the fly swatter. Y’all all over the house was sending me! 😂😂😂

I think that you being authentic and knowing that someone in their time of grief may not want to hear about "God's plan" in that moment is actually more welcoming to non-believers because it's more real and not the "holier than thou" persona that can actually turn people away from religion. Trust your gut ❤

Hey Jess 💞 A few bible verses that have helped me understand more about the dead are
-Ecclesiastes 9:5
-Genesis 3:19
-John 3:13 - no one has gone to Heaven except the one who came down from Heaven (Jesus)
The Bible states that people that pass away are simply asleep and unaware of anything. From dust we were created and back to the dust we go, until Jesus returns to raise the dead for Judgement Day! But he has not returned yet, so no one has been judged on where they will go.

I think it is interesting that when bad things happen we blame God. It makes sense because He is sovereign, but I think sometimes we forget that we live in a fallen world and in a fallen world bad things happen. It does suck, but I don't think it takes away from the character of God. There is a comfort in knowing God is with us even through the grief and hard times. I often look at the Psalms and how David felt and expressed all his emotions, but still came to the conclusion, to God be the glory.

Happy Birthday Jonathan! Jess, I remember keeping my last name for 9 years after being married and I only changed it to my husband’s name when I changed jobs! 😂. I worked in HR and knew the headache that goes with changing your name on all things like credit cards, banking, bills, etc. We’ll be married 35 years in December. ❤

What has been helpful for me is trying to keep one key scripture per chapter. Meditating on that scripture and find ways to make it applicable to my daily life.

Hey Jess, how I see it is that this is a vlog. You are choosing to share your life with us. Just as you help us with your life experience, I see no problems in you sharing your experience with grief, as authentically as you please. I don't think you need to dim how you are feeling about the loss of your friend just because it "triggers" feelings in others who have lost someone. We as the viewers are responsible for managing our own emotions. Thats just how I feel. I lost two people in my life back to back in 2022 so I understand the feelings, the sadness, pain and everything all wrapped up in one. You are going to have good days, bad days, and meh days. That is okay! Please continue to be authentic. The question, "if I serve a God so good, why would he allow this to happen?" I, as a believer as well, have had that question as well. I think we all do at some point, either we thought of it or spoke it. I always thought that was a normal question, the most human question. We don't know the answer, but God is good and faithful. Sometimes we might get the answer and sometimes we don't. That doesn't mean we love God less, or trust him less. I knew that you still believe God is good, all the time and even during this moment. I know that you have strong faith but that is how you are feeling at that moment. Thank you for putting God first, and sharing your faith with us!

Yay!!! So love that you said you are intermittent fasting at the end. Yaaassss!!! Just be aware of brain fog. I have to fight brain fog away when I have something important to do or decide. So try not to make important decisions while fasting, unless you have gotten used to it and the brain fogs aren’t as serious as the initial commencement of fasting. So happy for you. I literally eat one solid meal a day, I have shared so much weight from inflammation. I fasted two days straight the other day. Would have been longer but needed brain and physical power.

The way I had real tears laughing at y'all trying to get the flies! 😂🤣🤣 You have to get the fly trap bag thing. Lol. I think it's at Home Depot. It has a really smelly liquid in the bag but it attracts the flies. Hang it somewhere outside kinda far from any windows or doors cuz the liquid really smells.

As true believers, we don't know why God allows certain things to happen, but we know that He has a plan. His thoughts are not our thoughts, and neither is His ways... He said in Everything to give thanks, for this is His will concerning us.
